  1. I think the real point is using the DCS engine for all kinds of aircraft. Scenarios that get flown don't always have to have a military theme and with EDGE and hopefully some larger landscapes it only expands what we can achieve using this system. We could then use DCS for any kind of scenario instead of loading FSX or XPlane to get your civi aviation fix. Whats more you could mix up it up with civi and military types and have all the explosions, bombs and rockets with AFM's going on something which no sim does well at the moment.
  2. I've been really enjoying the mission and that it plays differently each time. I have also noticed the enemy troops being close to the friendlies as mentioned. In one instance they were reported as being 0 meters away and when I approached the marker lo and behold I took heavy small arms fire from enemy right under the smoke. I can imagine a position that is overrun if help was too slow in coming but then there wouldn't be anyone left to pop the smoke. It appeared there was still troops shooting it out at point blank range. I was going to engage myself with guns but then stopped as I figured there were probably friendlies merged with the enemy troops. I would also like to see the marker smoke at ground level as already mentioned as well. Look forward to seeing how you develop this as it really is a great concept and it plays well. Great mission Cheers!!

    How real?

If and I say IF you get the engines started, we all know that the noise will attract every Zombie in the area to you very quickly. Your brains will be Zombie food long before the engine spools up to speed and you have a chance at pulling on that collective. ;)
  4. Is it a real aircraft your reproducing (got a pic?) or is it fictional?
  5. Gee I'm getting old. Couldn't find it before but there it is in Collective Stick assignments. Doh! Thanks for that.
  6. Will the searchlight control on the collective eventually be activated. I assume this gives the pilot control over where the searchlight is pointing using the collective hat switch?
  7. To test the methods Forum URL Alt Forum [/img] Direct http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/5056/screen130321212649.jpg Doh! There we go first method worked for once. Thanks.
  8. Thanks Shadow Step I understand that method as I do exactly that in numerous other forums its just that that doesn't appear to work here in the ED forums which is why I posted.
  9. I can't find an answer in any thread so far so I'll just ask this noob question. Sometime screenshots are posted as thumbnails and sometimes the images are seen as resized versions of the original in the post. I know the thumbnail version is by using the attachments method which I have used a number of times but how do you post a shot directly in the thread? The usual .[/img]... method shows nothing when attempting a preview. So how is this achieved? I have images in Photobucket and Image Shack etc but the different forum embedding options don't seem to work in the ED forum?
  10. In regards to the Apocalypse Now reference, once we have EDGE and someone makes a SE Asia map with coastal villages like that classic scene from the movie no doubt map makers and mission builders will recreate that village down to the last bamboo pole. A few years away yet but you just know it WILL happen. Hell there will be whole Apocalypse Now campaigns with themes like "find the patrol boat and recover the stolen surfboard" etc. The future looks like a lot of fun.
  11. Some of that info is in the A10C manual supplements section as well.
  12. Recently did this myself and my advise is to keep it simple. Just clean install on the new PC from a new download. Trying to take shortcuts can usually end with you chasing problems that defeats the whole point of the quick copy across to save time. You need to install so it goes into the registry anyway.
  13. The cost and value for money for a module pops up regularly on this forum and I am always taken by suprise by what some members regard as value for money. We happily spend $50 and more going out to see a movie and a cheap meal for a few hours. Get alchohol involved and the cost goes way up! Once spent however that's it, all you have is the memories of a good night out. People happily spend a ton of money on a good night out yet are as tight as when it comes to their passion and hobby where they will spend countless hours and expect constant improvements, regularly, for nothing! On top of that they want additional detailed DCS modules for as little as $10 to $15?! Unbelievable!
  14. From campaign mission 1 and having some fun with bridges.
  15. Also try holding the front wheel up of the ground till the aircraft slows down a lot more then put it down gently. You can still correct with rudder just be gentle.
  16. I have the Black Shark 2 module installed ok (all available modules actually), and in the Module Manager you can see your key number for each one. However, next to DCS:Black Shark "No Key" appears in the Module Manager key field for what is a valid and fully working install of Black Shark 2. I also note that in the tab of available add-ons Black Shark 2 is listed yet it is already installed. I purchased the Black Shark 2 upgrade option way back when it came out so maybe the Module Manager problem suggests that some part of the program doesn't recognize the upgrade version and as such my key isn't visible and it (the Module Manager) also suggests I am yet to purchase the Black Shark 2 module "Add-On". No an issue as such as the install works but still something valid to report as this isn't correct and needs a fix at some point. Do others who purchased the upgrade version have no key number visible for DCS:Black Shark?
  17. When I recently purchase the Huey the banter in forums was to install using the module manager. There was no install button in the module manager just the buy button on the right. I then downloaded the install from DCS site which was the previous patch version. When I attempted to install this version up popped a message saying that it was incompatible with the current install and couldn't proceed. However what it must have done was update the registry in trying to install it because I then went into DCS Module Manager and the install button was now available. I clicked it and it then downloaded it again from there and it all went well. Not a solid install procedure I must say.
  18. Is there a list anywhere of what the specific sound issues are and what is actually being fixed by this tweak?
  19. I like the mission selection screens. No more searching back and forth through directories. Big improvement!

Sadly, constructive feedback seems to be incredibly difficult for some people.
  21. Not that I'm doubting you guys, but how the hell did you "notice" this and come to the conclusion that they are slowing down?
  22. How so? You can plot your own flights now, you also have civ aircraft in the settings although I don't think having active civilian flights close to an active warzone is realistic. Do you mean you want all that automated?
  23. As far as original post is concerned I completely disagree with the crowd funding. IMO, that system is and should be to help new starters get a helping hand with a new business or concept, not for established businesses to coax additional funding from established customer bases. If you want to give the company more of your money, buy another license or 10 or more. Become a major shareholder or investor. If you under the impression that throwing money at ED will make a specific new favorite aircraft model be available sooner is just more speculation and assumption on how the internal business operation at ED functions and what goes into creating a new DCS level aircraft or indeed what factors influence the speed at which these are produced.
