  1. The problem is, practicing in single player in no way trains you for how it is in multiplayer. The first and biggest thing to learn in multiplayer is how to avoid missiles, and where to fly. Most multiplayer servers are gonna be full of people who just takeoff, fly towards the enemy, launch missiles, and die. There’s no other defense against that short of staying out of the way, and occasionally surprising someone by hiding in the mountains. If you can’t dodge their missiles then you can’t build up the other skills needed to actually get good. I know, I’m often there myself. Takeoff, launch missiles, die, quit in frustration. Try and watch what the YouTube’s do to maintain situational awareness and dodge missiles.
  2. Because it knows how fast it isn’t going!
  3. I mean, imagine if they had this kinda computing power for the “moon landings”. Would have looked way cooler! None of that stupid bouncing around stuff trying to make it look real. /s
  4. That’s depressing. Maybe we can get memory express to start carrying some higher end controllers.
  5. Just saw that you updated it! My wife is gonna hate you tonight.
  6. You can try and lock it at 40FPS but leave ASW or reprojection off. Sometimes the reprojection can cause more issues than it solves, but locking it at 40 might even out the spikes.
  7. No, I doubt that a bottleneck is the issue with those specs.
  8. Haven’t seen anybody ask yet but what’s your cpu? You might be bottlenecked by it or your ram.
  9. Did you try to limit supply in the warehousing for the airports?
  10. I would say that’s a pretty subjective observation. I have no problems running DCS in VR (rift s) with a vega64 (equivalent to Gtx1080). You just have to have the proper expectation of graphics and frame rate. 40 fps is perfectly flyable
  11. Ah. It made it look like if you died after takeoff (ie without landing) that you lost 1 point maybe a clearer way to say it would be: each kill worth 1pt oh wait! I see what you mean. Your team loses a point for each aircraft you lose. I thought there would be a gain to the team who brought down the aircraft. My mistake
  12. Maybe I missed it, but what are the A-A objectives and scoring? Only see the A-G
  13. I really wanna enjoy this as a single player type campaign, but I'm having a hard time progressing because of the way it doesn't track individual ground unit kills. Every time I try to play I have to go SAM hunting for an hour before I can even think about trying to get a helo in to capture a zone. Unfortunately by the time the SAMs are down I'm generally out of time (in my life) to continue, then when I come back of course all the SAMs are back up, so it's a repeat of the situation all over again. Is there anyway to create persistence similar to the Liberation campaigns that tracks individual units? Other than that I think its a pretty great mission, I just wish I could get beyond the first couple enemies without having to essentially start all over again each time.
  14. I couldn’t. Even when I tried to rebind the keys to something different. The only free-look I could do before was the airport free-look, or after I’d been killed and it went to exterior view.
  15. Haven’t tried it yet, but previously the F11 free cam didn’t work in VR. I’m assuming now it does.
  16. How about “Snort” as a tribute to Snodgrass. Obviously he was a pilot but who cares.
  17. Don’t forget that bridge they tried to bring down with hellfires.
  18. I think people really don’t understand how different developing for DCS is from msfs. It’s not like you can just port over the code- it’s a completely different thing. Look at how many developers thought they could get into the game because they made a plane for fsx.
  19. I think it’s also used as a balancing tool. If you can eject from an aircraft and respawn back into the enemies territory too quickly, then it could allow people to overwhelm the enemy despite not having an advantage otherwise. load up that av8b, launch a/g weapons, eject and repeat and suddenly a task which should take hours and teamwork to win a mission is done by 1 guy in an hour.
  20. I was having this issue and it turned out to be a conflict with the DICE mod. Removed the mod and it worked properly again.
  21. Beware DICE and VAICOM don’t work at together. Creates issues in VAICOM
  22. You can do it outside the game via a mod that changes the lua file. Just make sure you enable it after each update.
  23. A simple work around is to use a program like “joystick gremlin” to create virtual button pushes with each axis. I do that for the rudder axis on my TFCS throttle to bind it to the VR zoom functions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’m gonna make an assumption here that the difference between Petrovich and George is the accent they speak with. (At least in the early stages) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
