  1. Ya - I have had crohns for a long time (though not as severe as most since surgery as a teen and with long bouts of remission - long enough that I got into and through 4 years in the USMC without issue) - anyway I did get sick a couple times during my first go at college and one of my professors insinuated the same after I ran out of her class to go puke. To be sure when the MM question came up on the ballot in MA with crohns listed right in the question I of course voted a big fat yes, though I have not had need of it up to this point. Bonine/Dramanine would probably be both cheaper and easier though it was (mostly) a joke and I don't expect Id actually need anything.
  2. HMCS simulation with Oculus Rift. That would be pretty sweet. Having the contraption on the head would be all the more simulation :)
  3. USMC doesn't fly A-10C's ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Marine_Corps_Aviation#Current_aircraft Don't get me wrong, they're likely to work closely with Army and Marine personnel. But fly them, they do not.
  4. There is a great a mission called FOB Vedka that you can download, that to me is an awesome show of how the A-10C can do its job. You are doing CAS for a convoy for the first half and then you go down the road and clear out some other threats around the area. With the fire fights, explosions, directions from ground, etc. you can be amazingly effective with just guns and rockets, never mind guided munitions.
  5. I can't seem to bring it up for the Fw 190...
  6. I did a quick takeoff and landing video so people can see what I am doing to get the thing off and on the ground now that I can do it mostly without leaving parts of my plane behind. Still needs lots of work (and out of interest of being fast I was way to close to initiate my landing and floated down the runway way too far when landing, but I know that), but with wide views people can see where and what all my controls are doing. My hope is that A) people still having a lot more trouble can learn something and B) People doing a lot better can critique what I am doing and teach me a thing or two. http://youtu.be/NUxJQAgsMkw
  7. Ya, and that may be what's getting me and other people, if you need to get a section (or the entire plane as it may be - I know very little about how the DM works) to xx% integrity before damage shows. Maybe a sticky post somewhere with a general overview of how the DM works (maybe something similar already exists) in general would make people less frustrated when it comes to rectifying what they think should be happening with what they're seeing. Even the post above this one demonstrates the "the canon should be blowing bits off / why should it not be necessary to hit critical points" arguement/counter. You might have blown a bit off, it just wasn't a very critical part, so it doesn't necessarily get rendered. Anyway, I don't take it too hard, from that same video I can demonstrate what a solid hit does in short order, so I just try to save my bullets for worthwhile shots.
  8. Obvisouly not a track, and I may be making a bad assumption that what I see here is canon hitting with the small explosion. Then I take a good look at his belly and nothing... I did get him, but I was still a little surprised that left not a spot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxd0TyPpfEw&t=0m34s
  9. W I would beta test the death out of that for them too, if they would let me.
  10. Corvus what was your vertical velocity and speed for that landing. The tutorial wags put said ~2.5/190, but I still get bounce around there. That looked way more sexy than the crap I'm doing.
  11. Thanks - ya, I couldn't believe he gave me that shot. I basically just had to shoot while he dragged his plane across my line of fire.
  12. This is the dogfight instant mission. I take down the P-51D and then land. Landings are getting better. Not so many chunks all over the runway. Still find it _extremely_ difficult not to bounce the thing. Don't have this problem with the P-51D. I have no issue with takeoff, so there is that at least. http://youtu.be/jxd0TyPpfEw
  13. I thought of this as well and it made a huge difference for me. Able to take off by locking the tail wheel.
  14. We have a dedicated website, teamspeak, and all. We're still not a formal squadron... you do realize you can set up a TS server for free, right? I have one running out of my house (not the above mentioned). I have a ddns client running to keep the hostname updated for the system so the others thay use it can easily access it. Setting up a webpage would be no more difficult and could be just as free.
  15. People will just start creating squadrons to get discounts. There will be squadrons that exist for no other purpose than to get a discount. Others will join squadrons for no other reason than to be associated and get a discount. Who's gonna figure out if they're legitimate squadrons or not. I fly with some people but we are not an organized squadron. At least 4-5 active flyers with several other who join us occasionally. I can certainly create a logo and call us a squadron. Give everyone ranks and medals and other nonsense. Would that (not) be legit? Even if I'm only doing it for a sake of getting us a discount? After all we're probably a squadron in all but name and some sort of rank structure. The idea seems flawed at every level.
  16. Well, not just any video game, if it makes you feel better. I certainly didn't for HL2 :D LOL, I don't know. Haven't had that situation arise much as I don't even drink very often.
  17. Am I the only one willing to go to these lengths if necessary? http://www.amazon.com/Bonine-Sickness-Protection-Chewable-Raspberry/dp/B000YA8NYQ I can get motion sickness if I read in a car, am sick (with a cold) on a boat, or play Half Life 2 (of all games... I'm told they use an odd field of view), so I'm worried as well. I haven't tried Bonine yet, but from what I'm told it doesn't make you drowsy like Dramamine. I'd even use Dramamine and just plan my 30 minute pre-flight nap while it kicks in.
  18. Well, for me I get all but one. Since the 262 has no date I was gonna select everything except for it and pay for it when it comes along. I can reverse the plan and get the Dora for the $10 discount now though if it's going to be a wait... others might have similar schemes in their heads...
  19. Seems to happen if you die while AI is talking as well.
  20. It was 1 in the morning when I posted this and with a couple more minutes to think on the gears churned and I realized I should upload the dump and crash files. Grimes reproduced shorrly after. It's caused by ejecting from a damaged FC3 plane while AI is talking. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127757 Knowing that doesnt fix it, but it's a good quick step in the right direction.
  21. Thanks! There is a very chatty russian awacs in that mission I was testing. It's probably all his fault, so I'll remove him and probably my problems will go away. It's just a co-op vs AI so I think he'd be the only talker.
  22. Seems to be only when damaged, can eject from undamaged plane just fine. crash-n-dumps.zip
  23. Is this a known issue? Seem to crash in 1.2.9 anytime I eject from a damaged Su-33? Seems to be only when damaged, can eject from undamaged no issue. Just did a forum search and didn't see anything, but I can't believe an issue like that would go unnoticed.
  24. Not good. http://www.ausairpower.net/TE-Sidewinder-94.html We can just say pew pew when behind the enemy and get similar effect until they make it into the game.
  25. The F-15C Intercept quick start mission is as far as you need to go if you want to see a couple in game. They are pretty. I enjoy shooting them down.
