  1. I think yes. My PC fell asleep while downloading and resumed when I woke it.
  2. Yes, it would be dangerous but I don't strangle the aircraft at the edge of stalling (for 15-20 sec.) during the approach. I like steeper approach so I can see the runway, and high AoA is just for reducing vertical speed second or two before touch down. I don't have much time for flying lately, but few night's ago I took MiG for a spin just to experiment with the different approaches and higher speeds. This video is the result. It's the same flight with four landings, cut in pieces so you don't have to watch panoramic parts of the flight. Sorry for such bad edit of the movie, really didn't have time for better. For Grunf; in the third attempt, I was too low so I end up touching the runway too far from the threshold, and even had a little bit rough touch down, but AoA was almost 15 degrees so I managed to keep nose-wheel in the air. I have looked at the manual to see what Dolphin has to say about landing, and my slow speed theory wasn't advisable. Despite the fact that touching the ground at around 260 km/h causes less stress on the wheels than higher speeds, at high AoA and slow speed above the runway, it's very likely to stall the plane and hit the runway too hard - so this could end your pilot career and made you an office hack - as he said.
  3. I would say that the most important thing is vertical speed, but weight is certainly important factor also.
  4. Yeah, I know what you are saying. I agree that at 250 km/h you will not see the runway in front of you, but that is the moment of touch down and it doesn't last long. That high AoA is used to bleed off my vertical speed . I don't approach with AoA at 15 degrees , I like fairly steep approach with ver. speed 10 m/s so I do see the runway very well. I usually land with 10 degrees, but if I want that my nosewheel stays lifted after touch down, I do as I explained before. I know that people use higher speeds for landings, even around 400 km/h, but it seems very unrealistic to me. And as far as obstructions on the runway are concerned, it's quite difficult to avoid any of them when you are in the middle of landing a rocket like MiG-21! :joystick:
  5. Make contact with the runway at around 250-260 km/h, with vertical speed as low as possible, and AoA higher than 10 degrees (between 10 and 15). And of course, full tank of gas won't help! ;)
  6. Look at this landing! The runway (LDVA Varazdin - Croatia) does not meet the conditions for landing such fast aircraft - neither by lenght, neither by approach and, at the time, was used for sport aircraft. But that is pilot's hometown and he wanted to land in front of his citizens gathered at air show. I was there also (13 years old) and I was very excited! ;)
  7. I was watching this documentary few days ago so. It's about development of the first jet engine and impressions that Me-262 left on the allied pilots.

    AWACS Channel

Have you changed AWACS frequency? When I create mission, I adjust AWACS frequency from 251 to 124 MHz and it works fine. Radio Channel selector is on 0. For details, see the manual, pages 61 and 62!
  9. I think you broke the record for the longest TM Warthog extension (2 meters)! ;) It looks professional!
  10. I really hope that Wags or somebody else will record today's stream so we can watch the whole thing on you tube later. I'm on vacation and only have my tablet with me, and for some reason, I can't watch anything on twitch. I think that a lot of other guys would also benefit from you tube recording. Thanks!
  11. I bought the Sabre few months ago, and I haven't activated yet (I don't think it isn't good, I just love other modules). But I barely waited to get my hands on Mig-15 and I am astonished how good it is. Excellent flight model, really good performance and I love the sound of engine starting. I'm obviously biased towards Russian aircraft, but you really won't make mistake buying the MiG-15!
  12. Congratulations! The Gazelle looks like it's in the advanced stage of development so I wish you good luck in releasing your first module soon. Always good to hear that new team has received license to become 3rd party developer. Thumb up!
  13. I haven't noticed that. I'll pay attention to that detail on the runways that you mentioned. Thanks!
  14. I don't know if anyone has metioned this before, but I would really like that the runways in the future DCS Worlds wouldn't be so even on the ground but that they follow terrain countour (like in real life and the X Plane). In my opinion, it would boost immersion level even more. What do you think?
  15. I had this stick some time ago and I have never experienced wrong calibration or that shaking which you talk about. Had quite some fun with it in MS FS especially with the force feedback function. The only thing I hated about it was that it isn't precise near the center. Try what Yours Truly suggests, or even try reseting to default and than try to calibrate.
  16. That would be great, thanks!
  17. Yep, it looks really great! I'm glad that we can see frequent previews of DCS World 2 lately. I guess it means that it's in final stage of development. :)
  18. Thanks dok_rp, I have seen this modification before and I know how to solder ;) But if I go for more than some 16cm in length, I think that my chair will get in the way. Now I have to do this when I return home from vacation.
