I would like to add some fuel to the fire::music_whistling: Olgerd was observed questioning a RL F-15C pilot on a foreign forum in the last days. He gathered insider knowledge about the Eagle´s center console A/G button, the VI mode logic and the modes AUTO, CDIP, DIRECT and MANUAL...:smartass:

Take a deep breath.... It's just a game!
Woodstock replied to Wild.Bill.Kelso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It´s acted. Part of a german child-protection/parental-awareness-bla-bla-campaign. Personally, I always imagine the average CS-kid to behave just like that...:P -
I´m an ATC guy, that says it all... ...we´re a special breed...

...I could swear if ED ever said something about SDK, it must have been "No." ...:p

Aircraft carrier take off....help please!
Woodstock replied to NY3D's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
What usually does the trick for all carrier aircraft IRL is headwind. Even if there is for whatever reason no wind at all in the mission, the carrier should steam along at 20-25 kts, providing you with the little "extra" needed. -
This is a screenshot from the Wings over Europe homepage. If you don´t know the Strike Fighter Series and want to get a feel for it´s realism, immersion and attention to detail, just look at this F-15´s ejection seat handles... - Yikes! But I guess I´ll buy it anyway, just to check it out, as I bought SFP1 and WoV as well just to check them out. Any flightsim developer deserves his €30.- from me for each new title for their contribution to the genre. - No matter how bad their product is...

May I recommend doin´it doggie style: if you perform well, she might not even notice you´re placing a laptop on her back, editing your new vid. Thus you can keep her AND us happy simultaneously...:icon_supe

What is your 3 favorite aircraft.... and why :)
Woodstock replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Tornado, Tomcat, Apache Longbow. At least those are the ones I would like most to see in a flightsim. -
Hi @ll! Some might have already noticed that our download server has been down for a couple of days. Unfortunately it will stay down for another couple of days since it got attacked and completely destroyed by a hacker while the admin was unable to interfere due to phone and cable construction works in his house.:icon_evil All download links and other (like e.g. my sig) in this forum are dead and will remain dead for quite some time. We appologize! The good news is: our dedicated game server and homepage/TS server are not affected at all and are still up for the community and for us to use. Only the download section of our homepage is now full of dead links... We will keep you informed about any news on this subject. Greetings @ll, vJaBoG32 Staff

It´s not there... - yet. Might come in the upcoming Black Shark add-on, but who knows... ... I can´t think of anything with lower priority for LO than a Predator! Ah, yes, a helicopter, maybe... BTW, this forum is quite active, so if you have a question, please state it only once in one single thread! It shure will be answered. No need to open three threads, that´s called spamming.

Hi! I´ll be stopping by in HL tomorrow (March 14th) morning 0700 GMT and see if I can hold the plane still so early in the morning... CU

Ask TAP Air Portugal to sponsor your team by giving you a 10%-Standby-Ticket. Maybe you can even ride on the jumpseat... Asking never hurts!

Looking for new signature. Anyone?
Woodstock replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi GA! Since you seem to be more or less "unemployed" right now, I wonder if that opens up some video editing time on your side for other projects? If I may suggest a new project, I would love to see more than only the one excellent video =Striker= made out of the loads of VFAT2005 footage. There are LO-tracks of the rehearsal plus Friday´s and Saturday´s complete shows plus TS voice recordings available here. Another good video about the event after almost half a year now would be just great! And maybe Bublik has already got some plans or dates for this years edition so there would be a reason to do a teaser/trailer... VFAT2005 was a real highlight last year for many in the LOMAC community and I think it still deserves some attention, especially with the prospect of a sequel! Just a suggestion in case you don´t know what to do now...;) Greetz, Woody -
This is not a poll...fantasy addon....

Not practicable here: The Blackbird´s turn radius at cruise speed exceeds the playable theatre´s diameter...:D :D :D -
Thanks for the hint, Goya! S! Now, that´s really a shame! Something (supposedly) that easy to fix being ignored for so long... You know, ED, I´m trying to teach basics like Heading/Bearing/Track and IAS/TAS/GS to newbies for the benefit of the whole community. You could help me here by correcting this!

Have you been playing around with the axis modifier sliders in LockOn´s options menu yet? Try a curve that is shallow around stick center and getting steeper towards full deflection.
-
Yeah, you´re most welcome, ol´ chap!;) It´s so funny to be in the same business like you without having any mutual understanding for your work... I beg your compassion for my impatience, me being just an end-user, playing the "safety-against-all-odds" game day in, day out without pause button. To be honest, it´s just jealousy making me rant here, not having the time to pick the nose or scratch the crack now and then...;) Cheers! @ all: Anyone else here not willing to fly with a TAS display that shows IAS?
-
Hi @ll! I´m shure this was brought up before, it´s just that my poor forum search skills didn´t find any old threads concerning this: The F-15C in LockOn has a buggy TrueAirSpeed indicator in the radar display. Bottom left corner of the radar shows a digital GroundSpeed readout which is working correctly. Bottom right corner readout is supposed to display TAS but in fact is showing Indicated (or Calibrated) AirSpeed. I did the following test: F-15C flying at sea level (Altitute 80 ft) with ten knots headwind at constant 400 KIAS. External F2-view bottom info-line shows 402 kts TAS, radar display shows 400 kts TAS (which is wrong, should read 402) and 392 kts GroundSpeed (GS). Climbing altitude 20.000 ft while maintaining 400 KIAS, the TAS should be rising over the IAS at about 2% per 1000 ft above MSL. It does so quite nicely in the external view, but not in the radar display where it stays at 400 kts. Having levelled off at 20.000ft MSL, we have the following situation: IAS still 400 kts, TAS (ext. view) 550 kts, GS (radar display) 540 kts, which is all about correct. But: The TAS displayed in the radar display still shows 400 kts, which is wrong, it should read 550 kts. This must have been noticed before. I imagine this to be a quite simple error that could easily be fixed. Since LOMAC is actually calculating and exporting the values to the graphic engine for IAS (HUD & Airspeed Indicators), TAS (external views and mission editor) and Ground Speed (F-15 radar display and A-10 TOT HUD readouts), I think this could be fixed by correcting the code that incorrectly exports IAS to the radar display TAS readout whereas it should export the TAS value. Estimated workload for ED: maybe 15 minutes work for a single programmer and maybe one man-hour for testing. Am I wrong somewhere? Didn´t anyone notice before? Is it only me having this? Is it not so easy to fix? I expect this to be corrected in 1.2.

Yep, good work, keep them coming! Great formation flying by the way! An overhead split into the close visual pattern would have been a great grande finale... Thumbs up!:icon_supe

I´d say: until it´s ready... ...errr, empty, I mean...

I´m holding now in hands my copy of the FC Manual that just arrived from SimWare. And I have to say: Thank you, ED! It looks and feels really good and in size and content it proudly fits my spiral binder manual collection of Jane´s Longbow/Longbow2/IAF/F-15/USAF/F-18 and many many other paperback manuals from the great old days of flightsimming. Sitting besides Flanker, Flanker 2 and the great Enhanced LOMAC Manual (god bless you, my friend), it is only surpassed by the huge original Falcon4 manual. But since F4 has more to learn about it that´s ok, I guess. Of course there´s nothing new to the FC manual content but it´s so much better to have a hardcopy at hand whilst in game! ED is going exactly the right way here: if sales numbers don´t allow for a fullsize hardcopy manual to come with the game, then make it available separately as some sort of payware "add-on". People always state that they would be willing to pay higher than average prices for high-quality simulation software. Well, here´s the way to go, just split costs up. ~$50.- for the game plus another ~$25.- for a hardcopy manual seem fair to me. Well done, ED! - Carry on!
