Winnings Posts/Pictures: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2245737&postcount=38 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2245791&postcount=43 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2245862&postcount=49 The last two won by the extra chance given for their pictures. Off the top of my head I _think_ the rolls (from 1-202, 1-147 were posts, 148-202 for pictures) were 20 (but this was Ells228's post saying he would contribute a key!), 38, 167, 163. Gargoyle1 was on TS and helped verify the posts/pictures were correct.

The winners are!!!! 1. Nick-ZG (by post, I have sent you your key by PM) 2. PhysGun (by picture, Ells228 can you please send PhysGun his key) 3. Revan (by picture, Rajdary can you please send Revan his key) To get going make sure DCS World is up to date, then install: http://www.veaosimulations.co.uk/dcshawk/installers/DCSHawk_Preview_1.2.11-20.5-RC8.exe and then: http://www.veaosimulations.co.uk/dcshawk/installers/DCSHawk_Preview_1.2.12-20.5-RC8_UPDATE.exe Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who participated! The pictures were amazing! And thank you to the other license contributors!!

Yes, of course. I will post the winners here and send the key I have to the first winner over the forums. Hopefully Ells228 and Rajdary can follow up with winners 2 and 3 respectively. :) Edt: I set the password again and tested it. It should work now, if it didn't before.

Not Yet. I will be rolling numbers for winners on ts3.montleon.com at 8PM EDT (7.5 hours from now) in the DCS World channel. The password is temporarily changed to guest if anyone wants to observe the rolls. Can one or two people confirm that they see 147 posts before midnight (#147 being last before the deadline) and 54 awesome drawings of (one on) a Hawk?
-
And thanks to Rajdary there is a third license in the mix for the giveaway! Thanks for your generosity Rajdary!!

4 hours and 4 minutes :)

Yes, all android here too. I won't touch an iDevice anymore. If an Android App comes I'd consider supporting it.

You assume that they believed they can make a ton of money on WWII planes and theatres and that if they can the additional work was worth putting off other projects. A giant failed Kickstarter would have been terrible from a publicity standpoint though. I hope they do make money. ED going out of business would be bad for the flight sim community. What would you replace it with? So ya, I'm pretty grateful for them picking it up AND hope they make some decent scratch from the endeavor. It goes both ways...

Yes. I guess I didn't mention that in my video, except to say I was throttling down after I landed. But ya, I also keep power going until I am down.

Out: P-51D Fw 190 D-9 Bf 109 K-4 In Progress: Spitfire P-47D Me.262A1 Map and Ground Units AI-B17 Planes have been coming at a pretty steady pace. Every couple or few months. Bf 109 came maybe a month after the initial guess, but they're on the job. Which we should thank them for, considering RRG dropped the ball.

Yes, I can seem to do it pretty well now. The 1 m/s seems to be really key. Actually getting 1 m/s was really hard until I figured out how I could do it more readily. I made several takes of this just trying not to trip on my words and didn't screw up t he gear once. It is a nice change. I made a video talking out how I figured out to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmQqzGqfeJ8&feature=youtu.be Basically my 'secret' is excessive nose up trim.

It's the website password, not the forum password. The one you would use to log in to the store, etc.
-
I agree. The drawings are awesome. I am very happy to be able to run this giveaway. I had my doubts when it started if anyone would participate. Not anymore :D
-
It is extraordinarily simple to duplicate this. Just put a static object MANPAD on a map and click start. You don't even need a flyable plane. It shouldn't be necessary, but regardless attached are the 'mission' and logs. No track file is generated, as it crashes on mission loading. Test..miz Logs and Dumps.zip
-
Static Object MANPADS on the map ( Stinger or SA-18 ) cause 1.2.12 to crash... if your maps are crashing and you have any of these they'll need removal :/ I had some on a practice range type map.
-
If you set a Static Object SA-18 or Stinger MANPAD in a mission in the mission editor and try to run it it will crash.

It's still the 3rd on the east coast of the US for 9+ more hours. And there is still all the other time zones before it's not the third anywhere else anymore :-P

So, getting into DCS. Looking for Hardware
xaoslaad replied to Rysgame's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The X-55 is a (somewhat) budget competition to the Thrustmaster warthog. You can certainly see the similarities, though it is not 1:1 and I think it has some knobs/dials. I'm not a big fan of Saitek products in general. I had an X-52 Pro and have the Pro Combat Pedals. http://www.amazon.com/Saitek-Flight-Combat-Rudder-Pedals/ The X-52 Pro had a flaky mouse thumb stick that would often drift hard right. Unplugging the stick and plugging it back in anywhere from one to a dozen times would temporarily fix it. If it didn't blue screen windows. Meanwhile the pedal toe brakes at idle had a lot of jitter. I had to set dead zones to cover up the small inputs. They do work ok, but I don't like seeing a product that expensive behave like that. I can't speak about the X-55 quality, but if better pedals weren't prohibitively expensive I'd replace those too and be done with Saitek for good. As it is the Warthog is a bank buster all on its own. You might want to consider Track IR as well, or trying to implement one of the free (as long as you have the needed components) alternatives. It does wonders for situational awareness, especially in Air to Air combat. You don't need it day one though. I'd honestly say, if budget allows, go for a good HOTAS (thrustmaster warthog if you can, if not get t he best you can), then when budget permits pedals, then track ir, etc. One thing to be aware of is that the warthog is not a twist stick. I flew with a Logitech 3D Extreme for many years. Then an X-52 Pro, and then after I had it with that PoS a warthog. I wish I had skipped the X-52 to be honest and just gone for the quality up front, but maybe you will have better luck if you go the Saitek route. On the topic of pedals I flew he Ka-50 with a twist stick and it was OK. I found the Huey and Hip impossible without them and got pedals when the Huey was released. -
Saitek Combat Pedals not showing up
xaoslaad replied to atrcaptainjohn's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Have combat pro pedals and they have worked fine. No issues through 1.2.12 open beta. -
Weight of the aircraft, max munitions weight, need for take off on improvised or poorly maintained runways, carrier landings, I'm sure I'm missing many others.

SLI 970's at 3440x1440p - performance?
xaoslaad replied to Buckeye's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Shouldn't have been necessary. I have a 700 I think and it's perfectly fine with two. I think they suggest 650 to 750 for 2. A 750 was fine. Also, yes I misread your resolution, so you stand to get better frame rates than I do, so cool.
