  1. Funny Stuff Chidlid  Viper, Thanks, So running at lower settings helps other players? A couple of players said they had good pings but were getting low FPS. They were blaming the civilian traffic. I'll try lowering some settings. I have fios and measured speed is 30meg down and 24 meg up. My machine is built using a sabertooth mobo with i7 2600k running at 4 ghz. It also has 16 gig of ram, a 256 gig SSD and a GTX 680 video card.
  2. To keep it basic is there a way to turn off civilian traffic? I turned it off in both the game and the mission settings and it still shows up. Right now I'm working with Hard Core Terroritst.
  3. Coments have been made after the world beta release that mission and mod writers would wait until the final release. The reason is that things may change as a result of things found in beta.
  4. Hi When serving, what are the best settings to use? I had a remark from a player that the traffic is lagging them. I have a fast machine so everything is maxed out. Does the game settings on my machine get forced on everyone playing when I'm serving? Thanks
  5. Thanks Just wanted to know if I should add it when serving. It's on now :smilewink:
  6. Just curious How many actually use teamspeak when in on-line servers?
  7. In that situation I would simply suggest go to guns. A civilian target doesn't usually warrant a Mav. The 30mm will do the job just fine.
  8. I would suggest uninstalling what you have and installing 1.1.1.1 which is the latest verstion. There is a higher version but it's part of DCS world.
  9. A good Joystick choice for number 2 would be the Saitek X52 Pro. Make sure it's the pro and not standard which are a world apart IMO. You could also look deeper and try to find a way to do option 3. The warthog and Trackir. You can find deals on the warthog online and the Trackir 4 is a little cheaper than the 5.
  10. Would be nice if they get it released already so the mission writers can do their updates for compatibility.
  11. Hello All I switched over to world with the beta and no longer have the original A-10 software installed. I havent seen many people in the servers in world. Have they been more populated in A-10 original? If so it might be time to load A-10 again since it looks like things are going slow for world updates. Thanks
  12. Well on a positive note, the OP is now the resident X52 expert.
  13. If your throttle is reversed why are you taking it apart? Go into the settings in the axis section and click on the box that says reverse. That will fix your problem of backwards movement.
  14. Pedals are another step towards the full package. Essentials IMO are Hotas Stick and Throttle, Trackir, Pedals, Large or multi-screen, Good Headset. :joystick:
  15. Also known as Altitude Density. :pilotfly:
  16. You don't need us to convince you. Sounds like the little guy on your shoulder is already telling you. Get the Warthog and stop tormenting your self. :joystick:
  17. The gun sounded almost like a 50 cal. The rate of fire seemed like a third of what I've ever seen
  18. Corsair also has a couple of great sealed water systems that are priced decent. I run the H-60 and the case is much cooler. http://www.corsair.com/hydro-series-h60-cpu-cooler.html The radiator sits on the rear fan and dumps the cpu heat directly outside. They also have a larger H80 and H100. All are great for overclocking
  19. Whenever upgrading you shoud get the best that your budget can afford. While DCS may not use more than 2 cores, plenty of other programs do. And future programs, including DCS will continue to utilize higher end processors.
  20. I think they should hold all releases and concentrate on getting the current stuff working right. The biggest is the server crash issue. They are simply creating new products with the same crash bug. I wish they would fix it already.
  21. If practical for you, look into trackir. You'll never go back.
  22. I would save the money for the next rig. Your ram is probably DDR2. For a future rig you will probably be running DDR3 or higher, which won't be compatible. Going to 64 bit will allow you to use the entire 4 gig. Right now you're only using about 3 to 3.5 depending on your video card ram size.
  23. The SSD should win hands down. The seek is many times lower and the thruput in most cases is also much higher. The same Caviar drive hooked up to sata should also be faster.
