Next DCS (Russian) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
WarthogSmurf replied to Milene's topic in DCS Core Wish List
well the old flanker is something differen the a full DCS version like the A-10C. One needs documentation, instructions and most important full disclosure or atleast enough to get things working. but mig-21Bis is a russian plane which can "kick" A-10C and perhaps some F-15C too. hopefully a third party developer makes a su-27 DCS version. But most sim developers are western based and the game market is a bit bigger then russian only. Btw why no Chinees jets or Europian jets or Brazilian ...so many choices so many ideas so little time and developers =) -
Having trouble getting BS2 to work in DCS World
WarthogSmurf replied to mtgrill's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
AFAIK BS1 should have a CD KEY or something . Plus you need DCS World proably first with the BS2 upgrade module -
Doubt ppl want to pay 1200 to learn and fly a simulator when their are online squads doing it for free (click link in sig ). And to pay 1200 bucks for a 4-day program flying a game i can fly in my own pit. Not many simmers can afford high prices hence they build their own pits etc. Idea sounds nice but to actually but a full scale A-10C pit with every button functional that would cost you a rib and then you want a squad too. But perhaps I am wrong =)

BS2 update wont install with Steam BS
WarthogSmurf replied to QVidal's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Download BS from ED and remove the steam one. (deacitvate) then install BS1 , activate etc. Then you do the upgrade and it should work. Steam uses the same keys as the regular one so no worries there. Steam is kinda dropped by ED after BS2 hence it wont work perfect anymore -
Heheh and here i was about to so say that aint no bug .. mavs dont have a big enough warhead for ships and then server crash ....hahahaha:megalol: didnt they fixed that somewhere at the beginning of World ?

Thing is a trained pilot can find the switches without looking =). Just like you enter your car without lights and you still find the keys, buttons. I rather see a bit more lighting on airfield because those are really dark even darker then when i am getting up in a dark room

Payware Models for DCSW (ONLY External 3D Models ! )
WarthogSmurf replied to HungaroJET's topic in DCS Modding
I like the idea of this poll but more if you could buy an upgrade pack like Bezl ones made. i wouldnt mind paying a bit for that. But paying for every single model is a bit . So i would say yes if sold in packs -
which laptop should I get to use Warthog??
WarthogSmurf replied to clarky_two's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well if you ask me .. make a movable system then. Get a LAN Party PC Case with handle on top and your kinda set. It is cheaper and you get more power. Plus if you really want to do some case modding yourself build your PC into a Peli water proof and shock proof case. And no worry of the moving compontes just get a SSD (because you ahve the money left) and nothing to worry about. For storage you setup a NAS anyways tucked somewhere out of sight Something like this could suit your need in moving just your case from point to point =) http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=3099 -
which laptop should I get to use Warthog??
WarthogSmurf replied to clarky_two's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
look into alienware for a nice game laptop. Deducted a bit due to the name alienware but mostly you should be looking into the 1500-2000 euro. I run the M17x R3 with the HD6990m and it runs smooth. Some FPS lag near airports. I even beat some desktops setups but i am looking into a desktop system also around 1500 euro for triple head because the laptop screen is so little with all those gauges and switches =) -

P-51D Instrument Panel for Android tables
WarthogSmurf replied to leonpo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah works on the Asus Transformer now And the telemery.lua file works now too. I only had one bug which was strange. I started the app then the sim and it worked perfectly. i then tried to start the sim and had a "woops forogt app moment"-test .. the app didnt worked and i was like well okay proably the telemetry file cant find the app so shutsdown. So i restarted the app and then sim again and nothing worked anymore. So i restarted PC , app and then sim .. again nothing. i then rebooted the entire tablet , then app then sim and it worked again ... so somewhere the app at one point refuses to use the data stream being send over. other then that works fine and i will do some more testing when i moved to my new home somewhere next week. Also your gauge are a bit different then the sim gauges perhaps you could mimic them more because it is bit difficult if you expect the needle to be at your 9 oclock and your gauge shows it at 6 oclock. i hope you can do more feature like fuel gauges, and perhaps some button to press =) -

WarthogSmurf replied to leonpo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My thoughts extacly ... it would beat using helios on an extra display with touch then using a simple android tablet .. keep up the good work keeping a close eye on this thread P.S I cant get it to work on my tablet (crash) and on my galaxy SII the app works but no data is being send -
P-51D Instrument Panel for Android tables
WarthogSmurf replied to leonpo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looks great will see in using it but is it possible to also make this for an A-10C there isnt much for android users only Icontrol which is ipad releated. I would love to pay for it -
Perhaps they started with a military contract but evolved into a more flight sim platform with third party developers. So i highly doubt all the third parties have military contracts

Recommend me a good triple monitor setup.
WarthogSmurf replied to Headspace's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
like nickmow says the two screens in the corner of your eyes gives you a wider view of things. Personanlly i would love to see 6-head setups but then you really need to have two GPU in there but then DCS will not work properly and oh yeah how many time i turn my head in other sim-like game just to get a better view and not getting anything -.- i feel half a person then -

http://techreport.com/review/23217/triple-screen-gaming-on-today-graphics-cards Since i was looking into it also i found this. benchmarks with a gtx680 vs hd7970 in triple head. Both work perfectly and the writer was surprised the 2GB version of the 680 could get along with the HD7970 and even have somewhat better fps. Very interesting article and i recommend the read. I was planning to get the GTX680 just because nvidia driver are slightly better. But the race is not won but both card are perfect for the job -
"Nerd³ Plays... Digital Combat Simulator: A-10C Warthog"
WarthogSmurf replied to pered's topic in Screenshots and Videos
if you dont read the manual nor follow the tutorial yeah it is .... seems he didnt even found the power button =) -
Well worst case scenario when everthing is just to hell you can always contact ATC/AWACS for vectors to home plate. You got a backup for your heading so that should work. In case your radio is shot ... well then pray that you stay inside the set corridors so that your own cap wont shoot you and navigate on landmarks. Also this is where mutual support is for your wingman guides you home and also check for dmg. If you need to eject your wingman becomes CSAR commander on the scene and need to guide the chopper inbound or give CSAR aircraft the coordinates
