The Official "Where's my Update" Thread
MFG62 Joker replied to Revvin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Guess what you get if you´re writing checks you can´t pay? The least you can expect is getting flak! So my post might be provocative. But it expresses the frustration you get when again and again promised things don´t turn out to be done. It wasn´t me who asked for or who demanded two weekly updates. I didn´t promise a community manager who should built up a vital communication with the community. It´s me who pledged for that project and in return is let down with unfulfilled promises. Not my understanding of positive treatment of a customer. Thats all. Call it lame, call it disrespectful, it´s just expression of how I feel at the moment. -

Isn´t the silence amazing? Heeeellloooo Luthier, what happend? Any news on the project? What prevents you to communicate with community on a regular basis? Ski accident? Another internet connection desaster? any other lame excuse? All those promises for a better communication (community manager: where are you?) but still: silence ... -
[Review] Simped F16/USB vs. MFG Crosswind
MFG62 Joker replied to [DBS]TH0R's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I recently bought my Crosswind Pedals (serial #14) and tested them with BoS, DCS and 1946. I´d like to advice that I was a very convinced user of simped pedals an thought: "better than german arts of mechanics and machinery will hardly be achived". Now I´m a Milan S disciple ... :smartass: The pedals are very sturdy, have exellent possibilities to be adjusted to your likes in terms of dimension and angles needed in your simpit. Today nothing can be said about a longterm use and wear of components. If I compare to material and construction desing of my simped pedals I would assume they are at least equally robust. 17 bearings and magnetic sensors help in precision and possible wear. price wise I would say they are NOT cheap but worth every Pfennig! Milans approach in terms of used electronics and software and the support provided is NOT comparable to any support by logitech, saitek, microsoft or any other producer of hardware of our genre. I think he does an oustanding job here especially in terms of support given, video tutorials, firmware upgrades and so on. The firmware upgrades are easy to implement through a software device, as easy as it could be! That said, its very easy to capitalize progress made in firmware development of the pedals. conclusion: I´m excited. maybe you already realized?! I´d like to absolutely recommend this fine hardware to all of you who think about buying a new set of pedals!:joystick: -
my guess would be Beechcraft T-6 , OK George wa a little faster

[Review] Simped F16/USB vs. MFG Crosswind
MFG62 Joker replied to [DBS]TH0R's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Since I used simpeds for nearly 10 years and mine are now kinda worn, I´m happy that I found your review and that milan took the effort and developed his masterpiece. From what I saw in your review and what I heard from milan, those are going to be my next rudder pedals. I take milans word and hope they are "Precise, comfortable, adjustable, realistic, sturdy..." so they live through another decade, like my simpeds did. At first glance 260+ € is a lot of money for a piece of 'toy'. Considering how many hours I spent in my pit 'playing' different sims (il2, CloD, DCS, FSX, RoF) it´s a lot cheaper than having a hobby like the movies and spend money on DVD`s bluerays and cinema-tickets. So I 'preordered' and will be happy when milan is ready to deliver. Thank you Thor for a great review.:pilotfly::joystick: -
+1! BTW there is more than one way to have fun flying a simulator. Why should we as a community try and keep content and potential gamers out? A bigger community is a stronger market, is to be provided more and better content because its economically making sense. :joystick:

UH-1H and export scripting
MFG62 Joker replied to MFG62 Joker's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Is there really nobody who has even tried to bind (export UH1 Data) DCS:UH-1H to Helios or HawkTouch? -
Did anybody manage to export data for reading - switch-states or - instrument data (e.g. HSI, radio frequencies) out of DCS:UH-1H to e.g. Helios yet? at least I didn´t find a way to get Helios profile working with instrument readings?! :helpsmilie:

Low RPM Toggle missing in dcs controls ?
MFG62 Joker replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Please don´t be offended: you mean and believe ... that´s good for you, but: I´d like to know! So I politely ask Belsimtek or anybody of the official testers: are those missing mappings going to be handled? -

I know it was there my question was is anbody official aware of it. Since I´m using a BETA state of the software I´m ok with glitches. Maybe understandingly I would like to know wheater problems reported are to be approved and/or fixed. Thats all:pilotfly: -

Vortex ring state tonned down in 1.2.4.12913.167
MFG62 Joker replied to hreich's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I understood what he meant. But you can try to fly a very modestly controlled maneuver if flown outside the operational limits there should be a correponding reaction. I just fear that step by step the AFM gets corrected to the arcade side while trying to gratify complaints about complexity. -

Maybe you should learn to understand and accept the operational envelope of the crate and take care that you operate within its limits. Thats not easy, but thats the way its done. After all this is a simulation and not a JohhnyJoystick´s hop-in-and-do-some-pilot-tricks game. Don´t be offended, that´s just my 2ct. -
Since I want to built different 'boxes' for multiple cockpits A10C Huey F100 yes, I´m interested in having someone who is able to offer standard panels custom panel creation +1!

@Jorge: you defined HSI 143 deg as initial point for turn into baseleg. Since there is also mentioned 135 deg (for cat A&B?) how do you know which HSI pointing you take? Is A,B,C,D categorization for airplane weight etc?
-
ok it works, must be something in my misson. Cool stuff man! :pilotfly:
-
hey ebs, I tried it, trk shows everything. Could you please post the mission file too?
-
I meant in general. Like Anapa and Krasnodar PA don´work für me but TACAN is OK and ILS Sochi also. I just want to be shure I don´t run into a feature-bug, where I think it´s a bug but it´s a feature, maybe part of fog of war for example ...
-
Great JOB! I get the TACAN working with your Modfiles. Didn´t get the ILS working. Are there any general limitations for ILS e.g. weather, blue / red forces other?

Any tips to survive the modern battlefield?
MFG62 Joker replied to IonicRipper's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
dont expect to much: calculated livetime for a german CAS (G91, Alphajet, early Tornado) pilot in a WWIII szenario would have been around 7 !! minutes. If you go in and have no clue what the threats are and where you should expect them, you´re gonna die. Simple as that. - Fly with extreme discipline, don't let the thrill of chase rule! - Try and find an overview (e.g. in mission briefing) of what is going and don't loose your situational awareness. - The moment you loose tactical overview you start making fatal errors. - Plan your attacks with a save egress area to which you can withdraw savely. - Try to fly coordinated with others (online) and make best use of any information you get about the threat szenario. Last not least: Fly online to learn from others who have pressed refly-button and learned from their mistakes. All this will help to reach above mentioned 7 minutes. Pray for gods help and luck to last longer.:smilewink: -
yep, definitely! it´s ready in one übi ...
