  1. awesome, im glad the added clarity resolved your issue. Also thank you for validating the steps too, now hopefully others can find this use this to get there issue resolved as well.
  2. sure thing, i hope it works. At the very least it should let you get everything going without FC3. I personally just figure out how to get the combined arms install corrected on my system so i am not at 100%, all modules working, i can logon and use both module manager and multiplayer in both 1.2 and 1.5. Jester, Here is the process i use, if you can walk through it and see if it helps you that would be great validation If you find it doesn't help or you have to do different things let me know, i will correct the post, or if its just me being a one-off, this fix was unique to me then i wont worry too much and wont reference it in other threads. Process: 1.) get your proper serial number, preferably from original receipt, or module manager if still installed. 2.) Logon to the DCS website (not forums), go into your profile and use the function to check the key. when you put in the key and click check, it will show the username its bound too. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/licensing/ Make sure the key is correct, active and everything looks right or is fixed Assuming you now have have the right key bound to the same username as all other keys, proceed. <This is important, all keys used must be bound to the same user account, or you will get the failed login error> 3.) Install the problematic module (for me it was CA) into DCS 1.2 4.) Browse to, and run, the DRM tool to deactivate/active it with the proper key For a plane module it would be like this: \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\bin\fc3_protect.exe For me with Combined Arms, its: \DCS World\Mods\tech\CombinedArms\bin\CombinedArms_protect.exe Enter the correct key and proceed in the tool (i found when i ran the exe, it had the wrong key, your situation may be different) Close when completed and activated 5.) Open DCSW 1.2, Test the module works and is playable 6.) Validate you are able to open DCSW 1.2 Multiplayer and login If this all works, then Proceed to the Open Beta Side 1.) Open DCSW 1.5 2.) Perform initial login on load screen and hopefully it will now work 3.) Load the problematic module from the module Manager 4.) Test connectivity to Multiplayer
  3. Just to update, i believe i have found the root cause of this issue (at least for me). Check out my post in the other thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2514260&postcount=13 Hopefully it proves to be helpful to many.
  4. I went though something similar, for me i tried removing modules until it worked and for me it was the removal of Combined arms. seems like it may be related to the license keys for hte modules, its important to ensure that all of the licenses you registered from your main install are all bound to the same user account. It looks in my case the Combined arms install of my 1.2 DCSW was using a serial number bound to another user account, after rebinding it to my account and using the tool on the DCS website to validate all serial numbers were bound to my user ID, i was then able to properly login to the the new DCS Open Beta Client, see all the modules, re-install CA, and even see the MP server lists properly. So Jester, i would suggest trying the removal of FC3 from both installs, then validating the key. When you login, every serial number that is active has to be bound to the same user account, otherwise you fail to log in. This seems to be a possible root cause
  5. I am on Windows 10 and am also having issues where it rejects my username and password. i am unable to install remaining packages or use multiplayer. I have all of my notes here, i didnt really want to xpost everything but wanted to confirm this is still an issue for at least some Link to the post of my findings: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2511462&postcount=7
  6. Just wondering if this is a confirmed bug? I didnt see it on a search the other day and dont want to be double posting bugs, but i see a number of people with the same issue
  7. Confirming issue still persists for me after update to ver 1.5.0.45655
  8. i am having the same issue, my password works on the website, and has no special characters. When i first loaded open Beta it was very sporadically working, i had assumed it was just load related issues as it was on release day. Since then it fails to login every time now stating "incorrect login or password" I own all the current modules, but just have one left to install that i didnt install on release day. Here is either info about my system or things i have checked or done trying to resolve so far * Windows 10 Pro Tried with my network adapter on both private and public Tried with windows firewall fully disabled and enabled (inducing reviewing rules that might be blocking Disabled AV Software (Bitdefender), but no change * Performed DCS Open Beta Repair * Performed DCS Open Beta manual update * Confirmed Password worked on ED Forums and store via full logout and login * Confirmed Password worked in current 1.2.16 install of DCS * Tried the Config copy referenced in this thread For clarification on this i tried both: Copying the whole Config folder Copying just the network.cfg as mention in the thread * Performed a manual password change on the website to try a new password, also ensuring only upper/lower case letters and numbers * Performed a "reset" using the link in game, received the email and completed reset process, no change * Confirming issue still persists for me after update to ver 1.5.0.45655 Please note any other details required to help the team with this issue
  9. WOHOOO!! Thanks for all the hard word ED, i cant wait to finally get into this
  10. Agreed. If you are a serious DCS simmer you will thank yourself for doing it. I had the x52 pro for a while and went though the exact same "is it really worth it" and "what i have works pretty good". The TM WH is an amazing jump up for the DCS world line up, obviously more so if the A-10C is something you really enjoy. That said, if DCS is a part time thing, in that much of your other gaming time is spent in other sims or games you may find yourself back to the X52 from what i have heard from others.. i personally have not. The X52 gives a few more options with pure buttons for various other games, but overall the TH WH is better is pretty much every aspect. Just make sure you have rudder pedals, as some don't realize that the WH, being a realistic mock up, doesn't have a rudder twist function, so you have to have pedals.
  11. thanks for following through on this, there was parts of the stream i missed and look forward to catching them. Great job on what i did see though, really looking forward to another WWII plane.
  12. sounds great, i think i might try and get in on this. Might give me a easier entry into multi-player. will try and get everything setup tonight and see if i can be there tomorrow with: Draco A-10C US 2-4 hours
  13. in the controls settings in the lower left there is a button for Modifiers. In there you can setup modifiers that will allow you to do what you are talking about. In the case of the TM Warthog, you will setup a modifer named "Lever" (example, you can call it what you want) Then assign it to the pinky paddle/lever on the stick. once done, you can have ever button perform one function, and then have it perform another with the modifier... so for example Stick Trim up (hat switch down) will perform trim down lever + hat switch down could be assigned to "reset trim" make sense?
  14. on the TM WH, the pinky level on the stick is most commonly used as the Modifier
  15. yep totally understand.. not sure about finding the printer versions
  16. I am in no way trying to promote Kindle versions, but just so you know there is a free kindle ereader app available for most mobile phones and tablets. So if you did want to consider the kindle version you don't actually need a kindle device, just the kindle app on your phone or tablet. This will likely be how i get them and read them on my Android phone or iPad.
  17. Thanks for this recommendation, i found the whole series on amazon as a collection http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XJ077PY/ref=series_rw_dp_sw (in case others want quick access) This likes a perfect place to start, thanks again to all for their feedback/recommendations
  18. Thanks guys, this gives me quite a bit to review perfect. Other recommendations still welcome of course, but i can dig through these threads too
  19. Hey forums I did a quick search and didn't see anything jump out, so i thought i would post to get everyone's suggestion on any books that are worth reading on the A-10. Preferably the DCS Covered models but i know that may be too difficult. I not really looking for technical manual, however if you have links to any freely available one is would be happy to check them out, just dont really want to pay for those. What im after are any books that i can get in either in ebook or audiobook format from Amazon or the like. Books from pilots, historians, military experts, or similar. Interested in learning a bit more history and insight
  20. congrats, i will be sure to get it even having done the existing one to both support your hard work and see the improvements.
  21. congrats, very well deserved, one of the best campaigns out there.
  22. im pretty surprised, i expected a bit more complaining (or the mods are really quick on the clean up). I would just echo what many have said.. im sad its delay, i saw the newsletter email and got all excited, only to see 'delayed' even though i kinda expected it. That said, i agree, take the time needed and do it right. I would rather wait knowing its going to be fully baked and that when its released dev resources wont get pulled from feature development to bug fixes cause so many users are complaining. This way, most or all the main features are together (at least mostly) and then when alpha testing starts the resources cane focus on refinement and bug fixes without causing even further delays to committed features. ED, You guys are doing great work, you continue to develop the baseline by which others are measured. Keep up the level of quality everyone has come to expect. Take the time, you know best what it needs to be at Alpha release, just don't set your internal bar too high ;-)
  23. thanks!! looks like a perfect chance to upgrade to Pro!
  24. Sounds like a very interesting change of pace.. Looking for travel fits over combat fits.. Full atc contr sounds cool. And as long as you canfly well you can enjoy this.. Meaning you dont have to be a combat ace! I may check this out more myself... Nice announcement, thanks for sharing
  25. If you are getting started with other planes/modules, this is a great package http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138953 Its a well put together collection of profiles with PDFs for a lot of DCS modules, including the F-15
