  1. Here’s a handy one page table showing all the surface-to-air threats and more with ranges and max. ceilings. http://www.dpsflight.com/F4AFindex.htm Click the ALR-69 Threat Warning System link and you’ll find it as a Word doc.
  2. For those players who like to return to base (rather than just pressing Esc) on completion of a mission the ability to quickly get a fuel figure would be very useful. Does it allow a 'Bingo' setting? F4AF owners already have this facility in the F-16s Data Entry Display CRUS function - although they do have to get back to base at the end of each sortie, or else. It would be nice to see this implemented in LO. Off-airfield dead-stick landings usually end in grief.
  3. £65,512.34 for a Harrier gate guardian - just a bit too expensive for me. As a matter of interest (a question for the devs here), what is the approximate cost of implementing each additional flyable aircraft in Lock On? Thinking more about fixed-wing here as I'm sure that the time and effort required for the Ka-50 will make that a massive undertaking.
  4. Another great video from GA. I’ve seen movies where missiles are followed to their targets but not shells fired from naval guns. And the CIWS looked great. I liked the music too but perhaps Barnacle Bill would have been more appropriate.
  5. Here's the up-to-date link. This campaign is one of my favourites. http://www.dpsflight.com/Su33OT.htm[/url] And here's the promo movie http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2590073549885844276
  6. Somebody's going to be busy. It's now on my new web site: http://www.dpsflight.com/Su27OC.htm
  7. I'd quite forgotten about this campaign. Here's the new link: http://www.dpsflight.com/A10OH.htm
  8. As soon as you select air-to-ground mode you will see the target diamond on the HUD (even if it is 200-300 Km away) and the icon will also appear on the HDD if you key up the range. You really do have to switch on the radar otherwise you don't get Launch Authorisation. Not sure if there is a minimum launch distance as I haven't tried that. Set yourself up so that you start 140 Km from the target. I always get LA at 120 Km.
  9. There is a guide to using the Kh-41 at the bottom of this page http://www.dpsflight.com/Su33A2G.htm Set up a shipping target about 200 Km from you in the Mission Editor. Naval vessels will try and shoot down incoming missiles so you will have to get the whole flight to launch their Kh-41s at the same time using the 'complete mission.../engage my target' command. Good luck.
  10. There is an F-15 training page on my web site http://www.dpsflight.com/F15index.htm which explains all the modes with pictures, text and typical key strokes. Hope it helps.
  11. Nice to read that ED and TFC are still turning their hand to new products like BS and TBS. Makes me think that LOMAC still has a lot of life left in it. But how about serving something up for this customer, i.e. me: for starters I fancy a nice Harrier GR.7, for the main course I think I’d go for a tasty Jaguar GR.1B and if I still have room I might try and squeeze in a Buccaneer - although I understand that the two-seaters are off the menu. So come on ED/TFC, how about something for us Brits.
  12. Just completed the first mission. Very nice, although my wingman elected to fly over an SA-6 site and died doing so. The F/A-18s got their job done. Still had a few problems even though I removed most of the Blue objects. My poor old Microsoft FFII even had a bad case of the judders for some reason (300 KIAS) until I was a good 10 or 15 miles clear of the airfield - not a problem I've had before. Anyway, lots of action. And I like the PDF type briefings. I had a go at a mission from the 'other' air combat sim yesterday. Flew all the way from Grotone Airport (Italy) to Belgrade and back again (mostly in x8 sim acceration) and nothing happened.
  13. F4AF is very good - as long as you don't leave the cockpit! LOMAC just can't be beaten for graphics.
  14. Had a go at the first two, but unfortunately just too many objects for my system to cope with. Any plans to produce a 'lite' version? Might have to ask Santa for a new PC. Looks as though you put a lot of work into these missions. Pentium D820 2.80GHz, 1024MB DDR2 memory, Radeon X700 Pro graphics card, Main Driver ati2dvag.dll version 6.14.0010.6543, DirectX 9.0c, Windows XP Media Center Edition.
  15. TDW, thanks for your efforts. I've downloaded the missions and will take a look at them over the next few days.
  16. This video/tutorial is really for the F4AF players but as half the images are taken from Lock On it might also be of interest to this community. Perhaps we will have Laser Guided Bombs in LOMAC in years to come. The newly modelled GBU-12 in FC looks pretty good. There is a preview on Google Video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1738510547355362344 But if you want to be able to see the HUD/MFD symbology you will have to download the wmv ZIP file here: http://www.dpsflight.com/F16LGBs_0001.zip The non-Lock On airframe is Kirk Olssen’s excellent freeware F-16 for FS9. There are also some treats for all you continuity buffs out there. DPS.
  17. Good video - well flown. Not so much How Low Can You Go as How Slow Can You Go.
  18. Good one, BGP. Every good business should have a good SlutKontroll department in place. I was going to do French and English subtitles too, however my interest in the project started to wane. The Russian chaps over on the other side of the forum seem to being enjoying it. The video is in fact based on my Su-33 campaign Operation Thunderclap which you can still find here: http://www.dpsflight.com/Su33OT.htm
  19. I've also just noticed a mis-spell in the ZIP file name. It should of course be Donnerschlag and not Donnerslag - probably the Germanic goddess of loose women!
  20. Yes, the AlphaSim Flanker is pretty fast; 0 to 1200 mph in no time at all. I always like to post my videos on the überkritisch German Ubi forum too – if anything just to see how quickly I get a swift boot up the behind for my efforts: http://forums-de.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/254106073/m/3671017854 I think 30 minutes might be a new record!!
  21. That's one of a little bundle of 'Flankers' I downloaded from AlphaSim for FS2004 a while back - in fact I think that is actually a Su-35. The d/l was very cheap and featured some great skins, although the flight modelling could do with being tweaked.
  22. Here’s a little movie featuring the Su-33 and the Kuznetsov. If you know the music (and Russian) you can sing along with it. Here’s the Google Video version: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2590073549885844276 And if you really want the better quality WMV file you can download it here: http://www.dpsflight.com/DonnerslagDE.zip DPS.
DPS
  25. I've watched the video a few more times and I'd say that the music/sound effects really make the movie stand out in a class of it's own. I'm still using Lock On with its original sounds - did you use one of the add-on sound packs or did you dub effects into the audio line in the editor? The sound of the Su-27s jet efflux is just awesome. Again, well done.
