  1. Do I have to drill holes? I would have thought this would come standard?
  2. The F5 is a great choice, easy layout in the cockpit, easy startup, simple weapon controls but still requires weapon practice.
  3. Has been removed since 2.1, not sure if it will come back.
  4. I thought this was weather related no?
  5. Without Lasso I would get a micro stutter when shooting down a KA-50 with the harrier A/A. With Lasso I don't so surely that is major positive for 4 core users?
  6. Brilliant, landing is such a fun thing to get the hang of, enjoy and welcome!
  7. Sorry to interrupt your epilogue of information but when using Project Lasso on my setup the performance is much smoother then without, especially when it comes to hitching, on a ten your old dump rig like yours I am not surprised it did nothing.
  8. I use Project Lasso and set it to single core, get a much smoother better performance at 4K, micro hitching when shooting down KA-50's is gone which is awesome. Setting it to CPU affinity tanks performance. Quick Tutorial: Load the software while in game, alt-tab to 'Active Applications in Lasso and right click on DCS and set the priorities and cores there, it then boots when you load Windows automatically and runs at those new settings, think I will purchase it to support the devs.
  9. Me too +1
  10. Unflipped mirrors, low res text on dials, slight micro hitching, cockpit lighting looks okay but not mind blowing sorry not buying into this module being nearly finished, the level I expected and the reason I waited before purchasing the module was higher, I thought these issues would have been resolved by now and yet you the developer are using laser scanned textures on the f14? Why have a higher quality for your next module and not this? And to be honest I am just being honest it's not like the module is bad it isn't, it could be way better though.
  11. No, not that I am aware of.
  12. Cobra 847, looking forward to the next patch sounds very promising, VRAM shouldn't be a reason to improving what is already a highly functional product. I know its awesome overall it just seems that the textures could be higher quality in the front of the cockpit, the sides of the cockpit look amazing in fairness. Keep up the good work i will watch the Tomcat closely, those screens for the tom cat texture resolution look higher then the Viggen, is it a case of one level of detail for the Tomcat and a lower level of texture quality for the Viggen?
  13. Agreed the module is unplayable, the lighting is so important.
  14. Agreed I like the grey overcast vibe from 1.5, miss it in this one.
  15. I paid for Blackshark, then I paid for the upgrade, that required Blackshark to be installed so to save the hassle I bought Blackshark 2, that's 3 purchased from me, I would like to see a visual overhaul and even after paying three times I would pay 20 bucks for a proper update to keep everyone happy.
  16. The harrier texture resolution is on another scale in comparison to the Viggen and I am not having a go at anyone. I bought it for 60.00 and some of the text textures are low res like the weapons selector for example. It stutters more than any other module too, little micro stutters on take off for example, the harrier in early access does not. It's not my graphic settings I play at 60fps high textures in 3k. Stop making excuses, the cockpit needs a complete overhaul and could potentially look way better and the lights look like bitmaps as opposed to actual lighting. I also want to say that yes the plane is feature complete and hats off to the devs for achieving such, it really is a great effort but the standard of polish is not and I won't be pre purchasing the Tomcat on that basis, until I see the devs polish this baby up properly to the level it currently has not reached. I am not just throwing money at the next module without polishing, at the end of the day I am the consumer, I know it's in alpha and i have bought lots of DCS products in alpha such as the harrier without complaint. It is annoying seeing such a feature rich module fall aesthetically when all I read about is the F14. I'm just saying, I just bought it and here is my point of view.
  17. So I purchased the Viggen last night and it looks very interesting however I won't be purchasing the F14 in advance and I am disappointed to say this but here is the reasons why: 1. The mirrors don't fold in and it doesn't look great at all to be honest, other modules have folding mirrors. 2. Some controls can't be programmed in the controls menu. 3. The graphics and cockpit textures, especially the maverick sight, don't look particularly well done. 4. Doesn't feel as smooth as other modules. Now in saying all of this, I am speaking from a consumer perspective, I just bought it at full price and although I love the radar and weapons (I did a ship strike last night) I am not sold on the quality of the visuals. For instance there is a green blob in the hud? What the hell is that? All the talk about the F14 which I was going to pre order and yet this module feels half finished from an aesthetics point of view. I am aware that Heatblur are updating the Viggen but you can't expect people to buy the Tomcat when you haven't even got the Viggen out of alpha a few years into alpha release. if the F14 is released in this state dont say I didn't warn ya.
  18. Cannot wait to buy this module and the fact that they are updating the Viggen means I'll buy that too, so there is money burning a hole in both pockets and my wallet if you include the hornet.
  19. Yeah this was the first module and an update would be most welcome, it's not fair on the old black shark not to have working cockpit lights!
  20. I can vouch for the Jet seat, it's worth the money for sure. I got mine at Christmas but only recently set it up properly and it's amazing, would miss it if I didn't have it, when you pull g's the vibration get's stronger which is a cool effect not to mention the cannons! That's where it shines! Love it and highly recommend it.
  21. DCS World contains 3 maps currently, the map that runs the best is Nevada but only because of the lack of trees in the desert. You will not get the same performance in Caucasus as you will in Nevada, not by a mile, you need a GPU that caters for all terrains, your CPU is out dated and your GPU is really old. The above poster who mentioned upgrading is correct, let it go man it's not doing the business anymore, there is only so much you can squeeze out of an old rig.
  22. It is clear with DS off the engine needs work however I am glad to have the update now so any more changes can be done incrementally as opposed to having two versions on the one system.
  23. I have the monster tech mount for centre joystick and it works and it is handy to have but it is uncomfortable because you are sitting up straight at all times while in flight. I just registered with Speedmaster and will be ordering the flight unit in March as a treat. It certainly looks like the ultimate solution for comfortability and ergonomic design, complimenting the warthog. I will drop money on it so I can finally have a proper comfortable sim rig.
  24. Sounds like an awful experience, hard luck fellow pilot.
  25. Will check this out tonight thank you
