My bad, Simple test. Trim aircraft level,Start at 200 mph, set altitude, advance throttle to a given manifold pressure. count the time it takes to reach 250mph. Repeat the test with canopy open exact same parameters, if there is a difference in time then it is modeled. Do three test of each to be certain.

It will create a very large amount of drag, It's the same as opening the window of your car. At low speed, below 60 KPH it has little effect but as speed increases the drag created goes up quickly. The same is true for opening the canopy in the P-51. But there is no speed that it won't have much effect, unlike the car because of higher speeds. By going at higher speeds the amount of drag created increases at a high rate. To sum up, it will create drag having it open at any speed, but the amount of drag created is dependent on the aircraft's speed, higher= more drag.

Welcome to DCS. First, Install DCS World first, install everything else after you've installed World. - "Black shark 1", will not work with world. You will need to buy the upgrade version of Blackshark 2 in order to install it and play as part of DCS world. - There are no advantages to purchasing the boxed version. FC2 will not work with world, you'll have to wait for FC3 which was to be released by end of september, so any day now I think. I don't own Combined Arms so can't comment.

Yes I'v turned off engines, stopped on the ramp, friendly repair, refuel vehicles, opened canopy no joy with repair, ground crew say copy, nothing happens, i'v waited 10 minutes.

Hi, I manage to get the ground crew to acknowledge the repair call, they say copy. But the damage never seems to get repaired. I don't get a timer in the corner of the screen like the other aircraft either. Has anybody managed to repair the Su-25 from battle damage?

Just wondering if anybody knows why a tank's barrel elevates after it's fired a round? If you have ever seen them the barrel moves immediately upwards after each shot. Anyone know why?

I PM'd just a second ago. The list in the PM I think is a better one, I would strongly recommend looking at the engineering books I suggested if you would like to pursue Engineering. It's not easy and a mountain of maths is involved. I have seen plenty people take up engineering courses and then leave because it's not for everybody, it can seem more like doing a maths degree than an Engineering one! If you live near a university you can enter the library and look at some of these if they have an aerospace department.

Does Red Eagles contain anything about the Mig-29? I'm referring to how NATO over estimated it's capabilities. I'v read articles about West German and NATO testing of the Mig-29 after they received them from East Germany and found it incredibly interesting and would love to read more. Griffin, "The Jet Engine" by Rolls Royce is an incredible book! I would actually recommend it over every other for knowledge about Gas turbines. But are you looking for something between Design and introduction? What exactly does the work entail, maintenance, consulting etc.? I can recommend quite a few to you. But anything more advanced than "The Jet Engine" WILL be very intensive maths and the prices go WAY up!! Hi, I would say always drop cluster bombs wings level, CCRP. You can drop them no problem in CCIP but you can end up dropping them below their HOF(height of function). You can wind correct an iron bomb and the 97 is no exception but even with wind correction the bomblets will be carried away by the wind once they deploy. I have heard people say that by using wind correction that the bomb will be released upwind and the "chutes" will fly to the target. This has never happened for me, no matter what I change with wind correction. The best thing to do is know the ground wind speed and direction then "aim off" manually with the TGP. This works for me, it's not right 100% of the time but it does get results.

I made such a thing for myself, I made it with the FC2 manual and using various military themed websites to put it together. It's very satisfying to do it and you get a greater understanding and appreciation of russian ordnance. I can upload it if you want but it's not professional or anything?

No it has stopped since I turned off HDR, But now I get 20 frames less and my game takes twice as long to load! I don't understand how I get worse performance? :(

I'm sorry but i'm not sure what you mean by artefacts? when it flickers it's like the monitor was turned off and on again in a fraction of a second. Using DCS World 1.2, Only mod is Riccardo's HD pit. Doesn't happen in any external views. But it happens in P-51 cockpit too, not ka-50 or A-10

1 screen, Windows 7, 1GB of V Ram. Settings are custom i'm trying to add settings screenshot, It happens on low too, It seems more likely to happen in the evening and night time.
