  1. Hi @ll and S! During my career as a LockOn online squad pilot I encountered two noteworthy efforts to boost the community´s international/intersquad activities: One being the late Crimean Airwars (CAW) online campaign featuring promising mixed fighter-bomber wars. The other one being the venerable LomacLeague (LL) http://www.lomacleague.com/index.php by S77th-Dante featuring gunzo, heaters-only and unrestricted (BVR) ladder action for single-pilot-, two-pilot- and unlimited-pilot-teams. I recognize the admin workload problems crippling CAW but as for the LL there is an existing league system with rules, missions, mod and reporting system ready to use. Over the last year, the LomacLeague suffered from the general recession of interest in LockOn that is slowly undermining the community, which is understandable, given the age of the game. More and more pilots and teams quit and wandered off to mind their own business or to nowhere... From former 70+ players in the 1vs.1 ladder we are now down to only 5. And that despite the European Dogfight Champion 2005, =RvE=Paploo, joined the ladder only 2 months ago. It´s getting boring to always fight against the same two or three guys...! I see the huge amount of interest still present in this game and I don´t see any good reason not to revive the grand old online ladder of this community! If you lead a squad and occasionally organize yourself some wars against other squads, why not use the LomacLeague for setting up the match and get the chance to meet further possible squadwar opponents? If you love dogfight, why not challenge the official european champion in a well organised ladder system to see if you´re up to it? In times where for several reasons community member numbers shrink around the globe we have to consolidate and focus our efforts and activities on things like one big online league that provides enough diversity for the veterans while being big enough to stand out and attract new community members. Are you a vet that even only hazily remembers the fun he had in the good ol´ days? - Rejoin! Are you a newbie that considers himself combat-ready and that hears from all this for the first time? Join the LomacLeague! Woody out.
  2. Thanx for heads-up and link, Jason!
  3. http://www.patricksaviation.com/ Cheers!
  4. S! Phil, I´m looking forward to our friendly squadwar finally getting set. CU
  5. I guess the fact that Rich gets shot down by missiles at several people playing the track comes from LOMAC´s track system. Those tracks record events like system settings and missile launches but not events like actual missile avoidances. I think that from the moment of the missile launch the playback game recalculates the kill probability anew from the missile´s and Ironhand´s behaviour. So maybe Rich´s manoeuvres lead to a 0,5% kill probability for the missile and this reflects in him getting killed on some people´s playbacks... Just a guess.
  6. See, this is why I love not only the game but especially the community so much: You don´t need to bump your own ad, there are brothers-in-arms doing it for you... Big S!
  7. Cheers mate! I can imagine the Mrs´ look and laugh... - I got myself some of those when I built this beauty here: Woodyseat
  8. German make..., of course...;) ...called "Simped" Check out here:http://home.arcor.de/p.madel/Homepage/homeeng.htm

  12. He forgot to translate: LockOn is the best sim ever! And with the BS add-on finally helicopters come along.
  13. What do those missiles do if the tracked radar beam swings away from their launch direction/aircraft?
  14. Your words in german: LockOn ist der beste Simulator!! Es ist außergewöhnlich!!! Jetzt heißt es nur noch warten auf Black Shark...
  15. The mission was fun, thanx 169th! AWACS adds much and should be considered for many future open HL-missions. I vote against externals however. Loadout policing is good but can also be done from debriefing screens. The point is that externals destroy the blind zones that have been patched into AWACS/GCI with a huge effort. Whoever talks about realism in connection with AWACS seriously can´t have his externals on... The best AWACS to be found is a human player one however. If you have LO-AWACS up on your open server you should see to it that there´s also a LOTATC plugin running. This would also be one more good reason for players to join the corresponding TS. Thank´s 44th_GrayGhost and _Misfit for the fun I had last week on your server and TS testing AWACS in HL!
  16. Good job, thank you! We mirror it here: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=28&lang=en
  17. This screenie is already over one year old. That was the "JaBoG32 Airbase Mod" for 1.02 which added this sign to Sochi´s Tower and some more others to the terminal building. The mod is no longer in our DL section and I don´t know how it was done. It was already there when I joined the squad, but I´ll ask Chrissi to contact you on that. I guess he did it or at least he will know who it was.
  18. No, it wouldn´t. :D Only thing more beautiful than the Hog is this cutie here::icon_syda And the Tomcat, of course.
  19. Did someone mention the glorious Longbow 2 game with its 3 flyable helicopters, splendid avionics modelling and great multiplayer features like 2-clients-in-1-chopper? Did I ever mention I wished we had evolution instead of reinventing in this genre?
  20. S! Shaman Dog, I knew this question would come up and I´m curious to see some "external" video footage of the setup myself. Callisto promised to render and upload some video camera shots within the next few days. I´ll keep you informed. And yes, there´s a gap in the middle... ;) Greetz, Woody
  21. Seems like our friend JaBoG32_Callisto was a good kid last year... ... - at least Santa brought him TWO 24"-TFTs. Check out his new perspective of LOMAC: Video: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=28&lang=en
  22. Just for info: JaBoG is the german abbreviation for FBW = Fighter Bomber Wing. So virtual JaBoG32 is the virtual 32nd FBW...
  23. Every F-14 fanboi should have seen the "Fighter Fling 2004" video. A very good and emotional farewell hommage to The Cat. It is called "Tomcat 2004 Fling" and can be downloaded here http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=30&page=3&lang=en along with earlier Fighter Fling F-14 videos. S! to the most beautiful aircraft ever!
  24. It IS an A-version. The weapon panel is not yet integrated into a MFD and you can see the old F-4-Phantom-like stick that hasn´t yet all the additional hat switches.
