When I first started my trim hat was somehow set to ctrl and hat after setting up. I re-mapped and all was fine.

Yesterday I was practicing using marks on the TAD after watching a couple of videos. One thing not covered on them was un-marking. While trying to figure it out I wound up with over a dozen marks. So the obvious question. How do you un-mark? Thanks

Yesterday I visited 4 different servers. Within 45 minutes I either had a game crash or the server went down. I think the number one priority should be to fix these issues before going any further with releases. By continuing to release more product with the same problem only makes it worse. I'm sure there are many out there that shy away from multiplayer because of the issues. Rant over.

How is the multiplayer experiance for beginners?
Hamblue replied to Burrem's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
First you need to learn how to start the aircraft if you don't know already. Also learn to use F10 so you can figure out where the runway is. Do NOT throw the arm switch before taking off. Do NOT shoot in the direction of a friendly player or vehicle or even town. Keep your eyes open when taking off and landing. Once again using the F10 view will show you where any planes are in relation to the runway. The first few MP flights I simply just flew around and even followed a couple of people. Make sure you give them room. Be aware that collisions will down the aircraft. After you get comfortable start with a single weapon system. Say the Maverick. Fly some missions with only that weapon until you get a handle on it. Then switch to a different weapon until you learn that one. Repeat for the rest. -
I couldn't get in any server. I did a re-install and it now works. Go figure. Hope it stays that way.

Consider yourself lucky to not have been hit before now. I've returned with 2 of 3 tires flat. When you land just let it drift off of the runway. Then start the APU and shut down the engines. After 4 mins the tires will return and you can taxi to re-arm and refuel

Do I need TrackIR to enjoy/play this game?
Hamblue replied to jreynol2's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Go ahead and order the trackclip pro. It's nice not having to wear a hat when using trackir. -
Are you able to stall the plane? Also make sure you don't have one of the settings to game mode. Like avaionics and flight

Try the Wags profile found in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59974&highlight=wags+trackir Also to make it a little easier when you look down, first look up some and hit the center button. Then when you look down it will be much easier.

You shouldn't have to install directx9. if you have 11 it should cover anything that comes before it. Try sound properties in windows. right click on the little speaker on the bottom right of your screen.
-
Did you try the axis settings?
-
Yes, with the 353rd. How's it going? Thought you looked familiar :)

They probably had debug code installed and removed it. Good to hear the improvement. I hope we start seeing more population in world now that the regular version is out.

Try cycling the throttle to full then off then Idle. I've been having to do that for a long time.
-
It all sounds good but in order to get anything out of it I think you'll have to have near full servers of 32 people. Actually they should make that number higher. At the moment I don't see it since there aren't usually more than a few people in a server. They need to find a way to populate servers with a good mix of player types.

Thanks Does that have to be done each mission or is it a one time deal?

Re-Loading DSMS Last Night I was half way to a target zone after landing and re-loading. I realized that the DSMS showed no weapons but they were clearly there. What is the procedure to re-poplulate the display? I tried every combinations possible for almost a half hour and couldn't figure it out. Thanks

have problem with trackIR 4 PRO
Hamblue replied to dmagnusson's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
When I talk about blotches I'm not talking about stains on the little droid unit. You should be running trackir 5 software (Even with your trackir 4) On the top right of the screen you will see 3 small buttons. Click on the far right one. This will bring up the heads up view. While in the heads up view click on display, then camera view. Now you will be looking at what the camera sees. With your track clip on you should see the 3 reflectors or 3 led's if you have the track clip pro. Anything else on the screen is interference that will affect the unit. Bright lights could also show and affect it. Now go back to the original screen by clicking on the left button on the top right of the screen. Click on the camera tab. In the selections you will see a line called light filter threshold. This is basically a filter to help keep out some of the unwanted background light. I have mine set at 240 but you can play with it to get the best results. Next you will see a line called IR brightness. If you have track clip pro turn the ir brightness all the way down. This will stop the light from reflecting off of your glasses if you wear them. (I had this problem once and shutting the ir light off helped) Also if you are wearing the hat clip you can turn down the ir brightness to once again reduce any reflections. As with the light filter, you can play to find what works best for you. Good Luck -
You may consider purchasing in the order you can use them. The DDR3 is good as long as it's compatible with your existing system. Many are DDR2 and below. Things that can be used are 1. Power supply. ( usually the first thing needed if upgrading) 2. Video card. Since the power supply was upgraded the video card should be supported and will give a good boost. 3. Mobo, CPU, Ram. Usually best to get together. 4. SSD. I would normally put it closer to the top but lately the prices have been dropping. If you have to wait it's a good one that might save money or get a larger one for the same price as today. 5. Operating system. An OEM copy of windows 7 home will support you to 16 gig of ram. 32 bit will only support to 3-4 gig. Higher versions will support more ram but not worth the extra cost imo. 6. Second Hard drive. Keep pictures, music etc on a 2nd driver and keep the ssd as empty as possible. A 2tb drive goes for just over a hundred bucks and worth having. Good Luck

I had the same problem with my warthog. Before starting the engines I have to cycle the throttles to max and then back down. After that everything works fine. Before that when I set to idle nothing happens and the throttle in the cockpit doesn't move. Give that a try with your throttle before starting. If that doesn't work try the full cycle and then bump it up just a tad. Good Luck

Warthog issues, no Response from TM
Hamblue replied to FunktasticLucky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I would try the phone. If push comes to shove and you have the ability, go ahead and fix it yourself. Nothing wrong with learning how to maintain the stick. -
have problem with trackIR 4 PRO
Hamblue replied to dmagnusson's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Another thing to try if you have another problem is to view the camera screen. If you see light blotches then it's picking up the light from the winodow. Sometimes it shows even with curtains. -
Here it is. Looks like it has lots of fixes and a claim to fix a stutter bug. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=365299
