  1. Please don't post this stuff. I came this close to taking a hacksaw to my joystick not too long ago and I don't want to get the urge again....at least for a while.
  2. Yeah, I've slowly been reducing the curves I use a tiny % at a time so I don't notice it. I'm not sure whether it's just God having fun but it seems that when you put a curve on an axis it just so happens that the range you need the most control is just the point where the curve starts ramping up the sensitivity.
  3. Incorrect was the wrong word, sorry. It's just that.... ....doesn't really tell the whole story. If you reduce saturation you no longer have the 'whole range' available which is a pretty bad side-effect. He even said...
  4. +1 This is incorrect. Reducing saturation will reduce sensitivity but it also removes a portion of available control. If you set pitch saturation to 70% you'll only have 70% elevator authority available. For normal operations you might not notice anything amiss, but in certain circumstances, especially very-low-speed manoeuvring (stall-fighting etc) that missing 30% will kill you. You'll be flapping your elevators around in the dead air but they just won't 'bite'. It can also introduce effects that can be mistaken for bugs. If you reduce the rudder saturation on the Mig-15 to around 50% then it completely breaks the ground-steering. Curves keep 100% control authority but the price is the curve ramps up significantly as you approach the limits.
  5. double post
  6. Well, if DCS is correct the midday sky gets darker the closer you are to the equator. London - Winter - Noon - Latitude 51.5074° N Ground Level looking straight up (from my phone) Batumi - Noon - Summer - Latitude - 41.6168° N Ground Level looking straight up (gamma 1.9) You can even see the stars.
  7. Thanks for the info - I was tempted to pick up the G2 now and get the Kosmo grip later on; I didn't realise they would be incompatible.
  8. Is it not possible to buy Kosmosima + Gladiator II base combined?
  9. Try this one. https://www95.zippyshare.com/v/c0HO4X2O/file.html Put it in... C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-15bis\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-15bis ....and select it in the special options page.
  10. I often moan about cockpit reflections looking terrible but it's not because I'm being inconvenienced by them. I love the way light, dust, shadows, dirt, water all conspire to make visibility a dynamic variable. My complaint is that the 'baked on' reflection has outlived it's utility. Back in the late 90's/early 00's 'baked on' reflections weren't the liability they are now. That's because back then there wasn't any 6DOF head movement; our virtual head was stuck fast in the cockpit. But nowadays we can move our head around the cockpit and any illusion the 'reflections' once had has evaporated. What once appeared to the player as, say, the reflection of an ejection handle, now presents itself very obviously as a texture painted on the canopy.
  11. Thanks, LC - the trouble is it gets overwritten every patch. I know it can be easily modded but I thought this thread might nudge the devs into a permanent fix.
  12. That should over-heat nicely :)
  13. The altitude adjustment rotary The REVI distance rotary starts OK but then suddenly accelerates to the max
  14. These have been present since 2.5 debuted and I don't know whether they are bugs or just something we'll have to live with. But they are weird.... Terrain reflections are affected by objects; in this case the cockpit frame. The angle of the gap appears to mirror the angle of the cockpit frame which might be a clue as to why it's happening. It also happens with the Harrier's explosive strips. In a similar vein the waves are distorted by the aircraft. I blew the canopy for a clear look.
  15. Will the D-9 get the flood-lights upgrade? (or am I missing some controls?)
  16. +1 Same with maps. The increase in players will pay for itself. I'll go one further and suggest that if there is going to be a 'Flying Legends' pack of WW2 FC-level flyables then two (one Allied one Axis) should be free to play.
  17. Especially when the light hits it.
  18. The dark blue being reflected really is the actual colour of DCS's sky. It's waaaay to dark. Please register your dissatisfaction in this thread :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=227688 Maybe they'll fix it.
  19. Came up in another thread - the wings were painted/lacquered so it wouldn't blind the pilot.
  20. If you don't have RPM on an axis then trying to dial in specific RPM values using the current RPM+/- key commands is very frustrating. Trying to set the RPM to, say, 2700 often requires a lot of 'flicking' the control back and forwards. The new key commands could still be held down for large/rapid RPM adjustments exactly as it is now....and then use the 100+/- to fine tune.
  21. Update - it gyrates under power, too. In the video I was getting ready to land. Flaps down, gear down, Gyro sight on to show the motion better. You can see the controls indicator, I'm not moving stick or rudder.
  22. It's never done that before though....hence the video. Maybe I've been lucky.
  23. Right after take-off.
