  1. ^^ lol, lets hope so. Although I'm happy getting to grips with this version! :) Phoned Flightstore this morning (they had "expected 25th Oct" on their site) and they said it will arrive "at the end of October"! Whatever that means. May be booking Monday off as well mate with any luck!
  2. ^^ Looks awesome. Liking the FAA style as well.
  3. Awesome (and compact) check list
  4. I also hope this gets added. Want to setup up my Tipro MID prgrammable keyboard asap!
  5. Couldn't agree more. This sim rocks! :D Just getting into the JTAC stuff now - it adds another awesome dimention.
  6. Yes, I'd noticed this. In the shooting gallery mission I get: 251 Would be interested to know what it means.
  7. Yeah, I know what you mean mate, it all seems to be a bit low-key over here wrt the launch. I also noticed that Amazon had dropped the price lol. From the email that I received, it sounded as though hell would freeze over before they dropped it! Maybe they haven't had that many pre-orders? I cancelled my order with them as soon as I got that email and went with Flightstore. They are the same price and have an earlier delivery date. I just hope they can deliver as promised. Monday is the big day with those guys - it can't come sooner! I'm sticking with my Saitek Pro Gamer rudder pedals for now. It's a shame Simped don't make a USB set of pedals that have proper brake axes, otherwise I would have a set now. I may go for the new Saitek rudder pedals if the ever materialise.
  8. Indeed, but my point is that you shouldn't have to if I've selected 'imperial' ;) I know what you're saying though... :)
  9. Getting the same in th ME here too. Hope this gets fixed/changed as it's a pain having to convert meters to feet ;)
  10. Cheers fella!
  11. ... When the Vastus Lateralis muscle in your leg goes pop and you have to take horse tranquillisers and go for physio. (no joke, this happened to me this week after a rather severe right hand coordinated turn into Batumi! Not good :()
  12. ^^ Lt. Seahawk Great looking check list mate  I've been thinking of making an A5 version of a check list for a while now, as I have a similar binder. This may save me a bit of time! Would there be any chance of getting hold of an electronic copy of yours? Shu77> I'm loving the idea of your ICAO approach charts! I think it should replicate a real world approach plate as closely as possible. The sample you've posted looks really good and I'm liking the format. As you say, the background image needs sharpening up, but otherwise it looks good. Will you be providing IFR approach charts as well as airport diagrams?
  13. I've also wondered about this and what impact it will have on accuracy. I may have to try it out using a grid of vehicles, picking various ones at random locations.
  14. Welcome onboard :) Any of the non-Nevada airfields are a good place to start and have fairly simple layouts. I'd stay away from Nellis until you get a bit more proficient (lots of taxiways etc to negotiate). Pressing F10 and zooming in to the airfield with give you a good idea of the layout. The best thing is to try a few of the training missions that start off from the runway at either Batumi or Kobuleti and go from there. The Shooting Gallery mission starts off from cold iirc, but that is at Nellis (I think). There are one or two others. The best thing is to create your own. It's very easy, as Panzertard suggests. The training missions are also a good place to start. Remember it's a beta and a lot of things are not finished. Reading the beta forum will help you get up to speed, and reading the manual is a must! Good luck  HTH
  15. Worryingly I've seen that before. It was taken in Ghana around 20 years ago. The 'pilot' is sat in Twin Otter.
  16. Superb.
  17. I agree, but I can see where Lio is coming from. I find the lazy retort "RTMF" a bit rude and unhelpful. Something like "read x in the manual, try it out in the sim, the read x again in the manual as it will now be in context" far more useful and constructive than "RTFM". I agree that he should RTMF several times though!
  18. Too right mate. It will hopefully be the ultimate stick for this sim. Next week can't come soon enough. My Cougar's doing my head in!
  19. +1 for Good Reader. Also use my iPhone, as I already had it. Handy for sneaking a quick read of the manual, but not ideal. Still prefer a paper copy, but will wait until the final draft until I print/buy a copy (assuming a published version is still in the works?)
  20. Flightstore are also taking pre-orders in the UK. Sure is gonna sting a bit when they finally take the cash out of my account. Still, A-10C looks like being a long-lived sim, so should get plenty of use out of it. Until DCS: X-XX :D (insert your favourite aircraft designator here)
  21. No probs Matt, thanks for the heads-up.
  22. Same here, your video had me dropping multiple JDAMs in minutes. Plus I learnt a lot about the CDU. Top stuff
  23. Cheers fella  Hopefully it will be operational in beta2.
  24. I was going to do departures (stalls, spins, PSGs, etc) for my next training vid (after the manual reversion/trim vid is complete) but it's occurred to me that people might find a video tutorial on how to properly land the plane--as well as how to execute a crosswind landing--to be useful. I think this is something a lot of people would be interested in
