  1. Always good to get feedback from someone playing through the actual campaign, I am sure it was never an easy task to win any of them, given wind and environment settings. I will take note of the these recommendations and may implement them some time in the future. The other campaign Medvedev has high winds that would blow the vhikr missiles off the laser guidance systems cone of effect, not even the AI could shoot a tank with them. Regards, Ian.
  2. All ways do set any Friendly wingman to Excellent, only enemy might be left at random. Atmosphere is definetly an issue with newer lighting systems, this is a real problem with AI aircraft detecting enemy and also missile lock and launch ranges. Yeh probably the only way to get it done, hate having to micro manage wingmen, you can send them to attack points made on the ABRIS and Datalinked to the wingmen if I remember correctly, but you will not know for sure if they have LOS from their either. Regards, Ian.
  3. CAS command is standard command to search for any enemy on the whole map and engage the closest priority target which might be 250km away, it will do this without regard to flying any set waypoints, once the enemy targets are destroyed it will return to the waypoint that had the CAS command and then fly the waypoints. This behaviour is no good for scripted missions where you want the AI to fly the waypoints and only engage enemies in a set zone or within an offset of several km from your flight plan, hence the "Search in Zone" and other advanced command, this way the AI will execute the "Search" when it hits the waypoint, kill the enemy and return to the flight plans next waypoint and so on. Your already have figured out why it didn't work, nothing to do with the advanced waypoints commads, if you deleted the CAS statement and any "Search and Engage in zone" or those type of command then yes the AI may never engage any enemy and will just fly the waypoints to landing, but obviously when you physically command him with DATALINK commands, that is a priority command to be done instantly, regardless of any AI programming in the ME. Nearly all of the missions I have every edited have the "Players" flight programmed to complete the whole mission correctly as a human would when I change the "Players" flight to AI, (Turn on Immortal) and then use Combined Arms module (Battle Commander) to do radio trigger work in missions, this means I don't have to fly the thing over and over to test it, I just let the AI do it and I can monitor all the facits are working as expected, with the exception of in cockpit testing of "DATELINKING",Etc. Having said that, this self test system hasn't been applied to this "Ka-50 GOW" Campaign as of yet, it is a big task to take on editing approx 90-100 or so missions and putting in that AI commands for "Player" flight and then testing that the mission works on a whole, with correct scoring, campaign progression, broken triggers, incorrect briefings, corrupt or missing briefing pictures, corrupted waypoint commands, incorrect aircraft skins and a multitude of other parameters. Work would be 20-30 days at 8 hours a day. Regards, Ian.
  4. Good to know, I have had that type of issue before, with the FOG marked off it was still affecting AI behaviour as if FOG was on, toggled the command off and on a couple of times and it came right with both FOG on or off. AI is also very retarded when faced with AAA guns in hilly terain, it spends all its time porpoising around and never shooting at anything . I am most likely going to be doing some extra work on the KA-50 GOW campaign in the near future, so will be looking more in depth at issues and reporting such issues to ED when able to. Ps. Having lua editing skills is a must. :megalol: Regards, Ian.
  5. You are correct, this campaign was patched and supplied to ED at end of 2019, they haven't implemented them. Corrected missions for campaign. https://www.dropbox.com/s/untnmu7gxwrv08r/DCSW%20-%20P-51d%20Campaign%20-%20Challenge%20%28Patch%20To%20Game%29%20%28v2.5x%29.zip?dl=0 Corrected single missions in case they aren't patched as well. https://www.dropbox.com/s/u25gwtrgpt010hb/DCSW%20-%20P-51d%20Single%20Missions%20%28Patch%20To%20Game%29%20%28v2.5x%29.zip?dl=0 Regards, Ian.
  6. Corrected Su-33 Sea Dragon Campaign here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=518&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=Maddog-IC&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter Regards, Ian.
  7. 1) Most likely. 2) When I referred to new DCS it meant v2.0 or greater, DCS v1.2x and v1.5x had the limitation of all campaign files needing to be in the one directory.
  8. Yes, manually take all of the Deployment??.miz and Deployment??.cmp and Deployment??.png files from the downloaded ZIP file and place them in the "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\DCS World\Missions\Campaigns\En" directory or With the newer DCS World you can even now make a subdirectory to put each Campaign in: "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\DCS World\Missions\Campaigns\En\Ka-50 Deployment" Old example of how to do it: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=142444 Not sure what your doing wrong, but don't copy the directory structure from the download ZIP file: "\Mods\Aircraft\Ka-50\Missions\Campaigns", you must take all of the files from the "campaigns" folder and place in either of the above examples of a "Saved games" directory location as show above. Regards, Ian.
  9. The same "AI parking bug" that was in the original DCS Games version of "Ka-50 Deployment campaign" was fixed by ED, but unfortunately the same bug creeped into my updates when done with DCS 2.5.6 of the same "Ka-50 Deployment campaign" on the USER file site (Which is quite different from that in DCS at the moment) I have since corrected the parking bug on all of those missions and re-uploaded to the USER site, so just re-download and install MOD again. FYI, with every DCS update, it will overwrite these types of MODS and you will be required to reload the MODS again. I will submit my changes to ED, but can't promise they will implement them into game. Regards, Ian.
  10. If you run into a problem with the campaign file or Mission 11 reporting that it is "File is Newer than editor and to load it at my own risk" and gives you the option to continue but locks up at the loading screen at 97% then please download the updated version uploaded today 22-07-2020 on the User files site. Regards, Ian.
  11. Change your windows swap/pagefile from 4gb to 16gb or 32gb might help a bit, other than that, looks like video driver problem to me. Regards, Ian.
  12. Thanks for the report, fixed mission 11 spawn problem and reuploaded whole Campaign. Regards, Ian.
  13. Here is a further fixed up version where I have changed Mission 9 and 10 only, mission 10 should be more doable now, let me know how it plays for you. Changelog v1.4 for DCS v2.56 (14-07-2020) ============== ------------------------ Campaign - SU-33-Sea Dragon.cmp ------------------------ - Mission 9 - Fixed - RU Su-33 (Player) flight incorrectly starting at Batumi instead of the RU Carrier. - Fixed - CN translations in Mission 9. - Mission 10 - Fixed - RU Su-33 (Player) Flight incorrectly starting at Batumi instead of the RU Carrier. - Changed - RU-SEAD1 and RU-SEAD2 Flight to 4 ship from 2 ship for extra fire power. - Added - Onboard explosions to US-CVBG ships when hit by SEAD or Anti-Ship missiles. - Changed - US-CAP3 Flight takeoff to be delayed slightly. - Changed - RU-Tanker flight plan to get on station quicker. Download Here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303252/ Regards, Ian.
  14. Here is a further fixed up version where I have changed Mission 9 and 10 only, mission 10 should be more doable now, let me know how it plays for you, goto link below and to the bottom of that forum. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4420272#post4420272 Regards, Ian.
  15. I know I will probably get my head ripped off for even suggesting this, but try enabling the WINDOWS PAGEFILE, I know you have a lot of ram, but depending on what expert you care to take advice from, running with no PAGEFILE is not considered good practice by some, just increase it and see if it makes any difference to the DCS startup. Cheers, Ian.
  16. You need to delete the default SEAD command that the ME places at Waypoint 0 - this means detect any SAMS anywhere and go for them ignoring all your waypoint and specific advanced waypoint commands. Once that initial SEAD command is removed, flight will follow you waypoints and only do the required advanced commands such as "Engage in Zone", etc when it hits that Waypoint with explicit command. Regards, Ian.
  17. Has been talked about before with the campaign in game, I have a more corrected version of the campaign on the ED download site if you wish to give that a try, will work better, but may have new issues from other DCS patches, I know mission 1 and 2 work ok, I only re-tested them days ago, and fixed a couple of issues. DCS doesn't usually lose your progress between patches, unless they relocate the campaigns mission files into a different directory structure, the directory location is stored in the logbook.lua file and points to the last completed mission, so that would also have to be changed manually to match the new directory structure for it to continue where you left off. Regards, Ian.
  18. After some Testing with Ka-50 Deployment mission 2 that has gound units not moving issues similiar to other reported missions: The convoy issue still exists in OB 2.5.6x, but it all works OK in the internal DCS testing version, in Mission 2 and most convoys that have all their waypoint set to "On road" will drive the routes, but if they have some "Off road" waypoints at the end of the routes then when the mission is run, the convoy has no routes at all to follow and stays stuck at the start or wanders off in circles or the like. Regards, Ian.
  19. Yeh I suspected the ABRIS waypoints, I think the shark can only have 5 waypoints, being 0-4, I never really double checked what you described as I put the users flight into an AI and have it do the mission for me so I can check it with out me manually doing it. Although there has never been any ABRIS data stored in that particular mission, and shouldn't have any waypoints points anyway, as you are meant to follow the other flight leader. Noticed that, was good to see some of my efforts mentioned for the first time ever in a ED changelog. Deployment campaign is definitely not included in the DCS updates. Would say that DCS v2.5.6x strikes again, yes mission 2 has the convoy you are to escort not following the waypoints and parking on the side of the road, therefore no mission go status. Known issue with vehicles not following road / waypoints, thought it might have been fixed by now. After some Testing: The convoy issue still exists in OB, but it all works OK in the internal DCS testing version, in Mission 2 and most convoys that have all their waypoint set to "On road" will drive the routes, but if they have some "Off road" waypoints at the end of the routes then when the mission is run, the convoy has no routes at all to follow and stays stuck at the start. Regards, Ian.
  20. Interested to know why you say (Waypoints are not correctly set) what is wrong with them ??? (Missions worked fine pre DCS 2.5.6.) I may give it a quick retest with DCS 2.5.6, I expect it to be broken as 2.5.6 is a no go for me, has way to many issues with ME and DCS engine in general affecting a lot of missons. Regards, Ian.
  21. Nearly all of the corrected FC3 missions done by me were in DCS at some point due to me being commissioned to do so, but they have been largely replaced by other versions now, some done by another chap (F-15 Bear Trap and others I may not know about) and others most likely are the original broken ones that have had Multiple languages added (I can only assume that, but I have seen it in the past). It is quite hard to compare the mission files, even for me as just re-saving a mission under a new DCS version will change its filesize and of course the date of creation. Another thing that will increase the filesize is the addition of additional multiple languages which have been added since the corrections (Something only ED can do, not me). I have some trace signatures in the missions that I have corrected so I can tell if it is based on my work: Looking into the "xxxxxxx.miz" files of each mission with the ME and checking for markers, dead give away is that all triggers will be in order that they happen in the mission. Nearly all sound files will be in .ogg format and not .Wav files. Sound files will be highly compressed and very small with names that show their order in mission and give a hint to what they may say. They will also be robotic voice overs, unless originally recorded by ED. Answer to your questions in general is that the FC3 campaign missions in DCS as they stand now are generally not any of my work at all. Personally I can't comment on the ED versions as to their working states. I do stand by my corrected missions as they were checked at the time to func tion in every way with mission logic, scoring, campaign progression, etc (Barring any new introduced problems with subsequent DCS patches). Regards, Ian.
  22. Your most welcome, yes that mission was indeed done differently, the briefing texts have been directly injected into the mission file inside the .miz archive and not linked via a dictionary key to the dictionary file where the actual text should be (Doesn't conform to the New mission format since DCS v1.5 onwards), this has caused the issue with MizEdit not loading the mission in and also means you can't change any of that briefing text in the ME of DCS 2.5.x and have the resaves save it. UBOAT has updated MizEdit to 1.15 so that it reports it as an "Older mission and for you to resave with DCS ME" instead of erroring, however resaving this mission will not fix the issue with all the briefing texts. Only way to fix this mission it to manual change the mission file sections and removed the texts and put the links to point to the dictionary and updated the dictionary file with the text from the mission file sections, if you try to change any of the briefing text in the mission at ME it will not save those changes until the dictionary link is corrected as I did. Rudel_Chw system of doing this is much more professional and neat setup. Regards, Ian.
  23. I have dropped Uboats a note about this issue with MizEdit so he can look into the errors generated. Other wise to get mission info: Load mission into ME Go down the icons on the LEFT hand side to just under "MIS" text and left click on the small looking "piece of paper" icon. The SORTIE, SITUATIONS, RED and BLUE Tasks boxes should now appear on the RIGHT hand side. Left click on the box of text you wish to copy, then "Cntrl-A" to mark all text followed by "Cntrl-C" to copy it to the clipboard. "ALT-TAB" out of DCS to windows desktop and create and open a new text file to put the text into, Left click in the open text file and then hold "Cntrl-V" to paste the text from the clipboard. Add a couple of new lines with the "Enter" key. ALT-TAB back to DCS ME and rinse a repeat for the other boxes of text you require. Once finished copying text don't forget to save the text file. Done. Regards, Ian.
  24. Tried the same with that mission, something wierd with it, most likely that the info in the mission briefings exceeds some sort of limit, there is quite a lot. MizEdit v1.14.3 will not load the original at all, and if I resave it on my system using DCS v2.5.5 or v2.6.0 then MizEdit complains that it "Might be an old mission file" and to please resave with the DCS Mission Editor. Not sure if campaign is a bought commerical one and may be copy protected, I would say it is as when missions is resaved as copy and I look at the mission text, it isn't all there, larger size but not headed with the correct stuff. Exported Text of mission briefing using copy and paste in ME. Regards, Ian.
