  1. I think the request is really simple and straight forward and backed up by facts. Some of the things brought up (even on this page) to argue against it, sound like you are trying to discuss something entirely else. And I think we can all agree that the stuff you guys are trying to make this about, will go into Rule 1.7 territory. :D
  2. +1 This is a big MP cheat that can be used in all the more advanced (and bigger) campaigns that use vast areas of the map. Where hiding your presence until the time is right and using diversions are important to mission success.
  3. Damn I have been looking at this Monitor and the same in 24" version. This sounds very bad for that kind of money. Anyone know if the 24" version has the same problems? I was very close to buying the otherday, so thank you for saving me from that Simicro.
  4. Have you tried completely deleting the DCS folder in the saved games folder? It sounds like you carried over some kind of problem from the old install when you used your old control bindings, or atleast that is my best guess. On new installs I tend to simply dump the controls from the old install into the new in the user/saved games folder (even when going from 1.5 to 2.1, I know I shouldn't...) and it has caused problems for me before.
  5. About Slingloads: If it hasn't changed(atleast it was in Mi8), you don't need to hover over the crate or anything, it's an option. You can also land next to the and hook it up on the ground. Personally, Slingloads add a huge amount of enjoyment and immersion for me. If stabillity permits, I am all for it. Is there anything specific we can haggle ED about?
  6. Manual, my oldest friend and nemesis... We meet again...
  7. Hi there, on the Steam forums the question about Kneeboard Favorite shortcuts came up. If anyone doesn't know what those are, you can make 'bookmarks' on 1-10 different kneeboard pages and jump directly to or cycle between them. Those functions are all missing in MiG-21 Kneeboard controls. See screenshot from F-15C.
  8. Let me actually write on my Kneeboard! I don't need 'MS paint'-situation or anything, just text notes to myself. :P Love these ideas and probably not that much of work for ED since most functions are already in the sim, via mission editor, normal cockpit interaction code and of course current mission planner & kneeboard.
  9. Go one further ED. Don't add to userfiles, add them to NTTR! =) +1 to you Eight Ball, to take on a project like that.
  10. Amen! Some might think this is nitpicking but if you jump between modules a lot without getting very comfortable on one, stuff like this is jarring. Please ED & 3rd party devs, find common ground on this.
  11. So link it.
  12. Actually the new thing is not JSGME but OvGME. :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171956 The big upside is that you can set different folder structures up better than in JSGME. That way you can use one OvGME install to manage multiple DCS installs (1.5, NTTR & Beta builds side by side).
  13. Hey just updated 2.x to fly some BF, was really great. At first I was unsure if there was anything for me to do, but luckily we had a JTAC and I had great fun throwing GBU12's around. Small thing, -freq/lives command didn't work for me, or wouldn't show anything.
  14. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/ see registry fixes, sounds like that Also try activation without starting dcs in the relevant module folders under /bin.
  15. We have to wait on changes to the IC system from ED. Current situation is indeed highly displeasing.
  16. Yeah, sorry but this is wishful thinking far from reality that has been publicly known to all since 2014. http://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/0/540743757418142547/ So no, this is not coming back.
  17. Why parrot this up and down? People HAVE explained this time and time again, not the users concern. Steam users and the steam client are a thing. Deal with it and don't be passive aggressive about it. (Because it's pretty clear where this is going) I don't understand what you are trying to say. No idea about IL2 but FSX and XP11 have the same issues as DCS with Steam. FSX has a own version, it's called "FSX-STEAM" ... XP11 has standalone and Steam versions. (10 the same) edit: To clarify, like with DCS those keys are not interchangeable. My Xp11 standalone can't be activated on Steam, normal FSX version not on Steam etc.
  18. omg sorry, can't back pedal here fast enough! :P I haven't looked at 2.x yet and apologise if we already have these in, I assumed from the tone of the discussion they werent. Good to know about the magnetic variation, thanks. Your work and input here is very much appreciated! :)
  19. I really, REALLY don't understand why you are getting all weird about this. Why the digg about combat sim? Is this why you are argueing this? Don't want your pure combat sim tainted? We all here are aviation fans. The distinction between combat and civil sim is yours, and countless people like me, who love flying, don't care at all about that. I love general aviation, I fly airliners in other sims, I study how RL aviation works for VATSIM etc. Now again, YES, I want to have all (reasonable) features in DCS that work IRL. This includes precision approaches and a valid navdata cycle (DOESN'T HAVE TO BE CURRENT, JUST AUTHENTIC!) so we can use real approaches. And no, nobody HAS to do anything, this is a sandbox sim, stop argueing nuances that don't affect you at all. Don't want Navdata, don't use it. Don't want airspaces, don't use it. DON'T WANT GNS 430 FEATURES? DON'T USE IT! =) FFS
  20. Yeah there was a lot of 'realism-durr' when this was announced and while I don't 100% agree, if the Mission creator want's to restrict something (historical or otherwise) it should be possible for him. Becomes a point for balancing in MP aswell. Once we have an option for the ME there is no conflict only wrong settings. :)
  21. Wait wait wait, I think you misunderstood him Skate or I am. If you have your modules still activated on your old computer you will need to deactivate them on the old computer if you don't want to lose a activation. Once you have installed DCS (standalone) on your new computer Starforce will need to activate them again for the (new) hardware.
  22. Careful this is going to be closed. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=187395 To make it short, I agree with OP, this is an issue and Steam users are the first to get hit. Fact is the current solution is no solution at all for the future and will (and does) cause a lot of trouble and grief for customers.
  23. Yeah they said that, but afaik it's actually gotten a little more aggressive. There are generally ways to make cockpit mods IC compatible, but I honestly don't know how. Maybe Devrim, Gospadin & co can drop a hint? :)
  24. Yeah not reading that, but to throw a wrench in your theory, can't be because deactivations are limited also. As I said, what would stop some friends to share their keys with each other? Guys this is DRM... Works as intended, stopping you from sharing keys / using it on multiple machines. :)
  25. Hi there, how about adding startup/shutdown and emergency procedures? Love the mod.
