  1. the biggest thing i found with maneuvers like this is to avoid lots of collective. You only want enough to keep it controllable or it will work against you and slow you down instead of allowing you to climb like that. In the Ka-50 if you have too much collective then the rotors hit. The Apache doesn't have that problem but it still needs very low collective when able. Its all about using your momentum and timing.
  2. This sounds similar to what happens in VR when there’s a disconnect. I can see the image on my monitor, but must exit and relaunch the program to get it back in VR.
  3. It works fine. I was in the middle of a campaign myself before the carrier crash bug but it looks like they fixed that a couple hours ago
  4. I get it. I took a 6 month break and only recently returned, and I’m only flying- not doing all the extra work of creating and maintaining. Good luck and thanks
  5. The airflow along the fuselage and vertical stabilizer makes the plane straighten out as soon as the rudder input is removed. That, and the uncomfortable skidding feeling is why planes bank to turn. You can force it by holding the rudder over for long periods but it’s not a very efficient way to turn as you’re fighting aerodynamics.
  6. To fly the F14 with force feedback you have to load into it directly. Flying other aircraft and then flying the tomcat means FFB is messed up, so you live got to quit DCS, restart, and then load directly into the tomcat again. Surprisingly, the F4 doesn’t seem to have this issue (that I’ve noticed)
  7. I’ve been holding off on the Corsair until I’m sure it’s worth it. It is fun landing the p-47 on the Essex though. Seems to me the Corsair is just a lighter carrier capable version of the jug. (I know there’s more to it but that’s the initial impression from watching all the videos out there)
  8. I’d be happy if they fixed the force feedback issues. Who cares about fluff.
  9. Did they update the gimbal and sensors, or just because they are new and fresh?
  10. Yes, thanks. Couldn’t remember the name
  11. A recent movie that featured the Corsair in Korea made mention that go arounds were extremely discouraged because slamming the throttle forward would spin you into the ground/water
  12. It seems to be a problem on my end with VR. When I tried it pancake it worked fine (stuttering in spots but still workable). Thanks
  13. I wasn’t in the mood for troubleshooting yesterday so didn’t try too many things. Single player, nalchik, at the very beginning of the mission. Cold or hot start seemed the same. I did download the updated mission without deleting the old data folder so that could be it. I’ll try again soon
  14. Coming back after a 4 month hiatus from DCS, is anyone else having an issue flying the longbow or blackshark? Current mission and DCS release, the sim comes to a literal standstill and eventually throws an error crash. This is on VR. Taking one of the jets doesn’t seem to have this issue, and the regular Apache and Huey worked.
  15. Isn’t there dialogue about the landing gear not coming down? I thought it was a major part of the mission. (It’s been awhile since I flew it)
  16. Just press the multiple buttons at the same time. It’s automatic
  17. Jester can’t tell the difference between a dead but falling aircraft and a live one so he will continue call-outs until the aircraft crashes into the ground.
  18. I just recently switched from a Thrustmaster t16000 (constant wing snaps) to a Logitech g940 force feedback (no wing snaps). Now I don’t fly the F5uch since the wing snaps started but it definitely makes a difference for a couple reasons. 1. the ffb trim options in the special menu means much longer elevator axis so more ability to make smaller movements 2. You can “feel” the movement better 3. it’s harder with ffb to make those sudden movements that can cause wing snap And, 4. Possibly the recent update helped?
  19. I just want them to add the same feature the f4 has about stick forces so I can stop snapping my wings so easily.
  20. The only long term solution is to avoid updating DCS while in the middle of a campaign. Unfortunately it takes time for 3rd party developers to know what has changed, and then implement it. Not only that but their fixed then have to wait for ED to implement them usually. if you really can’t wait, just revert to the earlier DCS version
  21. It’s much better now than in the past (drivers). I run an amd 6950xt and I don’t notice any issues. Nvidia will always be a bit better performance but you have to decide if it’s worth the extra cost. The true competitor to the 7900 should be the 4090. The fact that you’re comparing to the 4080 is why the AMD would perform better. The AMD equivalent of the 4080 would be the 7800 series.
  22. I’m in a similar situation. I’ll still buy modules if they are special to me, but I’m really getting tired of parcelling out early access maps when really it’s just not done. I think I started down this road when I excitedly bought the F16 early access only to be disappointed that everything I clicked on seemed to be “in development” and half the weapons weren’t included. It’s only gotten worse since then and the money issue means that 3rd party devs are not the stable source of of new modules thought they were after the Hawk debacle.
  23. Being an emergency only hook, is it supposed to retract? I don’t think it has the hydraulics to do that.
  24. There is a setting in the special options to adjust it for your hardware.
  25. As title. Wondering if anyone has managed to get it working in VR (quest3) and if so if it’s worth it? I can’t stand the ghosting and have all frame generation off currently but this supposedly is better.
