  1. Don't worry you're not alone, YT is full of DCS bs these days. :D
  2. Thanks for another fantastic event again, though I had a stonking headache straight after which i'm blaming the Migs aircon. I was surprised by the amount of GAR8 kills yesterday, I counted at least 5, Yaga and Tek ate one each.
  3. Multiplayer i can hardly be bothered to discuss it anymore. Its been going on since DCS started, the amount of fiddling server admins have to do to make the most basic of missions stable is still needing to be done today. Missions created with days and months of work broken by updates, the list is too exhaustive and I care for it not much anymore. Yes the mp community feels it has been ignored for far too long.
  4. Not that I support discord but being on discord does not mean you have to speak or listen for that matter. It is just a way of administrating players, i don't see how this effects your issue with speaking English.
  5. I'm sorry for the opening was a bit uncalled for. It irks me people call FC radar arcade yet operate the Mirage and BMS radar with similar efficiency and controls. Now along comes delayed locks and drop locks from pulling g and all of a sudden FC is arcade but other radar simulations get a free because muh clicky pits.
  6. What are you babbling about, the Mirage has the most arcade instant lock in DCS. Seems the Hornet wip radar issues gives a pitiful excuse for peeps to rag on FC.
  7. "FC3 owners will get a discount on FC4" There are two options here 1. FC3 gets updated to FC4 and you have to buy it to stay up to date because FC3 gets phased out as did FC2 and FC1 as well as BS1. 2. FC3 and FC4 sit side by side in the module list and ED update both seperately. Which makes the most sense to you? It is pretty obvious adding extra content to FC gives ED the excuse to double up their FC3 sales by forcing the update on the customer or their FC becomes redundant. It's happened every time, why is this time going to be any different.
  8. I guess it never occurred to ED that people buy FC not because of the lower fidelity but to be able to fly the aircraft and their favourite aircraft that aren't available as full fidelity. The majority of people that buy this product will be ones that are forced to just to keep up to date.
  9. A: FC4 with 4 more aircraft That is the next iteration of FC which obviously means an update not a seperate module. I think it is pretty obvious what the plan is.
  10. Because every other iteration of Flaming cliffs has required purchasing if you wanted to carry on with up to date multiplayer. With FC2 we got a new map that became free when DCS World came out, with FC3 we had some great extra goodies. Now with FC4 if that becomes a necessity to carry on in mp that means many that invested a shed load of money in DCS will have to pay for and get zero benefit from downgraded versions of modules they already own.
  11. There is no range setting in EOS mode and the manual doesn't state that it does for EOS either. The radar HUD display reads in azimuth and range (top down) where as the EOS HUD display reads in azimuth and elevation (face on, not range). So what you're seeing in the HUD with EOS is not a top down view like the radar but a face on view of any heat signatures picked up, it doesn't need a range setting.
  12. Wow that is a disappointing shock, I hope they don't pull a fast one here and expect us to buy these FC add ons we already have as full fidelity just so as we can carry on with FC in multiplayer. Now that would be a dreadful kick in the teeth.
  13. Because modern Russian full fidelity aircraft are not going to be a thing DCS needs Su27SM, MiG31, MiG29K, Su24. At least, maybe Su34, Su35, Su30 and Su25SM.
  14. ED had an A-10A in FC yet they went on to make a full fidelity A-10C, they'd be mad to not be considering the F-16 in both FC and full, i'm sure they will. Think it through about the benefits to ED and what they'd get from this rather than just yourself and how you can look down on those that prefer it. You can't please all the people all the time.
  15. +1 The fundementals of a modern air combat sim, actually making tactics champion over gaming the figures. Is DCS BVR ever going to be more about simulation and less about gaming?
  16. In the dogfight server it is hard to hide and not really the point of the server. Sneaking around in there teaches you nothing other than how to use your team mates as bait, the value of df server is winning 1v1s while maintaining SA against more bandits. Sure it is easier to rack up the kills by being stealthy but you'd be kidding yourself by thinking that was making you a better dogfighter. Everyone in there is expecting the head on shots so you should too, you say you flare well flare more, much more, and also cut your throttle to improve your chances of not being hit. But then be ready to win the merge.
  17. Fantastic server Drex, this is probably the most impressive creation since Blue flag was introduced, pretty much covers everything possible with combat in DCS in one package. Add to this not only mission creation but server optimisations as well. Looking forward to see how far you take this in the future. IMO ED need to take notice and sign you up. Plus we need to get more guys flying on this server. Congratulations on taking mp DCS to the next level.
  18. Doppler notch takes advantage of the velocity gate set in pd radars such as the n001 and apg-63 to filter out clutter. Inside this closure speed pd radars reject contacts as has been described in the Gulf when an Iraqi Mig25 performed a doppler notch against F-15s resulting in them losing track. This is modeled in DCS. With regards to being able to lock onto only a lead this is probably down to cell resolution in non aesa radars which limits singling out close formations from long range, this is not modeled in DCS so far.
  19. Wrong thread buddy, you might want to put this in Screenshots and videos https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=88 or Chit chat https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=66
  20. Katmandu if I use your Ka50 idea why not just auto start, then all you need to do is master arm on, laser on, shkval on, select weapon, fiddle with shkval parameters, designate and shoot, pretty much SU25T.
  21. With regards to air to air radars, where applicable they all suffer from range vs power, doppler notch, terrain, radar altitude, contact altitude, ecm, prf effects, elevation, azimuth etc. all to varying degrees based on the radar type. The weather and terrain effects that you see in the MiG21 are because of the generation of radar, modern radars will filter this out on their VDU. There are no special features within the radars in DCS aircraft that would make an F-15 radar VDU display a contact any differently by effects from a contact having differing aspects and situations the radar carrier is at, this of course with the exception of maybe memory tracks and other extra features that could only improve the radar. It's pretty clear that they all work to the same structure, how it is displayed is obviously going to be different based on which aircraft you're modelling.
