  1. ok looks like its a mod problem. Im using the essex set of mods. What happens is when the aircraft spawns it literally drops on to the desk maybe 5 ft which collapses the gear. On a side not without the mods the AI aircraft still dont launch from the tarawa.
  2. perhaps its my mission. Will create a new one and try again. Relooked at the main mission and again the landing is partially retracted when the aircraft appears on the carrier. Also AI aircraft are having a problem taking off.
  3. Harriers that ramp start from the harrier will not take off in 2.5.1. They are stuck in space as the ship passes out from under them. Also if you go in the harrier from a tarawa ramp start your landing gear is collapsed.
  4. I thought the main complexity is not in Helios but in the export.lua that sits behind helios. I went through mine and Cpt Zeen made all sorts of updates in there to make it work. That is where I take a header. I looked at Ikarus and it only really works if you use a single monitor for the interface. We with Lilliput monitors cant use that.

  7. ok so more discovery I have two lilliput monitors that are 800 by 600. To get the buttons on those screens I have to create a background layered image that is 1600 by 600, Map the MFD image layers onto this background, then lay it down as panel 1 in the configuration. then I can align buttons to the image. I still dont understand how to enter the DCS id into the switches though if I start from scratch. Whomever wrote this software should be able to give us a hint. And unfortunately Im not a good enough artist to come up with an image like that hat has transparency to the mfd image shows in the MFD.
  8. ok if I hit editor mode how do I get out. Are there any instructions on editing. OK there appears to be a hierarchy to this system. You need to create a background then place buttons on the background. Correct? Also how do you add the DCS link. It wont let you in the switch detail
  9. well I got this program to work but I need to understand how to break out panels. I have small touchscreens for my mfd's which work with helios but not this. I cant figure out how to move the buttons around the screen. they dont show up when I put them into position. Any tutorials for this.

  11. Im putting Ikarus on my weekend to do list. Has anyone done a comparison between helios and Ikarus? Is one easier to deal with. Ive been able to get Helios running mainly from Capt Zeens profiles. When I have to make my own Im stuck. Looking for an easier method.

  16. Have mods loaded in user/mod/tech under saved games. I get the following error with several mods I have. Dont know if this is a mod error or game error. says Obsolete mount_vfs_sound_path used in ...... many mods
  17. HI Taylor Using the mod and they look wonderful. Downloaded all the ships so the graphics are working properly. In my log Im picking up an error however. Looks like its having a problem identifying the path to the sound files. You know this may be a dcs thing. Also the rate of fire on the 127mm guns is off. They fire like shotguns.

  19. I placed the Saipan folder in the tech folder but dont see the entry in the editor. path from openbeta is \MODS\tech\USS Saipan 2
  20. I see buildings in Georgia but there is no collision with them. Vehicles drive right through.

  23. does this reliably work. In my mission it seems to be hit and miss. AI.Task.WeaponExpend.ALL Is the syntax correct?
