  1. The real thing doesn't have a wheel brake axis so I doubt the sim will get one. Assigning a button on the cyclic I think is the more realistic thing to do.
  2. Smooth as silk for me but I do have a pretty up to date system which helps.
  3. Good luck to those who get the discount with Steam. I'm happy with what I've paid to date so no tears here if I see a recently purchased module discounted down. I don't like the idea of mixed Steam and DCS sourced installs anyway.
  4. Maneuver flaps position? You mean just the first flaps down position right? There is only flaps down, up and landing position so if you mean when do you use any flaps during flight other than landing? Well I have used them sometimes when caught too low and too slow and too heavy to do much about it but flaps down and full throttle can save your arse from that mistake and once back up to speed you must remember to raise them to prevent damage to the system. If you want to operate on the slow side within flap limits you could use them to give you more time to line up a target on your inbound approach but just be careful to remember they are down as you'll no doubt go full throttle and turn to exit the danger area and again you can easily exceed safe flap speed limit and cause damage. I prefer to use the speed break instead and have the throttle higher in anticipation when making an attack run. Cheers.
  5. I was flying the SU25T in campaign and after making calls to ATC and ground crews the text on the left wouldn't clear. I thought that this usually disappeared after a minute or 2 but it stayed stuck on the screen. It wasn't until requesting a landing or taxi that caused an ATC response that it would clear. Is this normal? The text just stays up and won't clear and annoying when filling the left side of the screen in all views.
  6. I've gone the opposite way with dead zones and curves. I modified my CH fighterstick to remove every last bit of free movement (shims in the resistor posts) to make it as sensitive as possible. I want the slightest stick movement to produce results in the aircraft regardless what type it is. In helicopters I find this even more important. Never set a curve or deadzone and never will. Always linear for me and to be honest I think that curves and deadzones just sets up a pilot to be chasing their tail to maintain control with larger stick movements.
  7. No, not yet. Far too many things to complete and polish to create a fully functioning battlefield before adding ships to the situation. I wouldn't want a whole lot of different new objects in DCS and yet not one being finished to a point where it all works properly as a whole, all just "almost there" because too many resources diverted to create too many new additions.
  8. DCS: Crop Duster That is Wags new Avatar pic isn't it?
  9. Track played fine for me too. Appears to match youtube version exactly. Using current auto update version.
  10. I can't see how it would be advantageous to ED in any way. Why create a different product with all its own costs and marketing requirements and separate support etc. when its the same product operating on the same system. Surely its just grossly inefficient from a business point of view. The only time a civilian aircraft integrates into a DCS combat multiplayer server is when the mission designer puts those aircraft in there and gives them a purpose. At that point the civi aircraft integrate perfectly as that is what the mission designer intended. If they're not wanted there they won't be. That argument has popped up a few times in this thread and I can't see why the combat focused individuals feel threatened by civilian aircraft joining the family or aircraft from other periods for that matter. It is just expanding the capabilities of what can be done with the DCS system. With EDGE and new maps we'll have choices to do it all or just stick with the small niche that your interested in. The name DCS doesn't have be thought of continually as a "combat" simulator. Some people seem to be stuck on that. I hope to see DCS to be thought of in future as a great system that can be used to model any aircraft or ground vehicle for that matter, in any period.
  11. Try this thread I found using search. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99822&highlight=Installing+A10C+Steam
  12. I find that the TV system on full zoom can find targets quite well but as mentioned do that from a safe distance and break off and do it again if you don't spot them. Nothing will help spot a Manpad guy placed around towns and cities though. Just fly above 3000 if you know they're about and pop countermeasures, make sure your IR jamming is on too. It does make a difference against manpads.
  13. I've had to open up my CH pedals numerous times for spiking problems overs the years. Returned them for a warranty fix once early on to that QLD office but the shipping cost a lot and a couple of those makes it uneconomical to get it fixed under warranty anyway. I am quite familiar with the internals nowadays and have replaced a harness from one of the pedals with new wiring which fixed a very bad problem at the time. Always watch that you get the wiring back into its small slots to hold it in place when reassembling as it can easily come out and then be run over and crushed and pulled on by pedal movement. Soldering the connections is a big improvement too. I found the pots themselves to be very good quality and I think would rarely, if ever be the root cause of a spiking issue. I found one caused me a problem some years back and that was because it had excessive grease inside. I cleaned it up a bit while leaving some grease in there and its been flawless ever since. If you've had them a while a opening up and a good clean is good anyway as a lot of crap can build up in there and clog up the running tracks. A nice clean gets them running smoothly again.
  14. That digital skin maybe fictional Crashmo but it sure looks like a very effective scheme thats for sure. Would like to see that in the Huey for sure. Those RAAF skins look great Aussieboy. Looking forward to the release.
  15. What! Still no quick video reproducing the start of Apocalypse Now with a bit of the Doors and The End? Some talented movie buff out there is working on that one surely!
  16. Thanks Smil, looking forward to it being added then. Can you create a profile for the Huey to get something that feels like your onboard?
  17. I am seriously looking at getting the iVibe system (TFS3) shortly and was wondering if any of the current iVibe owners here also have the Huey and how they find the iVibe responds to the shake and roll of the Huey in game?
  18. Nice landing! Did the rotor blades eject? I can't see them in shot there.
  19. Thanks for continued development Wolle. I've also been getting the crashes so its good to see the cause is being hunted down. Still enjoying this mission a lot. A little extra feedback and it has already been mentioned earlier in the thread. I'd like to see the pilots pop flares to get your attention rather than the smoke first up when you are getting close. The messages you get is that they have a visual on you but I'm usually at treetop level a couple of km's out and its unlikely they would see you that far out but they sure could hear you coming. Popping a flare or two to get your attention and once your really close then popping smoke to mark the LZ to me seems more realistic and would improve immersion. Just a happy customers feedback and look forward to the next revision. Cheers, 5
  20. Being unhappy with a sale price after paying considerably more not so long ago is getting old real quick. It happens in all markets with every kind of product you can imagine. The sale price difference in the instance of the DCS range's regular pricing is pitifully small in the big scheme of things. Imagine you just bought a house and the housing market collapses the next day, you invest heavily in the stock market only to see you share prices plummet, you buy a really expensive toaster and it goes on special a week later. It happens every day all over the world and is part of life. Deal with it. If it's really bugging you that bad, get a life!!
  21. I think you need to read Wags last post very carefully and reread the update. FC3 and the DCS Flaming Cliffs aircraft will be identical. How do you come to think that your missing out on something? You own Flaming Cliffs already right? Next update the A10A gets the AFM as part of 1.2.5 for FC3!
  22. To be more precise- Your install directory\\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\Doc\
  23. I look forward to it coming out. I wonder if it will be modeled to explode when flying into a storm and getting hit by lightning? Storms are something the F35 really doesn't want to be around apparently.
