  1. Yep, right there in the readme, WHQL only for the 290's. All others recommended to stay with 9.2. Out
  2. AMD Catalyst 13.11 WHQL Download 13.250.22 unofficial http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/amd_catalyst_13_11_whql_download.html Out
  3. Yes have them add the MFD's by all means and while your at it let them know you were the one who found the proper workaround! Again nice work! Out
  4. I have also reported this workaround to TM Tech support as a better one then opening the game controller properties and leaving it open. Out
  5. Nice work buedi! This fix absolutely works! I am looking at my MFD's right now and they are solid green and functioning fine. I have rebooted, shut down and restarted. In my case I am using a USB HUB and I found the two ports I was using, gathered the VID as stated in the article and then switched the power management to "0" or off in the registry as instructed. Done! Don't forget to reboot after the registry edit... Thanks again for the heads up buedi. Out
  6. Between Asus and BenQ choose Asus. I own several of their LCD/LED monitors. All good. Out
  7. Respectfully, your expectations may be too high. Windows 8.1 was not released till very recently. TM would not even acknowledge the problem until they had the official release version. They are working on it now. We will likely have to wait a bit for TM to produce a new Win 8.1 driver for the MFD's. In my dealings with them through tech support their email responses have been quick and courteous. I know it is not ideal but at least we have a work around until the new driver (clunky as it may be). Out
  8. Truly spoken like some one that has no idea. Specifically what are the "so many problems" you are referring to? Out
  9. This is so far the only device I am having an issue with under Windows 8.1. On another note...When running windows 8/8.1 if you prefer to have the old F8 boot menu see this link. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/enable-the-f8-key-in-windows-8/ Without enabling this legacy boot menu there are instances in Win 8 when experiencing boot issues where you simply cannot access some of these modes at all. I highly recommend running the command in either Windows 8 or 8.1 Out
  10. Opening the game controllers properties window and minimizing it will keep them from flashing and they will function properly. I imagine they will flash on every boot until you repeat this procedure, unless you set up a script to run the applet and open properties on every boot. Out
  11. The problem is with Microsoft's new "selective suspend" feature. Below is the response I received from TM support. "Regarding your MFD COUGAR Pack. Thank you for your reply. The 8.1 update of Windows 8 brought a change to how the USB ports are managed by the operating system. In order to save energy, the USB ports will be automatically disabled when there is no device connected or the connected device is on standby. Your MFD panels do not send any signals to the PC when not being used, causing Windows to think the device is on standby and thus shutting the USB port down. Since this change will impact a vast number of USB devices, we are currently waiting for Microsoft's official position on this update. In the meantime, we are recommending you to open the Gamecontroller and access the Properties tab and leave it open in the task bar; this might prevent Windows from seeing the device as on standby. We rest at your disposal for any further inquiries." Out
  12. I tried this. It appeared to work but then upon reboot the flashing commences again. I have turned off selective suspend and then in device manager turned off the power management functions for the USB ports/root hubs. TM did email back. They said for now the workaround is to open the Gamecontroller applet and access the Properties tab and leave it open in the task bar. I noticed that this works earlier but it is kind of a sucky solution. Hopefully there will be an updated driver soon. Out
  13. I have begun setting up to fly again using my 46" LCD TV as a monitor. I will purchase my third and final copy of FC3 and my first copy of the Mi-8 beta this week during the excellent 60% off sale going on from Sept 20-28th. I can't find a good spot for TIR at this time. On top of TV is too high, below it too low. I need to be able to slide a chair in front of the TV and rudders and quickly get the HOTAS running in NASCAR pit crew like record times. Any ideas for a quick easy modular setup options would be appreciated. Photos please, particularly of mounting the HOTAS controls. No desk shots or Akers Barnes photos though, I already have a these and ruled them out. This setup is for use in a living room in front of a TV only. I need to be able to move it into and out of place easily. Thanks and I am looking forward to any suggestions you may have. Out
  14. Best of luck to you Tyger and to all the members of the 74th! Be well. Out
  15. I really like the sound of the Creative X-fi cards and the PAX modified drivers. Use them in all of my systems. I never use the onboard sound myself and do not regret it one bit as I find them to be inferior in general terms. On the plus side my X-Fi cards have been around through several operating systems and new builds right up to and including my current Windows 8 installs and represent a good value for their great quality sound and long life in system after system. 16. Very Cool! Thank you for your efforts. Out
  17. Looks like the type of inflammatory post a fanboy would write. What's your agenda? Have you been mistreated by all the nasty Warthog owners who love their gear? :megalol: Out
  18. Between the two choices you offer I would take the CH gear any day. Out
  19. Push to talk instead of voice activated>? Out
  20. Post and PM over at their forums. I am sure you will get Craig or Rob's attention. They should be able to help. Out
  21. I should think at that high a resolution DCSW might look like a painting or at best a slideshow despite your current hardware and proposed graphics configuration upgrade. But I am not sure. Wish you the best regardless. :) Out
  22. AFAIK, DCSW utilizes 2 cores, one for sound and one for everything else. Still Quad core or better is a good idea for all else. Out
  23. Those are not the setting I would be altering. Try, Water settings to Medium or low Visib Range to medium or low Shadows to medium or low I suggest you experiment and find the best combination of settings for these options. These should have a significant impact on performance. Out
