So i'm looking for something that doesn't exist (yet). That's fine, it basicly means i don't have to look any further into it for now, although i saw some rudimentary WP-ing in the first mission of the FC3 campaign.Perhaps i can find what i want overthere. Thx anyways.

More performance issues, I think I found a culpit!
BRooDJeRo replied to lxsapper's topic in Game Performance
The same sidewinder sticks could still have different firmware in the PROMS. To reduce productioncost they dont use EPROMS which you can erase and re-program' with updated firmware. Microsoft uses a 3rd party to cheapy fabricate in china, then put MS on it and sell it for 1800%. Buy a joystick from someone that is specialised in it. MS is better in software. -
WTT (want to trade): 'missiongoals' for 'set as JTAC' option.

Is it currently possible to have waypoints with names created like for the A-10C, but for the F-15C of FC3? I haven't looked deeper into it, but it doesn't seem to function as with the A-10C does it? I'm particurlarly looking at the WP name apearing on the HUD of the F-15C. Or have i overlooked something? Perhaps i need a FC3 manual, if it already exists, from somewhere and learn how the F-15's WP system works in detail. Perhaps there isn't any existing detail simply because the function isn't fully operational. Who can tell me this?

Im also having trouble with seeing 2 missiles sticked right on the body one in front of eachother with overlaping. Is this used the same way in reality? -
Modern day aircraft for me too pretty much. Although the Vietnam era is a percievable ideaplatform for a simulator, i think what happened there shouldn't get too much happy-pappy. Two of my personal reasons i might be less interested. (Aircraft design with agent dispensing into mind for irradicating babies, troops being payed by the ear)

Cant i just buy a LOMAC licence officialy and install a download or something? All the downloads seem to be addons for the hardcopy isnt it? I just want to fly FC3 stuffz.. Why so difficult Mr. Ubi?

Hi there, I'v been attemptng to buy a hardcopy of LOMAC from lockon.co.uk, however at the point where i'm logged in, have it in the cart and press the link to the form of billing info and location to send the box to. At this point i'm getting security errors and nice commercials on te bottom of somesort of secure transaction agency called SagePay i never heard of. At this point all my instincts say to move along and dont click on anything anymore. The first attempt gave me a http://etc... page. the 2nd time it started with utm://etc..., the 3rd a regualr http://etc. again. Is just the ssl certificate out of date or bills unpayed and is it ok to proceed or are my doubts correct and should i stay away for now?

Also dont think of this game as it is a standard game. It has many settings and yes, standard controls need to be carefully adjusted according your hardware. This takes time, finetuning even more... Theres alot to learn you're not used to think of. Its a simulation of a real airplane with real systems. In multiplayer people tend to also learn RL battletactics and communications. You'll find that real training knowledge is being spread. Forget about Battlefield 3 in this regard. Good luck.

Portforwarding should only be relevant for incoming signals. In DCS case the port YOU have set up. Masterserverlisting is initialy an outgoing connection from your server. Unless your routers/firewalls need outgoing connections setup too. When you can use a browser to this forum without setting anything up then outgoing is always open. Certain packetfiltering could put trouble on the table though. The ones that block pinging and tracing for instance. Anti-DDOS settings have never given me any problems.

Guess it's a good sign seen from the other side that a bunch of overgrown 30+ years old childeren cant wait for ED to spew something out of their bags..

<shivers> Omg, you almost let me brainlessly buy FC3 before it comes out of beta... -
Thx for the awesome presentation Mr. Wags! I'll be looking forward to version 1.2.4. This video totaly brought back my interest in DCS. The only questions i'm left with is: When? Are the network issues coming at peace in version 1.2.3 so we can all enjoy the feeling that you have behind your screen?

DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7570_69: crashes to Win XP SP3 desktop

Make sure the wife will scream for 64BIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! Im afraid youre looking at at CPU, Mainboard, RAM and grafics overhaul as well as the OS unfortunatly. Good luck with the wife. De groenteboer. -
Yeah, there seems to be some stuff going on there isnt it. Im not sure if i should feel bad about it, but when i need to use settings that undercut the local network security then im sorry, then its no DCS server. I could live with a distinct series of ports, but opening it all up is nogo erea for me. There is a basic need of knowing what intended connections go where. For now thats officialy only 10308 or what you set yourself. Untill ED has officialy something else in the manual im going to stick to it. When having a KC135 tanker in a mission means lower security than you might want to concider removng it for the time being. But what do i know? Im raised by some people with a western society false fear mindset which i debate by securing myself.

Im not going into full details in public or people i dont physicaly know due to security reasons that are needed these days. What i can tell you is that only the standard DCS port is open from outside when the server is up. The portnumber is coupled to static intranet adresses in combination with the relevant hardware MAC adresses. This seems to work for me. If anything else does an attempt at connecting on other ports or portscans are being done than everything shows up in the logs of the routers. In other words everything out of the ordinary. Im not sure if that security is still in place for the intranet with DMZ settings. depends on the logsettings. The standard windows firewall has an eventviewer and most 3rd party firewall do too in advanced sections of the software. It shows everything trying to connect etc. A step further is a packetviewer/sniffer like Wireshark that has record options and such for later packet examination in case a 'The Funny Man' is paying you a visit.
