What mod did you install last? Thats probablly the one thats is the issue. If you installed them all at once, then thats your issue. Try to install each individually starting with the ones most important to you and how you play. Test the game after each install and presto Process of Elimination.

DCS World Spotlight Source Mod 2
DDSSTT replied to DiCE81's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I just installed this mod and my loading time has increased. Has anyone else have this issue? -
Ok, I understand the Damage Model is still a work in progress, and I too have been having issues with 1.2.0 with the engine damage where it does not stay running after my planes any non-fatal damage. Here are 3 tracks where I do not take any damage to the front area of my plane and I still lose my engine each time. In each of these test flights I tried to stay at a 90 degree angle to the incoming AAA to avoid over 'penetration' through length of my plane. Track 1 "How Did the SPCGR Fail" - at 1:15 I am hit with 3x 23mm rounds, one AP round strikes my right elevator and two HE hit just behind the canopy. Those 2 rounds land well above the radiator and should have damaged my radio and aft fuel tank but I received "Supercharger solenoid fault" and then my engine soon dies but I failed to capture the failure on this track. Track 2 "How Did Wing Damage Kill Engine" - at 00:29 I get hit twice in my right wing and once (questionable hit) between the front armor plate and my front dash, and once more in the rudder at 00:38, which seems to cause the MP regulator to fail and I over heat the engine and it dies. Track 3 "Why Did My Engine Die" - at 00:38 I get hit twice, once again behind the canopy and once in the tail. However the damage is modeled as if it hit the right side of the cockpit and again I start to lose my engine and make a hard landing on the road and go for a "fun ride". :pilotfly: I am not a programmer by any means nor do I assume to know how it is done in this sim, but it just seems to me that the hit boxes do not register in the correct placements. If I am off the mark and someone can explain why my engine failed please tell me. Other than this "ED Team" please keep up the good work! "Dont FORGET TO set"... my bad...
-
You are right, elevator trim for the nose up/down, aileron for the roll left or right... dont for set Rudder Trim. and keep the ball centered.
-
I pretty sure it has to do with the confined space. Example, Hot Air Balloon, the gas is allowed to expand and exit the top hole in the balloon but as with the supercharger it is confined to a small space. This is forcing atoms to get packed tighter and tighter which I think is were you get your heat. the friction between the atoms as they want to expand away from each other.
-
Hot air balloons heat up the air inside the balloon and the result is an air less dense then the air outside which makes the balloon lighter then air. this causes the lighter balloon to float on the heavyer outside air.
-
This is why cars/trucks with Superchargers or turbo’s have "Intercoolers" to cool the air after it is compressed. By cooling the air there is an increase of 50 to over 100 horse power in some engines. The cooler air also provides better combustion.

I still have no idea what "pots" is/are... I ran a search and for nothing to help me out... even wiki didn't have anything. I have the X52 Pro and G940 and I see this term come up time and time again. Please help me feel less stupid and educate me, thanks...

How does one talk to other aircraft pilots in multiplayer with voice? Can you in game or do you need to use Teamspeak or Ventrilo?

Thanks Yo-Yo, Keep up the good work!

Just a quick question, but first I am finally getting it... got my first kill 1v1 with everything equal and AI on Execellent. Does the AI's damage model follow the same rules as the Player? I seem to take a few rounds in a wing and I loose 1 or 2 guns every time, but I shot the heck out of an AI wing had white smoke and darker grey smoke coming out of three holes in his right wing and he was still able to out climb me. I stalled first ruddered over to correct the vertical stall and and the AI fell in behind me on the down climb and manged to kill me with a quick burst. When I watched the track he was still firing all six guns. The DM showed damage accross the AI right wing where as a player I would have lost the use of my guns. Was this just visual or is the DM for the AI or the Player not completely refined yet? Either way, I must try harder. Love the sim.

its probably due to the rudder bug. where 5 degrees rudder trim is equal to about 10. see Yo-Yo's post in http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91093

Before the mission starts you are prompt with "Mission Planning". You can change your Skin there or open up the mission in the Mission Editor. And Welcome to the forum

BHawthorne, Thanks for the info, I just picked it up.

PeterP, Thanks for the input, you are right I had to re-read post #23 when I first read it I read "I am sure the stick must shake when firing"... and completely over looked the "not" my mistake. I like your idea of adding it to the FF Tune menu, but couldn't ED also make the plane "shake" a little like it does "in start-up"? I have fired a .50 cal in the Army and they do have quite a bit of recoil. The vehicle mount absorbed most of it though. What I am thinking of when I say "shake" is like the old gun camera footage more of a vibration then a shake...

Hey ED Testers, I hope this helps narrow down the search for this Canopy Sound Bug. As I stated last night I noticed I was not having the sound bug when I installed my new G940 and I did when I was using my Saitek but it came back after I switched back over. Well, when I first started flying with my new joystick I was creating a mission in the Mission Editor flying a P-51 with a "Task" of "Nothing" and did not experience the Bug. Late that night I felt I was comfortable with the Force Feedback and switched the Mission "Task" to "CAS" to try my hand at rockets and bombs. The Sound Bug then re-appeared. Just now I ran a quick test in the ME with my P-51 in each "Task" with a "Takeoff from Runway" and found I only had the Sound bug on "Tasks - AFAC, CAS, Ground Attack". At Batumi changing nothing else from the default I also experienced some weird throttle up when I had my throttle set to Zero on a few but did not take notes of which ones. It was only like 3 different Tasks. Happy Flying
