Create markpoints v. steerpoints w/ flightplan for targets.
HugePanic replied to jeproject's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
i am pretty sure the average hog driver is faster remembering 5 letters (or writing them on the canopy) than creating a new flight plan.... If you are using the mark points a lot, you could run out of 25 points you have. so maybe you need to store more in a flightplan??? -
How does the MWS detect Maverick and ARM launches?
HugePanic replied to eFirehawk's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
and that is, I guess, one of the reasons the pilots tell the others over radio that they launch anything. The MWS made me mad after I found out what it all is about... -

Whats the fastest way to find target distance?
HugePanic replied to Shadoware's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
the fastest way??? --> guessing! how long is on target?? How many "lenghts" are between your targets?? -
Dropping MK-82s in CCRP mode - worth it?
HugePanic replied to eFirehawk's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
use MK84's instead! you don't need to hit the tanks directly then. :) -
if you move the switch one stop (to left or right). you have still some hope... if you move it over two positions (from left to center to right) you know to pray or to eject soon....

Help with multi-monitor and Shkval/ABRIS
HugePanic replied to -Ice's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the same problem with creating/modifiing the lua files. The "trick", is to modify one existing file to fit your needs. You should also start small. with just one mfcd. First insure that your lua file is used correctly, anything else comes after that... -
Hi, after playing around with the UH-1 timetrial missing, i was guessing of something like for the A-10. I always use the "sitting ducks" mission for test of my joystick configuration, so i played around that one. Configuration: -Sitting Ducks Mission -Std. weapons (as given in the mission) Target: destroy all targets (Shilka, West and East-Group) in minimum time. --> Stay alive Needed time can be proven with the TRK file. My first run was veryvery uggly, in about 7min 23sec. Iused tacview to get the exact time the last targed got destroyed I am sure there is a lot of margin to improve... :joystick: Who´s next? TimeTrial_sitting_ducks_1.trk

since the most part of the A-10 is a gun... so that´s very probable that the gun gets damaged...

Don't forget to install the no-rudder-trimm mod, directly after installation. Makes flying much more comfortable. LStrg+Enter also helps a lot at the beginning. Insure you also know the keys for trim reset. LStrg+t Have fun

I have always had the idea of starting a cockpit build sometime... Right now I am not really sure about that. Sure it is great to have real switches and instruments. But for a "total immersion" you would need many many screens and stuff.... The different approach would be the rift, or any similar device. All the switches have to be clicked with the mouse, and taking notes (jtac) will be a PITA. Given a good display resolution, I would not have to use zoom function, but I could use it as binoculars... Beside joystick (hotas, collective, ...) I would only need a mouse. Finding the mouse with the left hand should not be any problem... On the other hand I have a perfect cockpit in every aircraft, ALL is working as-designed. I have full 3d effects and maybe also sound.... Let the future Rift+ (with upgraded resolution and DCSW support) cost 1000$, it will still be pretty cheap compared to cockpit build... So what do you think?

That is NOT a autopilot, these are "dampers"! -
Question to MSFFB2 owners
HugePanic replied to Hunden Ynk's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Maybe there is just some friction added at your assembly?? Can you just loosen some of your own installed bolts and things, to see if it helps. -
Just want to show you my MS-Sidewinder ForceFeedback2 mod. The stick allways lacked some more buttons, especially in the A-10. So i found some more 4 way-Buttons (plus center-button) to add to the stick. They replace the buttons 3 and 4 at the stick. (i actually remove the complete buttons from the stick) I have now 2 more 4-way switches, great for TMS and DMS. If you click the 4-way-switches, i have the old function programmed that the button 3 and 4 did pre modification. I "simply" routed the wires through the stick-handle and connected it to a BBI-32 from http://www.leobodnar.com. It all worked the first time, i am really happy with the result. I just have to re-learn the new buttons for the simulation and do the ka-50 button-setup..... In theory there is is more space in the stick for more buttons, but in reality it was pretty hard to get all that cables out of the stick, since on some areas it is really a tight fit. So 10 cables is ok, much more will be a larger problem. 4-way switch: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10063 USB-Interface: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=205

If you stay above 13000ft, you should avoid some more defense types. There are several sources for data, here is something I have copied together:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109015

In dcs you will need a mouse anyhow, so you can zoom with the mousewheel... No reason to wait for an button!! I wait for resolution and "official support" only...

Is trim reset the same as Trim T/O?
HugePanic replied to JayPee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think the ka-50 does not have a trimm reset button in the cockpit. But you really need a button like that, while you learn how to fly the shark. So they needed to model that switch, and never removed it.... -
