  1. I found out. Each .ogg or .wav is an audio file and that audio file has a '.sdef' file which can be edited in notepad ++. The .sdef tell DCS how loud that audio file is going to be when triggered in game. The '.sdef' files have a 'gain' parameter, if you want louder switches or louder effects you need to go into each '.sdef' file and change the gain to ''gain = 6.00'' or whatever you feel is better. So you can you can customize your gear to be way louder when retracted or whatever sound you like, for me I edit the switches mainly. The .sdef files are under 'sound' (generic sounds for all aircraft). Aircrafts unique sound files like the hornet and the f5e have their .sdef in the 'mods' folder in order to seperate the generic and custom built sounds for each aircraft. The audio files are in two different places, either under 'sound' or under 'mods'. Same with the .sdef files that corollate to the audio files. So essentially .sdef are linked to .wav and gain in the .sdef files controls output of the sound in game.
  2. Status on new weather? I would say it’s unlikely we will see anything really different from what’s already there. Don’t get me wrong!! I’m all in it’s just DCS weather hasn’t evolved as much over the last 9 years so I’m not expecting a massive overhaul at this stage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Fundamentally and upgrade from the warthog l? It looks really big to be honest Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yes but is it still in beta? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Seriously? People complaining about a few bucks for wire integration into their favorite aircrafts, come on guys.
  6. Unfortunately not, the world slider controls the external sounds when in external view. In general I would like loud buttons in all the cockpits. I’m going off topic I was just thinking that experienced modders might have a solution.
  7. Excellent contribution, is there anyway to lower the in cockpit engine sounds so I can hear the switches? Many thanks. I dont want to change the mod I would like to be able to hear the switches clearly, any advice?
  8. I played all evening yesterday and no issues, ED rarely if ever have let me down in this regard.
  9. I would really appreciate a slider that controls the audio volume of the engines or a slider that separates cockpit sounds and engine sounds.
  10. Interesting post and contribution, so the DCS night vision goggles and the way they look is very accurate.
  11. Looking through the forums here and I've noticed you are constantly bemoaning the harrier, if your are not happy with its functionality surely you must accept you are part accountable for buying it, you didn't have to. You can be passionate and positive ;)
  12. I've been in this forum a few days now and I've noticed there's quite a few complainers, yikes.
  13. The module is much different than all other DCS modules, had a blast with it all weekend. Obviously an improved flight model will be extra nice to enjoy it that bit more. I like the way you have to fire missiles carefully and take into account they are fired from the left side of the frame, that the machine gun fires off the right side, all has to be taken into account when attacking. I like the neon blue and red cockpit lighting, the way the chopper changes balance when firing the guns, nice work. The radio is simple to use and the flares too, it's a really sweet module, not too complex at all but plenty there for beginners. The bullet holes in the wind shield is a nice effect and the way machine gun fire can knock here out of the sky, shes fragile. The light on the front that changes its angle is really well done too when coming home at sunset and landing on a ship. I would prefer a bit more weight in the physics but overall a refreshing change from the other modules. I'll definitely buy your next module.
  14. In helicopters these 'magic bush's' are very distracting, really should be increased.
  15. Hi all, How do I configure the AI to attack groups with machine guns in the L variant? I have them (my AI team mates) setup to attack groups, but they only use rockets, whats the assignment in the editor for machine guns? Cheers !!
  16. The idea of flying night missions and firing off rockets and machine guns really appeals to me. Please can we have an exception. Even an option in the special options tab would be fair.
  17. I bought Blackshark standalone, followed by the upgrade to 2, followed by the full version on sale. Regardless, I would prefer to pay for a quality upgrade from version 2 to 3, as I am sure allot of effort has gone into the new module. I have no idea why some posters are complaining; when they get the visual upgrade for free, the option to pay for new systems is just that, an option, as in, we all believed we were getting a cockpit upgrade let alone an exterior and systems upgrade. Its amazing news and its disappointing that users think they are entitled to new systems when in fact they are not.
  18. I spent alot of time getting to know the small refined details of the module today and it's very impressive. Is there a reason why only one variant has NVG? I don't want to mod the module, so I'm just wondering why can the pilot only wear NVG's in one variant? Is there a specific reason? Cheers

    Point Track

Clicking the button selects either PT or Area mode with a black line under the selection letting you know what mode you’ve selected. Anyway it’s easier to CCIP LOL

    Point Track

On the bottom left of the right mfd you can select area or point and after selecting point as soon as you slew the tpod it goes back to area????? So essentially point is not working or can someone correct me?

    Point Track

I select PT and when I slew on target it switches back to area track, is this a bug? Surely you select PT and it should stay selected?
  22. The hat clip is way better and way more comfortable.
  23. Have to say Meteor have delivered an absolutely killer soundtrack for not only the Tomcat but all modules, and I absolutely applaud the quality of the album, retro 90's with massive guitar lines and modern synth sounds. I have it on loop on Spotify and I was playing missions last night with the album on and it gives the sim a massive bump in terms of sound.
