Will need a copy of your dcs.log as minimum and any other diags you can gather to see what might be happening. Have you done the standards: DCS Repair command DCS Cleanup command - Checks for MODS and other non-standard files Renaming and backing up your "Saved Games" Folder and recreating a fresh one. Put DCS into the whitelist or exceptions for no scanning activity in your Antivirus software to stop any interference with installation of updates. Re-testing DCS with these conditions met. Most of the issues with the ME are related to: 3rd party MODS being installed and becoming incompatible or only partially loaded after an update - most likely will show lua code errors in the dcs.log. Corrupt or incompatible entries in your "DCS Saved Games" directories. Regards, Ian.

The problem is that the missions have the view configs saved in the mission file itself and will override any of your local system settings. Only way to fix is to remove the CONFIG folder from with in the offending .miz file, these files are actually zip files and can be opened with zip viewers to do the removal. On a quick check of the standalone Mig-29 modules mission sets, only the training missions 8,10,11 have this issue, not sure of the actual mission your referring to, may be a different one, but it will have a CONFIG file in it as discussed above. Regards, Ian.

DXDIAG: - Shows fault with both video card drivers, ATI RX-480 and Intel HD 4600 drivers, Drivers are either generic windows versions or incorrectly installed Manufacturer specific ones and appear to not be initializing correctly, Most likely faulty install of drivers, but could be the hardware. DCS Log: - Shows no pagefile usage, change windows pagefile settings to system managed or 32gb, DCS log should show System RAM: 16229mb, Pagefile: 49152MB. Regards, Ian.

Yes this would be the case, I have been working on those missions in that Campaign, But they are far from complete, its a tremendous amount of work all up. Here is a rough work in progress: Corrected missions files in current state if you want to give them a go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pxv3l8h7rrnd0w4/DCSW%20-%20KA-50%20Campaign%20-%20Georgian%20Oil%20War%20%28Patch%20to%20Game%29%20%28v2.5x%29.zip?dl=0 These missions have been around since blackshark 1.0 so you are correct, they didn't have all the trees around then. Regards, Ian.

Suggestions On Updated User Files Section
MadDog-IC replied to Devrim's topic in Forum and Site Issues
If using Firefox try this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=228060 Regards, Ian. -
I tend to do a minimum of 15-17km from runway landing waypoint, speed=500 kph and altitude=1000m MSL for modern aircraft (They will catch the ILS), change the altitude to 500m for any WWII aircraft as they are eye balling it, also have them into the wind, if you set them too fast or two high they will do overheads and try to slow down and get to the proper approach altitude. Regards, Ian.

Only way to fix it is to edit in mission editor" Change the parking spot for all aircraft on ground (they have lost their order due to map update), by selecting each aircraft and re-selecting their parking bay number shown in the "PRK" slot which will reposition them to the correct locations. Same for their landing waypoints, drag and let go for it to snap to the runway. Will get fixed eventually, but all mission (based on Caucusas map) not already corrected will have this issue, but some may still work ok. Here are the quickly edited fixed versions, you will just need to unzip them into either "Your Missions Folder" or over write the originals. Regards, Ian. F-5E - Training.zip

If you guys are running the standalone F-15c module, that mission hasn't been updated to fix that issue, The Flaming cliffs 3 bundled F-15c did have that remedied. Something ED need to update, but here are the missions. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=213589 Regards, Ian.

The AI has been tweaked along the way I am sure, but each patch brings new challenges as with every aspect of DCS. Regards, Ian.

Once again, this will most likely be due to ever changing weapon effectiveness between patches of the SEAD missile and Anti-Ship missiles, the strength of the ships has often changed also. If too many SEAD missiles miss their targets, then their defensive missiles are far more effective at taking out your battle groups attack. Even with AI testing flight flying the whole mission, there was about a 1 in 3 chance of completing the mission, I can't do any more to improve the mission, I have constantly rewritten the attack commands, and most failures come from missiles not doing enough damage, or completely missing their targets. Its a hard mission and requires some luck to win, only hope is that your attack group flood the enemy with so many missiles at the same time they can't cope, so if your SEAD and BOMBERS get intercepted and delayed in anyway and their firing is delayed to the point of only small individual attacks at a time, it is a certain failure. Speaks good english for a russian, heh ;-) Regards, Ian.

Thanks for keeping the dream alive, I really enjoyed that video and had a few chuckles to myself. Nice music with some light entertainment. Well done. -
DCS World 1.5 some activations not being recognised
MadDog-IC replied to scotth6's topic in Payment and Activation
When you say you have activated all modules in DCS 2.x you probably haven't really, as: DCS 2.x - Most but not all modules no longer require you active them with serial numbers as it is using an updated copy protection system that has the modules bound to your account, that is why you weren't asked for the activation key codes on all of your modules. DCS 1.2x or 1.5x - Will require you activate all the modules as you have always done because they still use the old starforce copy protection system of Key codes (This will be all the modules that DCS 2.x didn't activate because they weren't using the old key code system). Regards, Ian. -
Those F-14s and those special missiles, I remember the missions well, I tried for days to make the russian AI able to survive those darn missiles, but alas you can't make dumb AI fly like real humans that know how to avoid a missile (Notching, etc), so had to settle for a sub par solution. Yes in mission correcting and testing over the different era's of DCS 1.2, 1.5, 2.5 I have seen the AI getting dumber and dumber with each major update, it is heart breaking to see, and a night mare to try and get missions to work realistically. You can literally take a mission that works perfectly well in DCS 1.2 and 1.5 and put it into 2.5 and it doesn't work any more due to the trees and Line of Sight blocks, aircraft crash into the ground during maneuvers and can't fly low between valleys, new lighting system creates issues with missile use, Missile flight parameters change making missiles useless, advanced waypoint commands stop working, the list goes on. Regards, Ian.

Updated campaign that corrects the Batumi start problem, you will have to over write the existing mission sets with this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303252/ I suspect that once you take off from the carrier in fixed missions, some of these issues will resolve, it would help if the AI flight wasn't so useless. To win you need to kill the Anti-ship assault as your first priority as they will RTB quickly once they have let their missiles off at range and the accompanying fighter sweep flights are there to stop you obviously but should be a secondary objective, either way both types of flights have to be killed. Once again, you should fair better when starting from the carrier, timing is everything, but I have no words of wisdom for how to win the mission, try different tactics, missile payload. This issues is probably related to sub par missile performance, I have seen reported in other posts about the russian missiles being a problem. Regards, Ian.

Training mission issue: Kh29t missiles won't lock on
MadDog-IC replied to Osprey39's topic in Bugs and Problems
I would like to say, whilst ED have their own time table as to what gets priority and when things get fixed, I also have my own priorities and preferences, such as the Su-25T, Su-27 + 33, Ka-50, A-10c. I personally take notice of all user reports on faulty ED Modules missions and campaigns:- I can investigate and then log the fault with ED if I can replicate it (Within my understanding and I can define it well) and it requires work done that I can't do. Other wise I will log it for myself and correct the missions at a later date and then submit to ED for inclusion to DCS. Like ED I will not always respond in posts as it destracts from the work to be done. Think of it this way:- If no one ever posts any fault reports, then nothing will ever be fixed. If multiple people complain of the same fault and it is easy to reproduce or good .trk files or video showing the problem are supplied, some one will take notice and in time it will be corrected. Don't expect to be consoled about your issues, just report and move on, you can't control what others do. I agree with your comments, and this blind freddy is doing his bit to help, but rushing things out isn't an option as the work load has increased 5-10 fold on what it was for me alone, doing things officially takes much more time that you can appreciate (Never just a 5 minute fix if your thorough). Myself, I am acutely aware of not only the missions you talk of being faulty, but just about all missions based on the Caucusas map. All being said the current work for me are the Ka-50 campaigns - GOW and Deployment, so any work on the Su-25T training is well down the list in time frame for me. Regards, Ian. -
There were some issues with the Huey and Mi-8 AI choppers picking up troops, and I think also with human controlled Huey and Mi-8 choppers with commanding of loading and unloading of troops. I would retry with the new OB patch that will be out on 16-01-2019 or later. I have attached the missions I made for testing the issue so you can see how they should be setup, watch the AI and then go into editor and change the HUEY and then the MI-8 Helos (Skill = PLAYER) and refly and see if works as advertized with the radio menus. You need embark and disembark advanced waypoint commands for the Infantry units and the helos. Regards, Ian. Test - Mi-8 (Caucasas)_Embarking (Binding to Transport).miz Test - UH-1H (Caucasas)_Embarking (Setup correctly).miz

No real thoughts on the black screen issue, only generic answers: Set Windows -> Power Management Mode = "High Performance". Set Nvidia Config -> Power Usage Mode = "Prefer Max Performance". Monitor Graphics card with GPU-Z utility and monitor for any strange things such as overheating, throttling back speeds of memory and or GPU and reason for that if it is exists whilst playing in game and creating the issue. Try different versions of Nvidia drivers, some have been real dogs, older or newer, mileage varies for different users. With this error in your dcs.log. Re this advice: http://forums.eagle.ru:8080/showthread.php?t=201862 Double check - Absolutely no "3rd party MODS" loaded, including skins, planes, keyboard and joystick button modifications, you know the drill:- Run the command line "DCS_Updater Cleanup" command or get the Skatezilla DCS tool to do it. Backup and Rename your "C:\Users\rezia\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta" folder some where else and let DCS recreate a new fresh one so that you can be assured that there are no modifications in there, (Set up basic controls for you aircraft so you can fly). Try out in DCS on the MP servers you have issues with and see if any thing has changed. Based on results, if fixed, you will need to reconfigure or restore parts at a time from your backup, if not fixed, just restore your full backup. Regards, Ian.

Whilst the current DCS seems very bug ridden, with enormous amount of errors in the logs relating to module "No property record for segment", I am not sure what effect that has on the game play, but there are also a few .lua script and DirectX errors which are more fatal. Ok dcs_old.log crash report log shows directx out of memory issues, and you seem to have a low amount of system ram and a small pagefile. Whilst this discussion page is not for DCS, the error is the same, and this may help you, it is to do with setting the Windows pagefile to system managed, give it a look at and try. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/DirectX-Error-E-OUTOFMEMORY/td-p/5986083/page/3 Regards, Ian.

Save liveries under your: \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet\, you will have to make the FA-18C_hornet directory and spell as seen here. Copy individual downloaded FA-18c livery folders into the above directory. Note inside each Livery folder there must be a description.lua file, some older skins may not have this and will not work unless you make one yourself. Load DCS and pick the new livery for your FA-18c and enjoy, Liveries may only be available for countries that use the FA-18c. ie: Skin Name:= RAAF 2OCU 75 Years (A21-16) Install Directory: \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet\RAAF 2OCU 75 Years (A21-16)\ Files in Directory: Description.lua F18C_1_DIFF_2OCU_A121-16.dds F18C_2_DIFF_2OCU_A121-16.dds FPU_8A_2OCU_A121-16.dds pilot_F18_patch_2OCU_A21-16.dds Regards, Ian.

[A-4E Community Mod] Royal Australian Navy Skyhawk
MadDog-IC replied to Strut's topic in Liveries/Skinning
As always, with your work, this has got to go onto my must have mods. Thanks for all your fine work, nice to see Australian stuff. Regards, Ian. -
I can't guarantee that I will be able to sort it, but no one will work it out unless, they have had the issue themselves, are clarevoyent or just may be if you posted some logs to show what is happening with DCS itself. ie: Dcs.log in (\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\) folder. DXdiag report in the (run dxdiag.exe to create). Autoupdate_log.txt in the (\DCS World 2 OpenBeta\) folder. Autoupdate.cfg. in the (DCS World 2 OpenBeta\) folder. Regards, Ian.

Bug in a mission from campaign G.O.W.
MadDog-IC replied to toutenglisse's topic in Bugs and Problems
Eventually, but no time frame estimated (Passed corrections require at least a month of solid 8 hour days to correct and test), as I know they require extensive corrections, only good news is I have already fixed them once for v1.2 and V1.5, so most work would be just getting units out of trees and adding ED language translations. Regards, Ian. -
[REPORTED] training missions in English?
MadDog-IC replied to Lalbatros's topic in Bugs and Problems
Checked this out, seems that the German Dictionary got copied to the English Dictionary accidently, so it is a bug. It isn't happening in the internal copy of DCS so I would expect it to be fixed when next patch comes out, in the mean time I have attached the correct mission file, Note there aren't any english voice overs at all (never has been), just a beep at each message, only the RU version has full Voice overs in the native russian language. Copy file from archive into your DCS install folder, ie: d:\Games\DCS World 2 OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Missions\Training\ https://www.dropbox.com/s/mveoxl0cr2um593/Mi-8%20Training%20-%20Cold%20Start.zip?dl=0 Regards, Ian.
