so they built them with no aileron and rudder trim
MFG62 Joker replied to leafer's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
most profiler software of joysticks are able to do the job, :joystick: no need to do an allmighty implementation into the software, especially when this is going to eat up hours and hours to a doubtful effect? You´re not going to fly for hours straight and level, in the heat of the fight there will be no differnce to a non trimmed crate, since p-factor, AoA, speed and tourque will change in every moment. -

MFG62 Joker replied to leafer's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
Just to get that straight: from the last document you will see that it´s under the chapter 'Einfliegen'. This was a process where freshly produced planes where set up corrcetly in terms of adjustments and where final quality checks where undertaken before the planes were handed over to the Geschwader. Only in very rare cases and only when very experienced pilots (we did only have a few of those by the end of the war) reported that a wing was hanging or the tail was deflected would ground personell (schwarze Männer) adjust the otherwise never touched trimm tabs. Take in account that by that time a plane was either not used at all (due to a lack in fuel replacement) or only for a few engagements. Tons of planes were destroyed within first 5 flights by that time. This due to the fact that german fighters were easily outnumbered 10:1 quite a serious thing for the rare experinced pilots. Greenhorns only had very few hours and could be happy when surviving start, engament and landing. So there simply was no need for mainenance or adjustments to the likes of pilots. And after all its not so hard in the simulation because you do not have high forces in stick and rudder! -
It is not so hard to understand, is it? It´s not there yet and Sith is taking care of it. Just give it some time, if it can be done with a reasonable effort, I´m sure it will be done. And be sure to enjoy what is already there, one - if not the - deepest and most accurate simulation of a warbird! :pilotfly: :pilotfly: :pilotfly:

There is no thing like a time set in the bombs fuse. The fuse has a (relatively) fixed time of delay. For SC bombs you have the following (I can provide original docs if necessary): SC Bombs have detontator C/98. This detonator is built in different variants. If it is with delay (mit Verzögerung) there are different types with different delay times. Typically C/98 with 0.25 to 1.5 s delay. The igniting load of the detonator is heated by a wire, through the current from the capacitor. If current is high (i.e. capacitor load is high) it goes off with no delay. With activating of the bomb by switching on ZSK (Zünderschaltkasten) the detonator is connected to the electrical current loading the capacitor within the detonator. ZSK switching determines how much energy is loaded to the capacitor by that it is controlled if the detonator goes off immediatly or after a certain time (particular by the detonator type). When the bomb is released this current is interrupted and the loading of the ignitor starts. After a few seconds the detonator is hot. When the bomb hits the target the detonator blows up either directly (oV ohne Verzögerung) or after the delay time of the detonator in the bomb.

it depends: MW50 is cooling the engine internally. If you use MW50 lets say with medium to moderate boost, you could use it without damage until it is empty - or until engine temperatures (oil and water) drop to low. As a matter of fact it was stated that MW50 could be used as extra cooling in any situation where necessary. That´s just out of my head how I recall it. Had to look up the sources, must have been in one of many books sitting here on the shelf.:music_whistling: says who? Don´t get me wrong, it´s just that I never heard about that.

Very good post! There is a lot of grey inbetween black & white. Sometimes I have enough of that fanboy<-->whiner ping-pong, it´s just not so simple. ED is standing it´s ground and I have respect for that. Are they without fault? No, they are humans! :pilotfly: -
please stay in the Mig-21 era. +1! e.g. F4 Phantom II rules the skies ....

Suppose I don´t want to use mouse pointer to operate actuators (because that spoils my immersion). The thing is: I don´t get how am I supposed to know which knob am I turning with which gesture. Mayby you think that every of the 1001 knobs and switches of e.g. a A10C has its own gesture?! If so, might be fun to memorize ... :book: I love my knobs and switches from homebuilt HID´s and my Warthog! There I just do the real thing rather than fiddeling around in the air to tell my simulator 'APU ON'.

IMHO that concept is usesless for a flightsimulator. Even if the System was able to track what you do with your fingers, how should you decide if you have the correct switch on your fingertips? There is a reason, why differnt switches, knobs etc. have different shapes and different surfaces. You can feel it if you are about actuating the correct thing by feel in your hand. With the system described you have no feedback and would never know what knob your turning, what switch you´re ticking. Very nice for playing paper-scissors-rock though :baby: :music_whistling:

Fresh install of DCS World 1.2.8 Installed all Modules with Modulmanager. All Input Profiles set up from scratch. Position Lights Landing Light does not work. Switches get animated correctly, Inputmapping to Joystick controller ok. Just no light! Anybody else with this 'bug' or is it me?

Nice! Thanks for the advice, although I didn´t ask for it! Just try this: Shout out for free beer in your pub. As soon as orders come in, tell them you didn´t mean this week! Wait what happens :) -

Guess what you get if you´re writing checks you can´t pay? The least you can expect is getting flak! So my post might be provocative. But it expresses the frustration you get when again and again promised things don´t turn out to be done. It wasn´t me who asked for or who demanded two weekly updates. I didn´t promise a community manager who should built up a vital communication with the community. It´s me who pledged for that project and in return is let down with unfulfilled promises. Not my understanding of positive treatment of a customer. Thats all. Call it lame, call it disrespectful, it´s just expression of how I feel at the moment. -

Isn´t the silence amazing? Heeeellloooo Luthier, what happend? Any news on the project? What prevents you to communicate with community on a regular basis? Ski accident? Another internet connection desaster? any other lame excuse? All those promises for a better communication (community manager: where are you?) but still: silence ... -
[Review] Simped F16/USB vs. MFG Crosswind
MFG62 Joker replied to [DBS]TH0R's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I recently bought my Crosswind Pedals (serial #14) and tested them with BoS, DCS and 1946. I´d like to advice that I was a very convinced user of simped pedals an thought: "better than german arts of mechanics and machinery will hardly be achived". Now I´m a Milan S disciple ... :smartass: The pedals are very sturdy, have exellent possibilities to be adjusted to your likes in terms of dimension and angles needed in your simpit. Today nothing can be said about a longterm use and wear of components. If I compare to material and construction desing of my simped pedals I would assume they are at least equally robust. 17 bearings and magnetic sensors help in precision and possible wear. price wise I would say they are NOT cheap but worth every Pfennig! Milans approach in terms of used electronics and software and the support provided is NOT comparable to any support by logitech, saitek, microsoft or any other producer of hardware of our genre. I think he does an oustanding job here especially in terms of support given, video tutorials, firmware upgrades and so on. The firmware upgrades are easy to implement through a software device, as easy as it could be! That said, its very easy to capitalize progress made in firmware development of the pedals. conclusion: I´m excited. maybe you already realized?! I´d like to absolutely recommend this fine hardware to all of you who think about buying a new set of pedals!:joystick:
