MS Sidewinder FFB 2 Question
Nopileus replied to MACADEMIC's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Put a bit of tape on one of the sensor holes. Just make sure to unplug the joystick when not in use, so FFB isn't always on when the PC is idle. -
Freetrack + Track Clip Pro
Nopileus replied to arkroyale048's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1. Get PS Eye 2. Remove IR filter 3. ??? 4. Profit Due to Freetrack being terrible and buggy i caved and bought a TrackIR, but this was before the pointtracker for FTnoIR. When it worked the PS Eye delivered very good results. -
Inside view of TM HOTAS Warthog

He does that so its easier to wire up for most people, especially when using the push-in connectors. If in doubt just try it with two switches first. Looking at the micro on the board it seems to have plenty of legs to provide 32I/O pins, there will be no matrix on the pcb, so common ground should not only be possible but is already in place.

There is this often disregarded thing called "Copyright"
-
Its actually not "huge" news, would he try selling the Module without a license it'd be illegal :smilewink:

Since you are in the UK your best bet would be getting a used copy off Amazon.co.uk, this should cost you around 5£. Digital versions only exist in the USA from Amazon.com and Ubisoft.

Thrustmaster Warthog: Think I Found a Good Price
Nopileus replied to Juris's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It isn't, most stores just don't keep a large stock of them since they are an incredibly niche product. -
Read the Product page, it does. Leo even sells the right rotary switches. If you want to use rotary encoders you just connect them to two normal inputs, to the encoder they are just two momentary buttons.

The instrument lighting only creates a little glow around the instruments but doesn't actually illuminate them
-
I think we can conclude that the reason for this is improper instrument lighting. The current way may look good, but is by no means functional. I hope Belsimtek reads this and improves on it accordingly.

GroovyGameGear however is from the US, which still makes the bodnar products the most viable choice.

If i make these holes any deeper it would go into a part of the housing that doesn't turn with the pedals, that way the whole thing would lock up. Those screws might have a different head but are both 50mm long and use the same M4 thread, i also pre drilled the hole so they go in all the way. They are also screwed straight down, it just bends this way once the dampers put force on it. I surely made sure if it fits beforehand, but the structure just doesn't seem to be able to take it. Maybe the dampers i got are stronger than yours (100N). Edit: See here http://imgur.com/a/OH2Vl The outer "barrel" and the inner disc are turning, but the part in between does not. The screws were almost at this non spinning part already, but if they go into it the pedals will lock up.

And how exactly does a fluid simulation help us in a flightsim? Even for naval operations you wouldn't need something that complex. You have to understand that you can't just bolt on stuff like this and expect it to solve everything. Neither can you expect running flightmodels and the like on a GPU, its much more complicated than that I'm suprised that this thread actually survived for this long, PhysX is simply not meant to be used for simulations, its an easy way to integrate physics into your game engine and create nice looking effects.

I have just attempted the gas spring mod, it was however unsuccessful. The springs cause the entire mechanism to bend which introduces a lot of stiction. Luckily the plastic is very flexible, so nothing broke and i could reverse it. On the photo you can see quite well how the whole thing bends and lifts out about 5mm on one side.

This is how it looks by the way, same effect with unmodded NVGs. I just don't understand why they seem completely dark and not blindingly bright. Note the non-working lights on some gauges, this is a known bug AFAIK.

Für ein Profil schau dich einfach mal in den User Files um und filtere nach 'A-10C' und 'Device Profiles' http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/

Cheers, that'll do as an answer.

Not something he can do anyway, he just edits the textures and not the 3D model.

I am not sure if this is a bug or if you even have the means of changing this, but i will report it anyway. Flying the night mission in the campaign i have found that it is impossible to read most of the cockpit gauges while using night vision goggles. Both lit and unlit gauges appear very dark, almost pitch black. This happens with both standard and modded NVGs, and does not happen in both Ka-50 and A-10C.

After a while i have noticed that the bug i reported in the first post is still present. However, it only seems to appear under certain conditions though i'm not quite sure what these are. I have a hunch that it depends on if i have guns/rockets mounted or not since i noticed it on most clean flights, but not in the last few campaign missions i did which were all flown armed. If you guys could look into this once more that'd be great.
