  1. The Skhval is not chasing the exhaust smoke it is just losing lock and remaining in last known position. Target size in top left is at 60, you'll never achieve lock on an aircraft with this size, you should be setting it at between 16 and 25 for fighters any other setting will not lock. I've attached 2 tracks to show how the method of instant lock makes it so much easier, nothing harder than trying to acquire locks while in a dogfight albeit the F15 didn't want to play too much, stupid AI, though the A10 fight was fun but we called it off. Vikhr vs F15.trk Vikhr vs A10.trk
  2. Why don't you put a track up so we can see your issue. As for method whatever you feel comfortable with but insta-locking a chopper first is better if you want to shoot first, maybe practice a bit.
  3. I am on latest OB. If i'm doing this i'll never lock the ground, i'll put the box on the target and lock no problem, any aircraft. Locking the ground is your problem because after unlocking the ground you need to wait seconds for shkval to reset itself or it will only see the ground again when you relock.
  4. Of course, what do you think i'm doing here. You need to unlock the ground and wait a couple before locking the aircraft or else you will just keep locking the ground. Using it as A2A just get the target in the large box and acquisition comes easy either against the air or ground as background. It is really only effective on unsuspecting targets and not something you do on an aware bandit head on. A vikhr will take down any aircraft and the Ka50 is an even better platform to do this. In the images I achieved the first from ground lock to aircraft lock by waiting after unlocking ground and the 2nd one and the F/A-18 lock I acquired from the sky.
  5. You need to set target size to 20 to lock any aircraft up. Maximum range is 10km after that your lock will not be maintained, it has always been this way.
  6. Even though Belsimtek state in the manual, AN/APG-63(v)1, as far as I can gather it doesn't have the cockpit to match that upgrade. The cockpit in DCS dates back to the -1 manual updated in 86. There are no APG-63(v)1 controls on the left panel and no FDL controls on the left and right panel. https://www.f15sim.com/images/left_console_new.jpg
  7. I'm asking why implement a gamey system of dice rolls on chaff and notching, punish all missiles with this system bar the AIM120 series. What actual facts are available that make this realistic? Other than infiltrating Raytheon and the DoD this info is pure mythology. Surely you can pm me these questions rather than post a debate in English in a Russian language thread.
  8. The question is that a radar guided missile should not be immune to notching or chaff. Being a non fc3 player the superior intellect you possess surely allows you to read a thread correctly.
  9. If they made AIM120B in 1994 to this perfection I don't see a need for a AIM120C3 or beyond. Why did the dod feel the need to try and give ECCM upgrades to the 5th variant 120C5 when already so perfect with 2nd variant, then go on and try to improve ECCM resistance again with the C6. With this level of perfection achieved in 1994 why do we see so many failures elsewhere?
  10. Yet here we have a test pilot and squadron commander with the knowledge, background and experience telling us they will break if you pull full back stick at 500mph. Enter DCS, full back stick at over 600 will full payload and 3 bags equals 13-14G. In comparison a Flanker is limited to 7G at those weights and at that speed if you override the stick deflection and pull 10G you will end up as a fireball.
  11. RDM-1 and RDM-2 are the R-73M1 and R-73M2. The clue is in the name. MK-80M is a Mayak-80M, you think technology doesn't get upgraded? If you think Russian seeker technology is stuck in the 80s then carry on. I have no idea what you are rambling on about. How is any of that my concern?
  12. I've fixed the above for you. If you checkout the Ukranian defence review you'll see that the R27T and R27ET now use the MK-80M seeker as used on the R-73M.

 Can you elaborate? Lunatic98 F.e. I want to load (in all pylons) just AMRAAMs. I can't. You criticise DCS because of early access and payloads not meeting your requirements by wanting AMRAAMs on an A-10; which is an unrealistic request. Just because you can do it in another sim/game doesn't make it correct. Do you realise that in the real World to fire an AMRAAM requires at least IFF which the A-10 not having a radar doesn't even have an interrogator, so visual acquisition would be required where an AIM-9 would be the weapon of choice. Putting an AMRAAM on an A-10 is laughable, so by mocking DCS because of this you've unfortunately reaped what you've sown. You also want nuclear bombs on an A-10 because of you're misunderstanding of what weapon uses Depleted Uranium, the armour piercing rounds in the Gun. If you wanted a more civil discussion with friendly responses maybe you shouldn't have come here with the belief that you already know the answers before starting this thread. Carrying on the facade with cryptic responses is just making it worse. The worrying thing for me is that a user on a Falcon sim forum under the same name is banned over there and has an 9 year old history of slating ED.

No pity, DCS caters for all. :hehe: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1253266&postcount=16
  16. Don't fly head on to F-14 nails. Visually acquire launches and react according, just be warned the missile will always come for you because of persistent INS bug. Missiles are readily chaffed and notched as opposed to 120C. Give him something to work with, 120C has good range now up high. The more you unsettle him the more you reduce his SA.
  17. The fans of this must be those fighters that boom n zoom when i'm flying a 25T or A10, I duly oblige by sticking an R73 or AIM9 up their tail and I especially thank them for putting the sun behind us. Times change.
  18. Another tip, if you're trying to lock up with helmet mode or vertical mode switch your radar off. Radar takes priority over eos so max range to lock will be hard set at 10km by the radar, with eos alone you can usually get a lock at greater range. When in helmet mode you can tell when radar is on with the иел indication at the bottom centre of the hud.
  19. Predicted target distance is used in combination with elevation. It is 10 by default at the bottom of the hud. It can have a dramatic effect on the angle of elevation. When at 10 with +1 elevation your radar centralises +1000m at 10km range. If you set predicted at 40km with +1 elevation it would centralise +1000m at 40km range which would be a shallower elevation. Its use is for GCI calls to focus the radar on where the target is expected, eg. Bandit range 40km @12000m when you're at 3000m would be predicted set to 40km with +9 elevation.
  20. Having default 59% fuel Su27 against an excellent AI F-15 is pretty easy, just keep your energy up and use lag pursuit to stay at his six then pull your nose on and gun him when he is high and slow. You want to see how it really flies find a player who really knows how to use an F-15, it is 10 times harder a whole different World.
  21. The professional flight models are all built with the same principle and structure, to say FC flight models are inferior to full fidelity modules when the FM is of the same structure and integrity and created by the same developer is ridiculous. You've created a myth in your head around FC aircraft that because the system modeling is not fully clickable then everything about FC is arcade. The Eagle and Su27 have PFM created by ED whose PFM approval criteria is tighter than what is expected from the EFM (External Flight Model) from 3rd party developers. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801
