No probs mate

I think you and I must have the only working, unmodified Cougars in existence! Mine still works, just, although the pots are on their way out as they spike every now and again. Not bad for about 8+ years of service... I don't think you'll be disappointed with the WH mate, far from it. From what I can tell, Thrustmaster have done an excellent job with this one, compared to the Cougar at least. I think they've had to tbh, as there is a fair bit of competition around at the moment. Comparing the WH to the Cougar, the WH feels and looks much better IMO. It almost makes the Cougar look, dare I say it, 'cheap' in comparison. The WH is big and meaty, whereas the Cougar is somewhat dainty in comparison :D It's definitely built to last :) I don't like the microstick, but maybe with the right setup and some getting used to it, it will be ok. The coolie hat takes some getting used to. It's easy to accidentally press down rather than left or right; you almost have to pull it towards the top left or right corner when you adjust the MFCDs. This is only the case when you have the throttles forward, it's ok when they are upright. After two days I'm used to it now, so no biggy. I love the new, offset pinky switch (on the stick ;)). It's soooo much easier to operate. The trigger/button tension takes some getting used to, but I like it how it is. It 'feels' realistic - much stronger tension than the Cougar. Throttle tension is easier to set to a decent level, other than on or off on the Cougar. Just loving the precision and tension on the stick. Ok, I'm used to a stock Cougar, so it will be interesting to see what U2NXT modded Cougar uses think of it. But I think it is top notch. The hall sensors seem to be doing their job nicely - no evidence of spiking/odd behaviour (reaches out for a very woody forest and touches it repeatedly :D) Like I said before, just having everything to hand and having a realistic A-10C HOTAS that appears to be the dogs doo doos, makes this sim even better than what it already is :D :D

Cheers! Glad you like it :)

Try this mate: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1015004#post1015004 It may get you in to Target until TM fix the problem
-
Ok, the problem, for me at least, seems to be keyboard/location related. This workaround got Target running for me: I can now get in to Target and have a play around. Obviously this is only a workaround and not ideal as I now have a weird (;)) US keyboard layout! Still, if you want to have a play around in Target, then this MAY work for you. TM are on the case, so hopefully it will get fixed soon

^^ lol mate :D I feel your pain! Completely agree that a worldwide, simultaneous launch would be imposable. I'm just amazed it came to the UK so soon (or not in Coolt's case ;)) Dragon> Yes, I did a similar kind of thing, but I had more of a curve on my axis. I think I will try your method though, as the end point needs to be quite 'high' in order to slew the cursor around quickly in the TAD and the HUD using full deflection.

New Checklist for Warthog I've made the following check list that simply puts the HOTAS commands onto Seahawk's A5 template. Warthog users (or any other HOTAS users for that matter) should find it useful. I've used the table from the official HOTAS document in the DCS download area, so if anyone has any problems with me doing that, then I'm happy to change it :) You can get it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/427577009/Check_Lists.zip p/w: Warthog PS: The images at the bottom aren't meant to be 'read'. They are just a quick indication of which table you are refering to

There are some issues with the current RC and Win7 64. Some people have had sucess and others haven't: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60043 Please help TM by registering with the bug tracking page on their site and reporting your problem. http://target-bugtracker.thrustmaster.com/ Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon (although you don't need Target to use your WH in A-10C.

Exactly what I've been doing :D (fears for life and legs it...) A mini 'pit would be on the cards for me too, if I had the space. You could almost do with a F-16 type of arm rest for both the stick and the throttle as your hands are quite high up off the desk. If you centre mounted the stick, as per the real thing, it would help as you could rest your forearm on your thigh... Yep, both USB and both plug and play. Literally.

Just getting into the JTAC, but there seems to be little info in the current beta manual. Any chance of an instructional video (other than Wags') or written instructions on how to setup cool missions like this in the ME?
-
Thanks Dragon, I hada play around with the modifiers earlier - I did't know you could do that. Great to know! I also have the microstick setup as well, it needed a small tweak. How are you finding it compared to the Cougar? I'm going to have a go at reinstalling TARGET, so I'll try and run the exe as administrator. EDIT> Still no joy reinstalling as admin.
-
Worked a treat, much better now - many thanks dimebug  For those guys who asked> EAC works fine (although the switch doesn't move in the sim, as we already know). All other switches, including the pinky, work as advertised. Which is cool :)

Green lights of TM Warthog Throttle

I was also wondering this, but as I power off (completely) my PC after a session I didn't think any more of it... -
The WH works fine without TARGET for now, minus the over sensitive microstick that I'm experiencing (sounds painful ;)) Would be good to see if there is some way of adjusting the curve for it though. It's weird that some people have it working on Win7 64 and others don't (me!). I have UAC turned off and I installed the .net framework that it suggested upon installation... Any other ideas?

I'm happy to be your lab rat  (and I aint so little either! :D) :D :D :D :D Nope, haven't tested the 10 deg axis rotation yet... Better images to follow if I get the chance. ... Back on topic. Are there any ED Testers who have managed to set up their microstick without using TARGET? (current version of TARGET in Win7 64-bit is porked, lol!)

Here's one to keep you going mate ;) ;) ;) :D

Mower> Amazon UK are normally pretty good on pre-releases, so I'm amazed a small, independent flight shop got them before they did. Viper> I have to say that my first impressions are: Wow! I can actually fly smoothly and precisely!! The stick is so smooth compared to my stock Cougar. Only small inputs are needed and coordinated turns with rudder pedals are a treat. There's pretty much zero centre play too, which makes a change :D Lots of lovely machined metal and solid castings. All stick hats are metal except the CMS hat. There's a nice matt finish to the stick and base plate, unlike the smoother paint finish on the Cougar. The microstick on the throttle is a bit sensitive, as mentioned, but hopefully a bit of tweaking will sort that. Switches are super chunky and robust, it really feels like it is built to last. Having everything literally is to hand is such a great feeling. Button presses take some force, so be prepared to add some 'positiveness' to your inputs! This stick make the sim even better, with respect to the realism factor (which is why I wanted to buy it really). Cold & dark start-ups are wicked with the new throttle! Will try and post some pics asap. Badaboom> Ok mate, in short... IT's FRICKIN' AWESOME :D Dimebug> Can you elaborate on this a little further? You alluded to the Y saturation parameter. Presumably this setting is in DCS: A-10C? In the 'Options' menu? I couldn't see anything that related to the microstick axis under 'controllers', but I'll have another look.
-
He he, lol ;) Sorry mate :)
-
Anyone finding it a bit sensitive? It's almost impossible to use the TGP with stock settings, however the TAD seems to be ok. Haven't run any kind of calibration yet, just plugged it in... Might also try knocking the THR slew rate down in the status page.
-
I'm also getting the same. Tried running as admin, but no joy. Might try and report it to the tm bug forum... Script editor seems ok here as well.
-
Hang in there mate, it will come soon. Have to say that my first impressions are: Wow! I can actually fly smoothly!! The stick is so smooth compared to my stock Cougar. Only small inputs are needed and coordinated turns with rudder pedals are a treat. The microstick on the throttle is a little tetchy, but I'm hoping I can sort that within TARGET. Switches are super chunky and robust. Everything is to hand and works well. Awesome!!!

... and WTF can't you pick it up the next day? Why do you have pick it up after 48 hours? Punishment: For being at work, having a job and not being in before 6pm. -

You may well joke about new pants. I may need some. Just received an email form Flightstore saying it has been shipped. I almost pooped myself. I thought this thread was a wind up tbh. .... off to buy new pants :helpsmilie: Coolts> you need to send one of your super emails to Amazon telling them to get their fingers out.
