AFAIK If the second PC has paid AC modules to be used by a client those modules would need to be separately purchased and activated for each machine. OTOH, if the second machine acts as a server only or the only client flyable used on it is the included free SU-25T you could do this, many do. Out

It is beta mate. Maybe you don't have the right sort of temperament to deal with it? Many people are flying and enjoying themselves in MP even now. I see the 104th and other servers pretty full each night. Mustang just posted in this thread that he had a 4 hour sortie with 13 kills last evening. He persevered. Take a lesson from those that do or don't complain and wait till the patch. You can choose but bashing the beta as alpha and insults only make you appear small. Try to be happy. It suits you better ;) Out

I believe that quality is of great concern. It is obvious to me. Members of the beta team spend many hours bug hunting and the developers spend countless additional hours fixing the bugs and improving the code all the time. This is a complex simulation and the beta team is taking the time to address MP stability before the next update. I am perfectly happy to wait for it. Great things take time and AFAIK there are many people flying on the 104th and other community servers every day and thoroughly enjoying themselves regardless. :D You could always wait until all is out of beta if you choose to. Waiting on the latest release of the control panel for the TFS3 now. It will add some further enhancements to vibes for DCSW AFAIK. The TFS3 is a slow moving project for sure but even at this stage the results are far better then a traditional butt shaker speaker driven device. The Ivibe TFS3 is a true FFB device not a rumble seat based on a speaker driver. This fact makes all the difference in the world. Out

Skate did you selectively edit that quote or what? You left off the last part of the post. "THE LEAKED BETA 13.2 IS AN UNFINISHED DRIVER SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO TEST FRAME LATENCY, WITH NO FINAL QA COMPLETED ON ANYTHING ELSE IN THE DRIVER. PLUS OTHER GOODIES INTENDED FOR THE REAL 13.2 ARE MISSING. DO NOT INSTALL IT IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT BETA." Many of us do actually understand the concept of beta drivers and like to test. Out

Thanks Mustang! For continuity I have removed the link and my previous post. Out -
Get Windows 8 and then download Classic Shell http://www.classicshell.net/ and you will not have to get used to anything different. You can have both the classic start menu of your choice (Windows 7 if you prefer) as well as the Metro screen to choose from under Windows 8. Out

Geforce 310.90 driver released
PoleCat replied to Mustang's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Have you considered that this error may not be caused by the drivers themselves? Particularly if you have the same problem with several different driver versions. If that is the case then it could be the card itself or a system level problem. Out -
What is the best Joystick for this awesome simulation
PoleCat replied to hamodi99's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1. Twist rudder is unrealistic. Most realistic are rudder pedals. I would not have bought the WH if it had incorporated a twist rudder, IMO that feature should be restricted to the lower end HOTAS products as it is now. 2. FFB. Who needs a stick that shakes if you have an iVibe seat that does it instead. Much higher quality and more elaborate effects then a FFB Joystick can and will ever produce. As you point out yourself it is much more like having your "butt in the seat" of the real thing. There you have it, the TMWH is now a 100% solution......done! :D Out -
With the exception of the Graphics card, the deal that you linked to looks pretty good for that money. I concur with all of Skatezilla's advice. Off hand I would advise you that 700 beans will get you something but do not make the mistake of believing it will be a top performer. It may run everything you need it to but it will be at varying degrees of performance relative to the money spent. Also buying a prebuilt is usually going to yield a higher price and a bit less performance then your own custom build. Best of luck! Out

Buying trackir tonight + questions
PoleCat replied to TonyStovepipe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Good for you. Becomes like a HOTAS in its usefulness. Once you are used to it, you will not fly without it. The price is not high at all if you consider how many years you can enjoy a single TIR for. Well worth it IMHO. Enjoy it! Out -
Windows 8 Controller Issues...
PoleCat replied to 531-Ghost's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No worries Ghost. I will set it up tomorrow and check it out. I assume I just need the latest CH CM software? Happy Holidays! Edit: Ghost, I installed CM 4.55 selecting only the installation option for the MFP specifically. Happy to report that the software and hardware appear to function perfectly well under Windows 8 x64. I tested a few buttons etc. Let me know if you need anything more and I will do what I can to help. I may be able to borrow a CH Pro and throttle from the same friend short term if you want me to test those. He also has the Throttle quadrant. At any rate it is certainly looking just fine for CH controllers so far under Windows 8. Out -
Most would disagree that FC2 is a better game experience then DCSW and FC3 beta. Also FC3 is a beta release. You know that right? So is Combined Arms. You know what Beta means? Give it some time. Enough said. Out

Windows 8 Controller Issues...
PoleCat replied to 531-Ghost's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Both the Cougar and the Warthog and their respective software work without issue under Windows 8 x64 for me. I have the CH MFP on loan from a friend although not installed or set up. If you would like I could try setting it up under Windows 8? Out -

Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
PoleCat replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Four pages later the solution is a complete re-install of the OS? This is why I bought a TrackIR. It just works. You don't have to screw around every time a new simulator comes out to get it to work. Still if you have time and no money it is the only game in town for free head tracking. Better than nothing certainly. Glad you got it working. Out -
Single GPU and AMD at that IMHO. 7XXX series. I have 3x28" displays on my 6970. I am considering a 3GB 7950 or 7970 right now for the extra memory. The Nvidia cards are also great but I am not sure how many monitors are supported on a single card. AFAIK some of the newer Nvidia 6XX cards do support 3 displays, not sure about more than that though. AMD can typically support up to 5 or 6 displays on their higher end cards using eyefinity. Best of luck! Out

nvidia vs radeon which is best for dcs
PoleCat replied to Pipe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Both manufacturers make great cards and produce excellent drivers. There is no better here only different reasons for choosing one over the other. Out -
You need a separate copy for each machine you want to play it on. AFAIK ou don't need to have two copies of the sim running to use HELIOS in networked mode.. Out
-
No problems for me with any of these. All working fine under Windows 8. I have not tried HELIOS yet though I bet it will work. TrackIR does, Cougar/Warthog does, TFS3 (ivibe) does. Multiple displays work perfectly fine using both Nvidia and AMD drivers under Windows 8. Out

I never said I had problems under Windows 7. I did not have many problems at all under Windows 7 aside from the very rare and occasional crash due to a driver or software issue (I have 3 gaming rigs on my LAN). My point is that I have had even less crashes under Windows 8. More stable. Get it...More! Boots faster, runs all my gaming hardware and software, crashes less, better file copy interface, best of both GUI's. Out

Absolutely dead wrong. I would wager you have not bothered to try it as a gaming platform if you make such a statement. It is all of the things you mention but it is also every bit as much a desktop/gaming/productivity OS as Windows 7. Out
