  1. I just wanted to post my version of the same/similar solution... Attached you will find the sheet and my way to use it... I have printed and laminated the sheet. Then i can write and clear it with a with a erasable pen IFR_Plan_Sheet.pdf
  2. 1:26 here i think it can be done at least 10-15sek. faster. A-10_landing_contest.trk
  3. some people just use the mouse for looking. with middle-mouse-btn you can move your head around in the cockpit. works perfectly on the Dora and much more precise with any HMD (e.g. KA-50).
  4. Can you explain that? First: If i drain the rear tank first, then the COG will move forward. --> you increase elevator loading --> that is usually not benificial for the agility Second: why not use the fuel selector and close the rear tank? isn't that what is meant to be? In the end the circuit breaker is a circuit breaker, and not secondary flight control... thank you
  5. Some good read of "how to loft a bomb" http://www.amazon.de/Carrying-Nuke-Sevastopol-Plutonium-English-ebook/dp/B006RUP71Y
  6. ...take off are easy now.... ...landings the FW is pretty much easy once you have found how it works...... So what's next??? ${1}
  7. i was shot severe yesterday. Half wing and tail missing, but the engines worked like new... On several other missions i "just" lost one engine, but not both... so no change from my experiences of yesterday...
  8. during the time you have posted this, i have used my MSFFB2 to fly about 15 patterns in the dora..... :) I am using this stick since more than 10years. I have never used a non ffb stick on IL-2 or DCS. It just feels nice. Trim-force is also nicely modeled. It is available... --> ebay I haven´t heard from any wear or problems on this stick, so you could by a used one. I have modded my stick with more bottons for the A-10, but that´s another story..
  9. why not buy yourself a ForceFeedback joystick? It´s christmas, isn't it?
  10. it is very helpfull, if you can control it! nice trick to dump engergy fast. After that, you can get an advantage if your oponent cannot regain engery as fast as you... or your oponent is dumb, and just overshoots....
  11. just download and install iDisplay on your PC and tablet. then you can bring a copy of the shkval to the tablet. Works pretty well, with a slight delay. but ok for shkval...
  12. Wthout too much thinking... The elevator moment should be about the same, independent of the height. Due to the reduced density, you would need a larger deflection (AoA) on the elevator, creating a larger stick-force. That could be a reason, but I also could miss many aspects.....
  13. that's a great find. Especially since it is modeled good. Talk to the ground crew to setup the config file.. ;)
  14. I don't thin you can determine if a plane us noae heavy only by the position of the trim dial. From flying, i don't feel anything like a nose heavyness....
  15. No, she doesn't. But with a FFB-stick you don't car. I just put the stick to the "trimmed" position and take my hand from the stick. This deactivates the FFB and she is trimmed. Even if you keep your hand on the stick, it's not an issue for me. I just ignore the rudder-trim issue and waste 1% performance...
  16. in order to proof that DCS is a good simulator, i have to request a BF-110 to proof that Kurfürst is right!! :pilotfly:
  17. some more facts: Aileron installation an adjustment manual can be found here: http://www.avia-it.com/act/profili_daerei/libretti_velivolo/PA_libretti_PDF/Fw-190_Part_3.pdf That document is not for Dora, but for the A-2 to A-6 variant. To help you guys: It says to trimm at max. contious power at ground level --> 480km/h Maybe there were updated values for the Dora.
  18. I have read a book of one guy who did thousands of factory rides on new spitfires. He was the guy who told the mechanics to adjust the trim tabs. There was a factory setting specificatin for this. I truly belive that Focke Wulf did the exact same thing. There is a spec, and that is what it is trimmed for. I don´t think that the average "Luftwaffe Pilot" did the calibration runs to adjust a airplane for his personal idea... The problem you (some of you) guys have, is that you use a spring centered joystick! Use a FFB stick, and you are set. What is it with trimming in DCS? In the KA-50 people don´t understand the trimm function. In A-10 they are complaining/wondering that if you drop a MK82 from one side of the wing, that the airplane will need to be retrimmed. At DORA, did the Germans screw up the design of the FW190?? Or did DCS ruin your game with a plane that build like it was 70years ago? Come on...
  19. The most important part is to position your plane on the centerline and stop it there! Release all brakes Count "twentyone, twentytwo" THEN From this point, you only steer with the rudder.. Pull stick fully aft, and apply FULL power.... takeoff ....
  20. what do you expect?? Drag = 0,5 x density x speed² x frontarea x Cd so if speed doubles, the drag is 4times as big... the efficiency of the engile might also be worse at high RPM...
  21. Does this only happen on the ground, or also mid air? Have you checked other aircraft?
  22. Both the BF-109 and the FW190 did not fly for several hours. Itś more in the area of 90min.
  23. just do a longer approach with a heavy aircraft. Than check the speed and jettison all you can... check the speed....
  24. in real life you usually have way more cover in form of trees, holes, sandbags and other stuff. this means that the pilot has a very hard time to see infantry. It also means that infantry usually has very little time to aim and shoot, if the airplane comes in VERY low and fast. In vietnam the hueys used to come in as low as possible to a landing zone. After that, they "jumped" over 1000m to avoid the AK's and .50 guns. So there are some ways for the A10 i see four options: 1. stay very high to avoid all SAMs mand manpads (at leas more than 13000 ft) 2. stay high to avoid "small" diameter AAA guns (6000ft) 3. stay above the AK-47 (900ft) 4. go as low as possible to avoid exposure
  25. A 7.62mm gun can easily stop your car by busring the engine block. So what do you think it does to a pile of aluminum sheets???
