  1. really hope you make a Mi-24 campaign, but i will certainly buy for any helo. I am replaying right now, and it's the most immersive experience in DCS for me. You can just tell the CO Peter was voiced by a real pilot too, or at least someone with extensive knowledge of helicopter operations. the attention to detail of safe operation is a nice touch. Eg: off the top of my head he always mentions landing into wind, crossing powerlines at the poles not the wires, remarks on max grossweight takeoff technique and keeping engine within TOT limits. Favorite mission probably mission 6 with the deteriorating weather where you start after being refueled by the convoy. It starts off with manageable weather and has you do an IMC landing on a hill to drop off soldiers, drop smoke on targets for arty at low level using the strong tailwind for fast ground speed. Bullets flying everywhere and then sudden calm while you resume your original mission before all the chaos, ending with the weather getting worse and worse as you are brought down to road level presented with a choice to make a precautionary landing or push on to Batumi. One of my most memorable sim experiences, flying this mission in VR. Thank you
  2. it's extremely fast in a straight line (190knots+) and turns like an aircraft carrier at speed. it's not nimble at all, but this is just part of its charm
  3. it would be cool to have the F-5's cannon sound. that is awesome, recommend you go have a listen
  4. bought a collective and VR specifically for this, am beyond excited
  5. Status is that this is a contender for my favourite module of DCS. It's in a really good state right now, and I absolutely love the harrier.
  6. looking amazing. gonna be a long 2 months
  7. There is soon to be a DLC campaign for the P47 by reflected. neither come with a free campaign, but you can use DCS liberation, free dynamic campaign generator
  8. you can remove them with the APU on and engine off so as to keep your systems on during turnaround
  9. here is a reddit comment from Zeus 3 years ago, not sure if this is still the plan
  10. Those clouds are breathtaking. SO worth the wait. Please be soon
  11. Well what do you know it's finally official
  12. I am on standalone and stuck at 50kbps downloading the update. I have fast internet and nothing wrong with it atm. Is there any alternative to download the update? Gonna take me weeks at this rate
  13. A sad day for his family and aviation enthusiasts everywhere. His was the definition of a life well lived.
  14. this looks fantastic. I will give it a go tonight and post feedback
  15. I'm trying to mod the FW-190D9's cockpit engine sounds. I have successfully changed the external sounds but I am having trouble figuring out the file structure for the internal sounds. Has anyone tried this recently? It's the only warbird yet to have a sound overhaul by ED
  16. Has anyone had any success in this? I have been able to change the exterior sounds using this mod https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3221996/. The mod also features internal sounds which don't seem to work. I am putting the files in saved games as with other mods. I have also tried jsgme with the same result.
  17. thanks for all the hard work that goes into the warbird sounds. They are the best I have ever heard in a sim
  18. the spit is the only plane I can get kills reliably in with in multiplayer. It totally clicks with me and I love it. My brain is too smooth to make 300iq energy fights, and when I fly the spit, "just turn" seems to work well enough
  19. looks fantastic. looking forward to trying it out
  20. thanks, I'd imagine as a campaign maker this kind of thing gets old pretty fast
  21. Hi reflected figured I'd give BNBOB another whirl. I'm on mission 3 and seem to be unable to progress after forming up with transport white flight over the airfield. The next part of the mission does not trigger. I've attempted it twice and had a friend confirm it. Just thought I'd give a heads up here if anyone else is stuck
  22. Yes I have played through 4 missions so far. First of all thanks for using the gorgeous channel map. The decision to use German instead of accented English was a good one, even though I don't speak it the immersion is high, especially when paired with the ww2 radio mod. Leading the entire squadron from the get-go is a nice change I can get used to as well. The choices on how to engage targets (eg. bombers in mission 2) was really well done, I liked that. I loved the intro "cutscene" with the staff car. Never seen anything like that in a DCS campaign and it shows what can be done with some clever scripting. So far easily one of my favourite campaigns. The atmosphere created from the voice overs, mission variety and static unit placement on the base is awesome. Highly recommend this to anyone who has the channel map. I'll probably save the rest until the new DM is in for Sp content on the 18th so I can really enjoy the flying artillery brigade that is the A8:thumbup: P.S: Mosquito campaign - you know we need it :megalol:
  23. in your kneeboard reflected has put a quick reference for power settings for different phases of flight
