Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
docfu replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Good question. I never realized this affected more than just the SU-25T... -
Thanks for this Devrim. Will be looking out for it in the future.

After getting the controller configuration problems sorted out I'm happy to say all of my VIKHR's have hit dead on! Rock and Roll ED! -

Nothing special. Intel i5 2600, Geforce 550TI, 16gb ram, SSD. No overclocking. -
BAD Memory leak in 1.2.8 ..... Dont update if...
docfu replied to OGREMAN's topic in Game Performance
After updating I started getting hard computer locks with 1.2.8. Never had a single problem with any version before this and I haven't changed anything except the DCS install. I can't find anything in the logs as to why the game is stalling. The screen freezes and the sound keeps looping indefinitely. I did a completely fresh install of 1.2.8 with no mods... -
Let me clarify my last post to ED: I would like to be able to make adjustments like this to the game without modifying the original installation files. Thank you, Jonathan

{down = iCommandPlaneFlapsOn, up = iCommandPlaneFlaps, name = 'Flaps Landing Position', category = 'Systems'}, {down = iCommandPlaneFlapsOff, up = iCommandPlaneFlaps, name = 'Flaps Up', category = 'Systems'}, Although really the SU-25T needs a command for Flaps Maneuver as well. But I can't seem to find one anywhere...

Is there any way to override control settings in the autoexec.cfg like there is options for graphics? Jonathan

Can you screenshot this and point an arrow to it?

One thing you might want to play with right now is the SweetFX shader and Pencil Sketch mode. It does some things with DCS that are incredibly cool to watch, even if just once, to know how far technology has come. One thing I think that stops us from going back to games, and a perfect example of this is the original Mario Brothers, is that once the game is felt 'understood' or 'learned' it either becomes tedious or unnecessary. Our obligation to society, as weird as this may sound, is to find out the true limits of what we are capable of, and what benefits will be obtained by pushing back those limits. Maybe even a better example of this is X or X2 /X3. When you start out it's all about staying alive and seeing what you can do, but once you've amassed a fleet of ships and are capable of destroying the entire universe, the game quickly loses interest. Still, Ultrabots was a blast to play through a second time. Truly a well done game., although short.

Kuki, man, I love you. That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Well the main idea, beyond the shadow of a doubt, is that overwriting a new graphics.lua from 1.2.8 with older data might make for some very big problems. A lot of the configation files and updates posted on the board don't come with version info but if those changes were posted in the auto exec cfg instead then it would be easier to keep track of changes. I don't like having to search through every line of the graphics.lua file to make sure I didn't botch up a new feature with old data everyte me dcs releases an update.
-
Sorry, let me rephrase that: So with this mods can now start banning people for posting edited graphics.lua files instead of properly posting the changes to the autoexec.cfg file instead?
-
So with this people could start posting edits/mods to the graphics.lua file instead of using JGSME or editing/messing up the original config files?

Trackir moving faster in DCS than trackir software
docfu replied to T0x1s's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I think things to check would be the hot hotkeys. Trackir has a precision mode with the f7 key. Also check to make sure the axis are using default curves in dcs world. -
One would win and the other would cry foul. And nothing would change.
-
The problem with default center is that it's the minimum zoom + maximum zoom divided by two. So, if your airplane has a zoom of 20-140, then center is 80, not 90 where you may want it to be. Setting the starting zoom point does nothing once your trackIR activates. The correct way to fix this would be to adjust your trackIR's zoom curves so that it's slightly above or below where it would normally be. You could also set a flat/dead zone so you don't zoom unless you move way forward or back...

Not only do I clear the field but I come home and clean the toilets. Going for employee of the month.
-
Were these updates due to the representation of the weapons being inaccurate? I still fly with the SU-25T but for right now making the field of engagement "clear" takes me 3-4 hours. (Just did SU-25T campaign B1.4, mission clock started at 1600 and ended at 2030) And my wingman cracks open a bottle of vodka and starts drinking the moment he gets back to base. So much for telling him to reload and get his drunken rear back out on the battlefield...

Different SU-25T SEAD Armaments / Recommended Targets List
docfu replied to docfu's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Mission 7.4 Missing OSA Tracks Here you go. I checked the mission editor and it doesn't look like there is anything to say "maybe this unit spawns at random". This has been bugging me for several years now, especially APO A 3.4 because every time I took a SEAD loadout the only OSA I needed it for wasn't there... Different SU-25T SEAD Armaments / Recommended Targets List
docfu replied to docfu's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Actually I have a completely related question on this matter: I just launched APO-A-7.4 about 3-4 times. Every time I launch with a SEAD loadout(Fantasmorgia and KH-58 ), the OSA doesn't spawn. Every time I don't, the OSA is there. Same thing goes if I arm my wingman with a SEAD load-out. Is this a game bug? Seems stupid to launch a mission with a SEAD load-out and then rearm right there on the runway to non-SEAD just to prevent an OSA from showing up. -
I knew it was stupid but I posted it anyway. I figure maybe people would get some kick out of it. Oddly, nobody here has ever heard of this either. We are starting to doubt the credentials of the person who was hosting the parenting class...

Different SU-25T SEAD Armaments / Recommended Targets List
docfu replied to docfu's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Totally, that just leaves one question unanswered: Does the enemy change their strategy if you mount a Phantasmorgia pod or is the pod interfering with my normal RWR? I am playing mission ATO 7.4 and with a normal load my RWR picks up enemy radar the second I take off from Sukhimi but if I reload and take a SEAD load-out instantly the skies are silent... (Thanks for the information from the German manual. I just checked and the above is not in the English manual currently installed on my system. Printing now.) -
Is there a list of which missiles to use for which targets? Information I am finding in Wikipedia doesn't appear to match how things work in the game. Obviously the KH-58 + ELINT pod is for long range SAMs and seems ineffective against anything smaller than an OSA or SA-8. However, it really feels like every time I put on a Phantasmorgia pod the enemy switches off their radar until I am right on top of them. Is this a side effect of the pod or is the weapons load out officer calling enemy EWR to let them know I am coming? What is the recommended way of taking down Strellas? VIKHRs and KH-25LMs usually put me in too close. Also, are the KH-58 and KH-25MPU useless without the Phantasmorgia pod?
