  1. I think what you are finding is the truth of the situation. The MiG15 seems to be the superior fighter. Don't take my word for it . Listen to the actual MiG and Sabre Jet Pilots themselves. In this 44:00 minute video the actual Pilots of both the Sabre Jet and MiG15 tell it like it is. Go to the 25:25 mark of the video to hear the pilots describe the guns effectiveness of each ship. 5ryz5Mu5gZA
  2. While it may be disappointing that some bugs aren't fixed on each patch , I can remember a time when auto updating was not a part of DCS and all the modules were separate large downloads that included the whole world. With the introduction of a separate DCS world and then all the modules as plugins, followed by the automatic update system I think they did a heck of a job unraveling all the spaghetti. At least now small patches are frequent and possible without much hassle for the user. With Edge coming online I can live with a flicker on the runway for a while. If edge comes soon enough I could care less if they fix the minor bugs in the current world.
  3. Thanks for posting this topic. I was noticing this the other day and thought maybe my video card was beginning to fail.
  4. Turn off rudder assist . It's under options special. Comments like yours are so special and welcome to so many.
  5. This is the same thing I found. 1st off let the Dora hit the runway at a low angle of attack while dropping the throttle as you go but don't stall. Do not flare too hard or it wants to fly again. When you're coming in think BRAKES BRAKES BRAKES. As soon as you touch down you need to be on the left and right brakes instantly. Throttle OFF and only after a few feet of that pull the stick back to lock the tail wheel. It's pretty tricky for me without toe brakes but I use the two buttons on the front of my X55 throttle and that works ish. If you want to see what it's like to have the sim do this for you. Set Auto Rudder on in Options and you will see this running off the runway go away on landings. Then replay your landing and watch from a chase view how the sim is working the rudder on landing. I can land now after understanding what is happening when I hit the ground and of course practice practice. I'm not a pilot but it does seem a little overdone ,the skidding, but the sim is just awsum. As said above unless you flew the real bird how would you know.
  6. UPDATE: IMPORTANT DISCOVERY RE LANDING DORA If you are having trouble landing the Dora. Just Land on the grass beside the airstrip. It's a completely different aircraft on the grass. Track attached. FW190 Lands Great On Grass.trk PS: Diveplane I'll be checking those new sounds out :)
  7. After numerous attempts at landing the Dora I think I may have discovered the reason for Germany's loss of WWII. It's no coincidence that of the 20,000 190's built during that period only a few survived war. It's obviously because very few survived their first landing. :) ALL KIDDING ASIDE :) I think a few factors are contributing to the success or failure of some individuals to land this bird. I myself do not own rudder pedals . If there was one DCS bird that I could use rudder pedals for with toe brakes this would be it. Pulling the stick back to lock the tail wheel ultimately leads to non intended rudder input with my twist stick. Also I am lacking a head tracker so looking over the nose for those without one is not easily done or an obvious option for people without Track IR or equivalent. I did map a cockpit camera up button to my joystick as a kind of pseudo solution. I seemed to have the most success landing when flaring just before stall and cutting throttle all together on touchdown. If I had any power on touchdown pulling back on the stick to lock the tail wheel caused me to lift off again. This is necessary because of my lack of pedals(IE: Toe Brakes). So My guess is the discrepancies in successful Dora landings in this thread is due to a wide variety of flight sim equipment or lack of flight sim equipment of the virtual pilots. On the other side of the coin I love the Dora in-flight and I generally don't have any trouble taking off either. Now for your viewing pleasure Some Real Life FW190 landings. It doesn't appear these RL pilots have any easier time of it except that the Dora doesn't seem to bounce as high on initial contact. Enjoy.
  8. More AXIS commands would be great for the F86. My x55 has a few rotaries sitting idle with this module.
  9. Brilliant Chuck. Bravo.
  10. Ya I wouldn't either if it was my wife. .
  11. Since Belsimtek let Chelsea go from the flight model team we can expect vast improvements in the F86 rudder behavior.
  12. Planning on purchasing a SSDD (Solid State Disk Drive) to run DCS World from. I currently have DCS World and modules installed on my C: Hard Drive. Is it possible to move the entire folder to the new SSDD and run it as is or do I have to reload the entire program and modules onto the SSDD ? I've tried searching the forums but I'm not finding anything relevant although I'm sure I've seen it discussed. Thanks in advance for any tips on this process.
  13. Thanks for your reply derelor. Sorry I do not have a track to send you. I was noticing this on Street Sweeper mission from F86 missions if that helps. If I do get track I will post it here.
  14. Have noticed from time to time the Air Brake Sound (Loud Wind) is absent when the air brakes are deployed. Also have had the opposite when switching airplanes mid mission after crashing my initial plane where the Air Brake sound is on but the Air Brakes are not deployed. The Air Brake switch located on the throttle is not implemented in the Beta it seems so the only way I can tell if the brakes are deployed is to go to an external view. This is really only a problem during dogfights for obvious reasons.
  15. Honestly as much as I love this SIM I wish they would focus on the sounds more. It trumps everything else.
  16. Thanks for bringing this topic up robert.clark . I 100% agree the sounds are not very satisfying. Although this is a beta version I'm really hoping the sounds will be enhanced. Otherwise the F86 is excellent and great fun.
  17. Amazing work Bunyap ! Much gratitude for your efforts. You certainly have a knack for this. Have bookmarked your youtube channel.
  18. PRESS S and DO NOT RELEASE S (To enable nose steering) before and during your Taxi to the runway ! Be gentle on the throttle. When you are centered on the runway and moving straight ahead a few meters then you can Brake and release S. If you can map the nose steering key to your joystick all the better. Hitting and releasing S will make you crazy. :joystick: Also most hard landings will result in your nose gear not retracting on the subsequent takeoff.
  19. Thanks Belsimtek/ED for the awsum module. I used to build these planes out of model kits and run around the front yard making jet noises while holding the the model in the air in my hand. So to have this module is just great. One of the things that always struck me about these early jets was the mirror or chrome like finish on the aircraft skin. In the actual sim I see some of that but the skin appears kind of gray. I notice in Wags announcement and the startup video that the skin seems more chrome like than in my system. I also noted that the startup video was done with the Edge 2.0 engine check at about 3:00 to see what I mean. Anyone with more knowledge than me about video effects please comment. Thanks
  20. ED is underfunded and overworked. You bastards need to buy whatever they come out with next. No questions asked.
  21. I Respect how hard you are trying to make everything perfect but that's impossible. At this point in time DCS has become a Helicopter Sim. We have the Black Shark the Huey and the MI-8. The only comparable fixed wing aircraft aircraft are the A10 and P51 Sell something new now. Nevada or whatever doesn't matter. This will ensure your success. You are a great company and you need income .
  22. It's not that hard bro. You can Create Fast Mission from the menu and select Start From airborne to get you flying right away. Later create a fast mission where you Start From Runway. The plane will already be started and running and ready for takeoff. Fly around some and forget about the manuals for a while . Just fly. Then as time permits learn what you want ie: How to start the plane. How to use weapons. Try landing etc. There's tons of videos on Youtube. That's my 2 cents. Hope you don't give up.
