  1. Isn’t there dialogue about the landing gear not coming down? I thought it was a major part of the mission. (It’s been awhile since I flew it)
  2. Just press the multiple buttons at the same time. It’s automatic
  3. Jester can’t tell the difference between a dead but falling aircraft and a live one so he will continue call-outs until the aircraft crashes into the ground.
  4. I just recently switched from a Thrustmaster t16000 (constant wing snaps) to a Logitech g940 force feedback (no wing snaps). Now I don’t fly the F5uch since the wing snaps started but it definitely makes a difference for a couple reasons. 1. the ffb trim options in the special menu means much longer elevator axis so more ability to make smaller movements 2. You can “feel” the movement better 3. it’s harder with ffb to make those sudden movements that can cause wing snap And, 4. Possibly the recent update helped?
  5. I just want them to add the same feature the f4 has about stick forces so I can stop snapping my wings so easily.
  6. The only long term solution is to avoid updating DCS while in the middle of a campaign. Unfortunately it takes time for 3rd party developers to know what has changed, and then implement it. Not only that but their fixed then have to wait for ED to implement them usually. if you really can’t wait, just revert to the earlier DCS version
  7. It’s much better now than in the past (drivers). I run an amd 6950xt and I don’t notice any issues. Nvidia will always be a bit better performance but you have to decide if it’s worth the extra cost. The true competitor to the 7900 should be the 4090. The fact that you’re comparing to the 4080 is why the AMD would perform better. The AMD equivalent of the 4080 would be the 7800 series.
  8. I’m in a similar situation. I’ll still buy modules if they are special to me, but I’m really getting tired of parcelling out early access maps when really it’s just not done. I think I started down this road when I excitedly bought the F16 early access only to be disappointed that everything I clicked on seemed to be “in development” and half the weapons weren’t included. It’s only gotten worse since then and the money issue means that 3rd party devs are not the stable source of of new modules thought they were after the Hawk debacle.
  9. Being an emergency only hook, is it supposed to retract? I don’t think it has the hydraulics to do that.
  10. There is a setting in the special options to adjust it for your hardware.
  11. As title. Wondering if anyone has managed to get it working in VR (quest3) and if so if it’s worth it? I can’t stand the ghosting and have all frame generation off currently but this supposedly is better.
  12. I just want them to add the stick force setting that the F4 has. I can’t stop ripping off my wings.
  13. Depends when you last tried I suppose. There were updates a while back. Now on the deck you might get 10 miles out of it.
  14. That’s why it’s a high altitude missile where the air is thin. Down low its range is very limited.
  15. This is on an AMD 5600x with a 6950xt GPU and 32Gb ram
  16. If you’re running your computer at max setting with a 4070ti you’re already doing it wrong. Also comparing a scene on a carrier vs land is apples to oranges. While I would love more Phantom love I get an easy locked 55fps with the phantom in VR with a computer that’s several years out of date now. A lot of those settings that you’ve maxed out are really only for screenshots - not every day use. unless of course you’re exaggerating and being a drama queen
  17. In addition, Don’t forget that the engine will output different amounts of power based on altitude and airspeed. A vertical climb starting at 200 knots is different than one that starts at 500 knots. Same for altitude. A climb starting at sea level will be different than one starting at 15000ft.
  18. Yes, but the one I used didn’t pass multiplayer IC. I used VAICOM knee board which had the option of dictating notes.
  19. As a side note to all the F4 info, the rudder on the F18 is a very powerful dogfighting flight control. At low speed you can spin the aircraft around on its yaw axis while diving on a turning contact below you. It’s well worth learning how to use the rudder even in fully digital airframes.
  20. Did you start the jet? I think it waits for the radios to be up before anything happens.
  21. I’ve been experimenting a bit, while hand tracking works for pushing big buttons, I still find it slower and less accurate than using a mouse. You have to sort of push through the button, not just touch it. This makes it easy to hit the wrong button. Also- I keep hitting my desk. I could fix the desk issue by sitting further back but then I lose access to the mouse for all the stuff that doesn’t work with hand tracking. all said it’s fun for a few minutes and then I go back to mouse control.
  22. I realize this might be a bit off topic, but any way to get better hand tracking in VD, or hand tracking at certain times. I find when I enable hand tracking I can no longer use my mouse and the pointer for hand tracking seems to come out the top of my knuckles rather than in line with the finger tip
  23. The oculus (meta) beta drivers don’t work with openxr toolkit. It crashes on loading.
  24. You don’t need a bunch of rudder as the engines are pretty close together so not much yaw. The afterburner trick was common but mainly for very heavy loadouts.
  25. I tried both radios but never got a response from the tanker. Thankfully i had enough fuel to land. I also had a hard time following weasel 3-3 unless I locked him on tws. It’s fine when I was in close formation, but hard to distinguish him from the other f16s unless you’ve managed to stay with him right from takeoff.
