  1. Did you see these pages?? If I see it right, there is a difference from elevator to aileron. In manual reversion, the elevator trimm tab is used for trimming only. At the aileron, the trimm tab is used to control the aileron. Would make sense, since you can apply more force pulling a stick than moving it sideways. You also need "more" elevator control than aileron control at landing....
  2. and where can we get the alpha?? (for testing??)
  3. like in real life... pilots seem to get this medel as they are flying like they are "immortal"...
  4. It is totally easy to put an mfd screen on an tablet by the way. Just download I display an transfer the MFD to the display.... The trick are the buttons. I asked ED to bring an update to allow snapview porting to external screens, but that's not working. Anyhow, if we can have an app for that, that's maybe even better....
  5. I have the 2012 and the 2013 version available.
  6. Hi, what I am really missing is a CDU app. The display on the upper, keyboard on the lower part of the screen! :) Maybe include the rotary buttons too. I tried to bring a snapview to my Tablett, but that seems not to work with viewports an iDisplay. If it works, I am willing to pay for it. If you need somebody for testing, I have both nexus 7 tablets here....
  7. Touch screen is actually working right boe. I can use my tablet as second monitor with iDisplay. On the tablet I can click buttons. I tried to find a way to bring the CDU display plus buttons to an external monitor, but it seems not to work without Helios or something like that...
  8. Hi, I do think you are right that there is no noticeable torque, but right now I think there must be some torqe from the jet engine. Every force createts it's 'counter' force. In the jet engines you have rotor blades and stator vanes. I think there is a torque from the vanes to the casing to the airframe. But due to its small lever, the force is relative small.... This is my current state of mind, maybe I am wrong....
  9. Both engines rotate in the same direction. So at least when you rotate you should see a slights yawing moment. I don't know if the engines are installed 100% on the axis at a-10. On propeller machines they can be installed off axis, to compensate non symmetrical forces at cruise speeds. At all other conditions you have to do some trimming depending on power setting..
  10. Why not use the mouse to click the button???? What am I missing at this point???
  11. Hi, I want to add some 4 way buttons to my mssff2 stick. I found these 4(5) way switches that should be good. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10063 Possible solutions I know: Mod a USB keyboard Mod a gamepad Arduino Leonardo Is there an easy "button to USB" adapter available that emulates a joystick or keyboard??? If I add three pads, I would need about 15plus different funktions. I would like to use something that works out of the box, with minimal modding. Thanks Me
  12. Also the shkval has to be able to see the laser. Otherwise the accuracy is very limited if you mark the target with HMS only.
  13. sure you need all/most of the buttons and switches. But how often do you operate the "throttle" for adjusting the power of the engines??? It's fully-opend most times. For inbetween you just move the throttle to some-place and it keeps there for another 5minutes orbiting around. so if you find a way to assign all the buttons to a mouse or other device, you can perfectly fly the A-10 without a "real" throttle-lever.
  14. By the: Most people have TWO hands. The right for the stick and the left is good for the mouse! Throttle is useless in the A10
  15. How many times have you (the pilot) been killed due to ground fire??? The best thing has to be the bathtub!!!
  16. They should restart, but i didn't try it...
  17. I guess this is how it was in BS1. The problem was that when you swith buttons on a MFD, the view is constantly moving. That really sucks...
  18. I guess "mouse look"... Or just type alt+C on the keyboard, it should display the command then...
  19. I used it for years in IL-2, most of that dogfights. Here the throttle is on the mouse wheel. At the A-10 usually you don't do too much with th throttle! It's full-opened most of the time. So I have the zoom on the mouse wheel, that's very handy. I also can view at the cockpit switches without putting my head in an wrong angle. It takes about 0.1seconds to adjust the throttle. Maybe it helps that I am a left-hander, with the stick in my right hand. Means my primary-mouse-hand operates the view control. It's completely natural for me now. In the shark the head-tracking was not accurate enough for the HMS. I have to say that for helicopter landings it was nice to not take hands of the mouse for collective-changes. The only option for me is oculus-rift. Just give the mouse a try, it's free and works...
  20. you should put ALT+C on an mouse button. I have it mapped on a extra button that i can use with my thumb. I tried freetrack, but i changed back to mouse look...... works perfectly for me...
  21. I request a triple-reck for mk-84's.... And some better engines... :)
  22. I think it does not matter how fast or high you are flying. I would also not use tacview itself. Just install tacview and use the Txt files that are created by DCS. Aim for a object (tank) and drop the bomb. All positions of the A-10, the bomb, the tank and so on are stored in the Txt file. So even if you miss the tank, it's all there. I am unsure about wind and weather, but that you can control in the mission editor. First get you own calculator running, and then search for the parameter for all the bombs...
  23. But it's only half of the fun if you don't create your data by yourself....
  24. Just because it is interesting: I fetched the height and time data from a MK-84. The resulting graph looks about correct. But there is not much drag, so I assume mk-84s are betten than they look. Very close to a perfect parable shape, but drag is visible. It's a little bit a PITA to lineup the coordinates and the time-frame without creating a macro. But it's doable....
  25. I was checking the text files that tacview uses yesterday. It excel readable, so you should be able to filter 3d coordinates from any object. No need for ta view then... Look what I found:http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-flight-recordings.php
