Some more info, today, noticed that the routing has changed quite a lot to what it was the other day (This may indicate they are working on the problem), but still doesn't work, this is showing 100% packet loss in some spots between server /routers and the routers themselves (Highlighted in BOLD). I also sent this log to Internode ISP for more proof, but not getting anymore feed back from them at the moment (Last couple of days). Regards, Ian.

Looking up whirlpool forums found others with similar issues and did some more investigations myself. Would seem that the Internode IP addresses supplied to their users may be blacklisted by the OVH group of servers in the EU / France. Might be worth a call to the support at (https://www.ovh.com.au/) Other similar complaints here. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3r75v0k9 https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3r75mxx9 A few sites that aren't working and are going through similar xxxx.fr.eu servers: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com www.icy-veins.com www.freepik.com I also found my current IP address on a blacklist somewhere in brasil, not sure if it is bogus or not. Also trying to get the fellow that looks after the DCS website server involved, he has removed the second IP address of the server so it only has the one address now to stop any confusion. This change has caused my DCS_Updater to now report "Time out was reached" error instead of a "Server not found" error, but no improvement overall, same goes for web access to the DCS site and DCS game logons, still times out. He continues to investigate at his end. Regards, Ian.

Gone through the same processes with Internode ISP that use the IInet network, they determined it isn't their network and most likely blocked by remote servers and left it at that (Unresolved). Internode themselves can access the DCS website, they also claim that 4G mobile users can also access it no problems, but I am suspecting that all internode users on NBN with an FTTP land connections to premises can not, I say this as myself and a friend that have different computer setups, but similar NBN with FTTP connections with Internode ISP are unable to access the DCS website. There are reports from AUST states: WA, ACT, TAS (me) with this issue, the trace routes from here are very slow with long timeouts shown, it does get to the website address eventually, but takes way to long to get any sort of response to sync up. Good luck with that, I have been threw it with internode support, after providing examples of pings and trace routes to "www.digitalcombatsimulator.com", they have declared it a problem else where and washed their hands of it. @Gonk, your spot on mate with your analysis I would say. Internode statement: Don't know where to place the blame with, but its shutdown all things to do with DCS for me. more info https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=243599&highlight=iinet Regards, Ian.

This is no solution for me, thanks anyway. Can't get to their website to even try a login, same with their DCS program updates, I do this daily with tester versions, haven't been able to get anything for days. I have put a tech support query into internode as my brother had a similar issue with Dodo internet a few months ago, that locked him out of his fav online car auctions that he uses on a daily basis, it mysteriously got fixed a few days after Dodo had run him through all sorts of useless tests on his end. Will see if I get any sense from Internode, wondering if I disable their internal firewall if it may allow it to work, not that I recommend that. Regards, Ian.

Yep, I am with internode NBN and for the last 2 or 3 days I can no longer get DCS updates due to a "Couldn't connect to SERVER" error. My DCS offline time has passed and am not able to play the game at all or even edit missions due to all modules being disabled. Regards, Ian.

Bug: Training Mission for External Gun Pods
MadDog-IC replied to DataX's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
Looked at your mission in question, there was an incorrect index to the briefing picture that didn't actually exist in the mission file itself (This is only in the DE or german translation and non of the others, this is a common reason for missions quitting out straight after being run. I have corrected the error, by creating a new picture (using the EN version as I can't find the original picture from older sources, so it will only show English) and renamed it as the original wouldn't import into the Mission editor, filename probably to long. Here is the corrected mission for you to try, let me know if it works for you, and will try to get it corrected in game properly at a later stage with a correct german tranlation on the text. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7hfaqoygg0hpbhk/10-%20Su-25T%20Gun%20Pods.miz?dl=0 Regards, Ian. -
My most expensive module by far... feeling bad..
MadDog-IC replied to Koriel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Whilst not promising too much and I don't know ED's plan in this regard, but I have been working on addressing the Ka-50 mission sets for such issues: BS2 Georgian Oil War campaign - WIP, a lot of work to do, but would expect most critical crashing issues fixed - 50% complete. BS2 Medvedev campaigns - WIP, 0% complete BS2 Deployment campaign - WIP, 50% complete BS2 Single missions (All) - 75% complete I am thinking of posting up the WIP missions to the ED website "user files section" for people to test as I fix them, starting with the GOW campaign and all of the single missions. Regards, Ian. -
It became apparent here that change is on the horizon, but there is much more to it, which I am not going into, it is more of a disappointment that some of the missions I did weren't expanded on. "Sorry about the link - can't show you that one, I thought it was an announcement thread, but it wasn't" Other author has said he will be trying to implement some of my work if he can in the future, I am sure his missions and alterations will be much better in general. I wish ED and all the team all the best as always. Regards, Ian.

I feel I need to comment, but will try to keep it brief, but I vary rarely do. When I corrected this campaign along with some others, they had no voice overs what so ever. I have a crap voice and choose to do them with computer voice overs (I dislike them as much as anyone and would like them re-done) but I would rather have them than nothing at all. They were more of a placeholder than anything and I hoped that ED might re-do the voice overs with voice actors at a later stage, after all it is very easy to implement new sounds with the infrastructure all ready there in the mission editor to play the sounds. As for downing the USA carrier, it use to all work perfectly in DCS 1.2, 1.5 and then with 2.5 a few things changed: The ships seemed a whole lot stronger and impervious to missile damage. The ships Anti-Aircraft and missile defenses become much more efficient at taking out incoming SEAD and Anti-Ship missiles. SEAD and Anti-Ship missiles themselves inflicted less damage and would track off target and miss the boats altogether for no perceivable reason. There is always a element of luck when doing most missions, it doesn't always go to plan, timing and having all SEAD and Anti-Ship aircraft attack at same time to over whelm the enemy ship, if one aircraft is lost you can't win (Not saying you don't have some valid points), it is always difficult to gauge the hardness of a mission, quite often some flyers will say it is impossible, others will say they found it to easy. Considering the amount of time I had already spend fixing the whole campaign once in DCS 1.2, 1.5 and now in DCS 2.5, with the last two missions particulary and then constantly doing work arounds to contend with all the issues that keep creeping into the missions, I got to the point of it working fairly consistently, but the SEAD and Anti-Ship were so in accurate, the even if they did make it through the ships defenses, they veered off the target a few meters from impact. I left it at that state under the assumption that ED would fix the SEAD and Anti-ship missiles eventually and the missions would work even more reliably, I haven't re-tested wether they have or not. Re: My versions on USER Files and ED DCS released versions of missions Whilst ED have used quite a lot of my revisions of campaigns and missions, it has never been a sure thing they will. Also due to recent events, they may be using them less in DCS and even removing some of my versions currently in DCS altogether and replacing with updates from else where. Regards, Ian.

Can only report the problem, I can't tazzer them into action. I did have a quick go at modifying the required Lua and mission files for how it detects the switch position, but I got a little confused and gave up, it is more or less back to front in the new file compared to the older huey module in say DCS 1.216 or 1.5. Regards, Ian.

Seasons are now changed with the date of the mission: Spring = Mid March -> Mid June Autumn = Mid Sept -> Mid Oct Summer = June -> August Winter = Dec -> Feb Not commenting on presets and the other issues, they usually work as advertised, but am not going to retest them, they are used for defining the weather patterns but not the seasons themselves. Regards, Ian.

Whilst I haven't made any of my own missions, I have fixed a hell of a lot of others single player missions, as a part of the process my best practice for testing is: Enable Battle Commander mode (Must have Combined Arms for this). Program aircraft (Players) with AI commands that will mimic the actions of a human to win the missions. Test by putting "Player aircraft" from skill:player to excellent, make immortal=on, Battle commander enabled so I can send, see and respond to radio commands with the F-keys, run mission and see how it plays out by watching all aspects of mission, scoring, radio and voice overs, AI flights. This approach allows me to test missions quickly, with out me having to fly any of them, the only caveat is that it will not work with complex missions, ie, radio to groups, etc. Always make multiple backups of mission as you go, when doing major changes particularly, then backup as major milestones to off site such as dropbox. Regards, Ian.

Its called ie "Distribution = Pilot #001" to allocate Pilot of heli that will carry what ever troops you pick from the next line down, that allocates the troops he is picking up and allocating weight of them to the chopper. Attached some shots of my working test mission, well was last time I checked a while back ;0) Regards, Ian.

Just as a side note to my corrected versions, there is quite an extensive changelog supplied with each campaign zip file highlighting all of the corrections done to each mission, bearing in mind I have been patching the missions since DCS 1.2, then 1.5 and then DCS 2.5, so they have been very thoroughly checked by me alone, and by a few generous user that have spend their time flying them and letting me know about how their experience was. I also read the forums everyday and take note of users fault reports regarding all sort of modules that I have been involved in correcting and re-test those faulty missions with my self test mode to verify their claims, some times it is just the users inexperience at fighting that they can't complete the missions, other times it is definitely an issue that a new bug has been introduced, the ratio would be around 50/50. User response is critical, if you just get on forum and just complain and give no detailed fault description, How to reproduce, screenshot, track file or video of issue, nothing will happen I certainly will not respond and nothing will get repaired. As for the AI having issues every now and then between patches I can't stop that happening, but each and almost every mission I ever editd has a built in test mode, the human aircraft is programmed to fly the mission as a human would. I use Combined arms to monitor all aspects of the mission for testing: I put the "Players" flight into AI mode=Excellent. Set "Immortal=on" (To simulate a good human player, AI just isn't good enough to survive most senarios). Enable "Battle commander mode" so I can send radio commands to send in other flights and let the whole mission play with all AI aircraft only. So at the time of my corrections I know that all the logic and voice overs work correctly, all the aircraft all do their jobs correctly (If they don't I try to do a work around or log a fault report to get it repaired), this is why I can be confident that the mission works as it should, when a human flies it, there may be slight differences that may cause issues (Humans will take longer to kill enemy usually), that is why I now post missions on the USER Files section of ED website as feedback from users are invaluable to fine tune any slight problems that might arise, if the reports are mostly favorable, then ED is more likely to install my work into the release patches of the DCS game itself. P.S. Don't feel bad about just saying campaigns and missions suck and nothing works, most of us have thought like that at some time or another, even me, that is why I started to repair the missions so I could actually play them myself, then it made sense to share with others to cut down on their frustrations. P.S. Regards the in game version of BEAR TRAP, has been updated recently, but has the older broken mission sets from ED as their base and none of my fixed versions in them at all. Regards, Ian.

After some forensic analysis I can tell you that my modified version of both the below campaigns have been modified by some one else and they have used the original versions of missions from the DCS 1.2 / 1.5 era with all of their original intrinsic issues when ported over to the DCS 2.5, including the few issues you mention, there is heaps more. These campaigns in particular I fixed over a year ago and supplied to ED, they used the Fortress Mozdok campaign, but never used the Bear Trap campaign and now have someone else doing those missions for them, however if you want my original work it is available on the DCS User file section for use if you want better working copies of those campaigns. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=518&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=MadDog-IC&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter Su-27 Fortress Mozdok-M4: your wingman spawns on top of you. M5: F-15E flight members 3 and 4 spawn on top of each other. F-15C Bear Trap-M2 and M7 impossible because of SA-19s. As for the other campaigns, I have no involvement with those are up to their individual authors. Regards, Ian.

My error, the command is "Dcs_updater.exe cleanup" from a command line box with admin priv.

Strange one indeed, I would try deleting the whole F-14 module install and re-installing it then. Also backup and remove or rename your "Saved Games folder and run a fresh "Saved Games" Folder for testing if you have not already done so. Post copies of: A DXdiag report DCS install folder, ie "E:\DCS World OpenBeta\autoupdate_log.txt" and "E:\DCS World OpenBeta\autoupdate_log_old.txt". Regards, Ian.
-
This would be due to the "quick fix" released to fix a few issues shortly after release of the F-14, so I am guessing they haven't recompiled the F-14 code for the newer version of DCS, don't know what effect that might have, most likely it will work ok as is. Your DCS.log shows: 019-03-18 17:51:45.470 ERROR VISUALIZER: unable to init OpenVR runtime: Hmd Not Found (108) This is the only thing I can see wrong with your log, so if your trying to run with a VR headset it can't find it, so this might be the issue, it doesn't have a device to output to, you might have to update any VR control software to new versions or fix USB or HDMI connections, I don't have VR so I can't tell you anything to do in regard to that. Regards, Ian.

Agreed, nothing to do with window 10. I have issues with the reflections of sun off glass with win8.1 under nvidia drivers 388.71 and now on the updated 419.17 still. Using the same mission for all testing, External view happens with the Yak-52 glass cockpit reflections, but none of the cockpit glass of other aircraft that have rounder glass canopies. Regards, Ian.

Try renaming / backing up your SAVED GAMES Folder temparily and have DCS create a new default one and see if that helps with you issues, if it does, then rebuild the directory with you old configs, logbook, etc. Also run CMD line: "dcs_updater.exe cleanup" to check for 3d party mod files that might be installed or left ov Post a "Dcs.log" so we can see if there is any clues to issue. Regards, Ian.
-
Need to post with a file attach of DCS.log, you may have to zip it up or rename to dcs.txt for it to accept the upload. Log is kept in c:\Users\Yourname\Documents\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dcs.log. This log is made every time you run DCS.

Constant crashing after several minutes (Open Beta)
MadDog-IC replied to Koekemoeroetoe's topic in Game Crash
There appears to be a problem with you DirectX and Video Driver interfaces, dxdiag is having trouble diagnosing. Suggestion to fix (This is how I finally got my install to work with the latest drivers, I have been unable to get any drivers working well for over a year (re: was 388.71, now 419.17). Download and have handy your nvidia 419.17 or 419.35 drivers for re-installation, don't use Geforce Experience. Un-install the Nvidia drivers, You may want to use the DDU utility to remove thoroughly. Disable your internet connection and reboot. If running Multi-monitor setup, especially if from the Nvidia 2800ti and the MB Intel 4600 ports, disable the onboard Intel 4600 via bios if possible. Re-Boot up system. Disable any antivirus, Windows Defender, or other Utils (until you reboot) that may interfere with the install of video drivers. Right click on the Nvidia driver package and (RUN as ADMINISTRATOR) and choose your preferred options. Reboot computer after drivers installed and when you get back to your desktop, re-connect your internet connection. Reboot once again and go into BIOS and enable the Onboard Intel 4600 GPU if disabled before and save and reboot. Once back at the windows desktop, setup up multi-monitor the way you had it before. Re-run DXDiag and see if the stats look better with very little unknown states or other errors with the video cards section. Try DCS again to see if has helped with your problem. Your Dxdiag with highlighted errors states: Kind Regards, Ian. -
For any one to remotely help, they will need a dcs.log as a minimum to see if any Lua faults show in the log when saving the mission. Make sure you make backup copies of missions as you will most likely end up with corrupt mission files. Regards, Ian.
