  1. I guess an atempt at placing the flightshowcrowd on the deck will fail just as hard in regard to the topic 'Populating Carrier Deck'. :blow:
  2. Have you tried deleting the axis assignment in DCS and reassigning them? The standard input that DCS assigns automaticly for my X52 throttlequadrant is in fact the thumbslider. I need to set it manualy to work properly. Perhaps something similar is happening with you. Reassigning all axis in DCS and keep the HOTAS software axis blanco or even shutting it down to nail down the problem. Have you concidered trying different USB ports on your machine when all axis are recognised in DCS or even try the stick in another game to make sure nothing is wrong with the HOTAS? And renaming your settingsfolder so DCS will generate new? Settingsfile corruption is possible after updating.
  3. This is a problem about FPS problems between the recent version and the previous one. In this thread the problem is the FPS difference between 2 different DCS products that represent the same item. Im not sure if you want your problem here. This is where you mixed in in a nuttshell: ED: Hey, gamerdudes! We have something new that support next gen hardware about the same product. The older thing doesnt work there so you need to DL this different thing. Gamer far away in the yukon: OMG! ED, your something new is different! Another forum dweller: No Sjit....
  4. Landing yes, but any further carrier operations, communication, missionstart capabilitys? Its known to be not further functional than this.
  5. Yes, the HDR bug is confirmed. Its monday in Moscow in a few hours only. Im not sure if its entirely correct to place a full comparison between the 2 products youre mentioning. One is a part of the other one thats true, but World is way more extensive. The older standalone A-10C also represents a 32 bit era and DCS world 64 bit. Its slightly going into the direction of comparing apples with potatoes. What are your systemspecs and OS? Maybe thats already posted in the thread, but while im typing this i cant remember. Edit: ah damn, its in your bio. But still...your OS 32 or 64? At what clockspeed is you memory running? 1333 Mhz, 1666 Mhz etc. Are busspeeds on your board meeting boardstandards?
  6. Take a look at these steps if it gives any improvement, when it doesnt theres no harm done, only time spend. Im not sure if you have C++ X32 installed atm. When it is, see what happens when the 32 bit version is deinstalled. Just taking the first 2 steps and disable antivirus can solve alot. - Deinstall and Reinstall this C++ 2010 X32 and X64 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=5555 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=14632 - Run this DirectX installer http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=8109 - Windows updated - Drivers fresh and new, reinstallation of drivers when updates from manufacturers take some time - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Saved Games/DCS/Logs - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Saved Games/DCS/Tracks/Multiplayer - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Appdata/Local/temp (skip files in use) - Clear files in C:/Windows/Temp - Clear files in C:/Windows/Prefetch - Run Windows Diskcleanup, optionaly clear shadowcopys under advanced - Run diskchecks on all your harddrives - Turn off scedualed Defragmentation and do that manualy when needed - Run defragmentation - Turn off Windows update and do that manualy when needed - Turn off System Restore - Turn off Allow remote assistance - Turn off antivirus - Unplug any hardware that isnt needed for DCS play or in case of problems unplug everything but one mouse and 1 keyboard - Restart computer - End processes manualy that arent needed in the Windows Taskmanager (ctrl-alt-del) - Run DCS through the shortcuts in the START -> Programs -> Eagle Dynamics, start with single play in through the missioneditor first. Before you start a mission, SAVE it first. - When problems stay, concider a new DCS download and installation
  7. You sir are correct improvement is needed, still alot of problems can be stabilised bewteen now and when better code is being created. Understand too that many people with similar systems dont suffer from all these errors and weird crashes constantly and share what they do to keep errors and crashes to a minimum. But as said before, im providing what i do to keep things stable on my end and with a bit of luck theres something in that list that makes the threadstarters life a little bit better too. This is about the threadstarters problem and not your personal opinion about ED's products. Theres many places already on this forum where you can voice your opinion.
  8. Atm the ships function as decoration, target or supergun. Maybe thats suposed to be different in FC3, no idea. Ive seen no carrier functionality in DCS yet.
  9. Then dont do it, all fine by me. Keep in mind though its for ruling everything else possible and impossible out, not for feeding personal opinions. Official boohaa on this (scroll down in 'bugs and problems'): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88164
  10. I was more thinking of a price between $20-30 for a map, its different for me when it includes extra objects like aircraft and vehicles and compatibility with other modules. $50-60 is a price i would pay for a full game, not for a specific single module or map.

  12. Sometimes simplicity can be awesome. http://www.whatismyip.com/
  13. Having all sorts of different people on your server from everywhere is fun. Im not a fan of generalisation, but due to noticably more misbehaviour of a free product by less mature people i dont have the Toad in any publicly hosted missions. Unrest is down to a minimum.
  14. What about less messing around on open servers and polute it with weird 3rd party programs and poorly personaly modified mods or making it crash on purpose? Im certain servers will open up alot more with better behaviour.
  15. EDGE!!! Hold yur crotch for the time being.
  16. Does it make any difference if everything running beside DCS is minimised, like TS only has activity in the systembar? Also no sidebar with applications.
  17. Doesnt that make you glare to a specific government to stimulate companys somehow to dig a hole and put a cable in it instead of buying more JDAM's? :glare:
  18. You sir have been perfectly victimised by the method 'product placement'. :megalol:
  19. Im afraid that at some point you'll need somesort of an internet connection though, but it can have many reasons why its not. Thats cool. Some problems are known and being adressed right now like the flickering. Keep in mind that DCS world is intended for 64bit OS, 32bit OS gives memory problems. Do you get any improvement when you follow the next steps? - Deinstall and Reinstall this C++ 2010 X32 and X64 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=14632 - Run this DirectX installer http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=8109 - Windows updated - Drivers fresh and new, reinstallation of drivers when updates from manufacturers take some time - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Saved Games/DCS/Logs - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Saved Games/DCS/Tracks/Multiplayer - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Appdata/Local/temp (skip files in use) - Clear files in C:/Windows/Temp - Clear files in C:/Windows/Prefetch - Run Windows Diskcleanup, optionaly clear shadowcopys under advanced - Run diskchecks on all your harddrives - Turn off scedualed Defragmentation and do that manualy when needed - Run defragmentation - Turn off Windows update and do that manualy when needed - Turn off System Restore - Turn off Allow remote assistance - Turn off antivirus - Unplug any hardware that isnt needed for DCS play or in case of problems unplug everything but one mouse and 1 keyboard - Restart computer - End processes manualy that arent needed in the Windows Taskmanager (ctrl-alt-del) - Run DCS through the shortcuts in the START -> Programs -> Eagle Dynamics, start with single play in through the missioneditor first. Before you start a mission, SAVE it first. - When problems stay, concider a new DCS download and installation
  20. Try this before you realy go searching into the weird stuff. Making use of the following steps seems to keep my DCS a bit more stable than it is without some advanced maintenance. - Deinstall and Reinstall this C++ 2010 X64 version, check if the X32 version is installed and deinstall it (remove) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632 - Run this DirectX installer http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 - Windows updated - Drivers fresh and new, reinstallation of drivers when updates from manufacturers take some time - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Saved Games/DCS/Logs - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Saved Games/DCS/Tracks/Multiplayer - Clear files in C:/Users/<windows username>/Appdata/Local/temp (skip files in use) - Clear files in C:/Windows/Temp - Clear files in C:/Windows/Prefetch - Run Windows Diskcleanup, optionaly clear shadowcopys under advanced - Turn off scedualed Defragmentation and do that manualy when needed - Turn off Windows update and do that manualy when needed - Turn off System Restore - Turn off Allow remote assistance - Turn off antivirus - Unplug any hardware that isnt needed for DCS play or in case of problems unplug everything but one mouse and 1 keyboard - Restart computer - End processes manualy that arent needed in the Windows Taskmanager (ctrl-alt-del) - Run DCS through the shortcuts in the START -> Programs -> Eagle Dynamics, start with single play in through the missioneditor first. Before you start a mission, SAVE it first. Let me know if at least stable soloplay is possible. Multiplay is a total different story.
  21. Well, running a public dedicated server is the same as a LAN-party. The only difference is you most likely dont know who will join in and what level of knowkedge they have of the game. There is a performance difference for the serverhost when this person uses a different machine to host and connect to that himself like any other player. Makes sence as the machine you play on has more resourches for your gameplay and doesnt need to serve too. I think this is what youre trying to find out isnt it?
  22. Hmm, more programs = less DCS resourches. The reasoning behind having your program making your connection faster seems far fetched. When you need a program to stabilse stuff you could also look into what is actualy destabilsing and not needing another program. When you dont add any connection restrictions yourself you cant be faster than the copper wire alows you. A provider simply throttles your connection on how much youre willing to pay for speed and fully utilise that copper wire. When you have another provider telling you they have faster internet for you on the same wire, the only thing they do is throttle a little bit less than the other provider. Its still the same damn copper cable disapearing under the pedestrian roadsection from your house with perhaps another router. Be moar sceptical!
  23. Pm'd you one.
  24. I understand what youre trying to say. The boundries in access of high royaltys, the fact that your product will be state owned within chinese borders and a larger software piracy culture dont help at all. Very true. But...they have a new president since the last 2 weeks, hes more global than the previous one. Theres new hope. He has a beautyfull wife by the way. A very popular folk singer/songwriter and a ranking general in the army. Or shes a ranking general and has singing as a hobby that turned out to be successfull.
  25. Thats true, but how many chinese dont know english or for what ever reason dont want to learn english might still be potential new customers which arent right now? I dont know the anser personaly, but im sure that due to the worlds political environment of the past 50-100 years theres alot of catching up to do in terms of globalisation. For me as a northern european its starting to be interesting to also learn chinese as a global language beside english and spanish to be ready for whats to come in the next 50 years. At the moment China is growing so damn fast economicly that that government has certain blockades like no google access and such to have a certain brake on upcomming globalisation, the larger lower classes have huge trouble in keeping up while the economy goes faster by the minute. This is a sign that a transitional period will be stretched and transitional solutions are needed like in this case for the chinese gentlemen and his friends of this topic. Ofcourse its not up to me,but i recognise a win/win situation when i see one.
