  1. I've tested this in single player against AI F14 firing Phoenix. The Russian SPO, F15, A10A and F14 rwr gave no warning when AI launched and no warning for Phoenix active range. On the other hand F-16, F18, JF, M2K, Viggen, A10C, AV8 all got a warning as soon as the AI launched a Phoenix, like SARH. Missile never goes active. Seems like it is an FC3 and Tomcat thing that is broken.
  2. The AI doesn't rapidly switch its jammer on and off. What it does is a feature in the AI code and something that can be set in the ME for any AI aircraft carrying a jammer by the 'activate when locked' option, when locked it activates jammer, when the jammer is locked it deactivates jammer. Ironically almost like a Self Protect Jammer would actually behave.
  3. It is the missile that is bugged not the ecm. I didn't hear any complaints when Active missiles had overmodeled midcourse guidance, but undemodeled missiles suddenly becomes everyone elses problem. Concentrate on what needs fixing rather than trying to break more DCS to fix your trip. Having purposely broken ecm for FC3 while new modules get unhindered ecm is a big problem as well. To add, F14 has always blinked its jammers.
  4. I think the real one would be programmed to instantly respond to emissions.
  5. Two issues here that are subjected to DCS limitations. 1. ARH missiles in DCS have never had autonomous guidance to last known point other than times with magic INS. 2. ARH missiles in DCS have no time for scan rate so when in acquisition range they instantly acquire a target no matter its location in the scan cone, basically a full instant sweep and lock of its entire gimbals equalling instant lock. The issue being if the missile had guidance to last known position then to adopt these tactics of launching from 40nm and immediately turning radar off would be over modelled because if the target makes evasive manoeuvres the missile will still find the target because of the ARH instant scan/lock, where in reality it would have to scan the airspace to find the manoeuvred target.

  7. To add to the absurdity of it all, so called full fidelity aircraft can fire active missiles from 50nm away, roll inverted, turn cold and the missile will still track to target by the kind of nonsense magic that was brought up nearly 2 years ago.
  8. I'm only reading this on my phone but i'm sure your calculations are incorrect. I think you may have forgotten to double up the altitude after working out the trig. For example you have 8300ft @25nm 4 bar scan of 6.3 degrees, this would be tan 3.15deg x 25nmi = 1.375nmi x 6076ft = 8359ft but that is only half the scan area (3.15deg) so multiply by 2 gives +/- 8359ft (16,718ft). Quite a big difference.
  9. He might as well say L39 and F5 are more popular choices, much more chance to fool someone with this statement
  10. You can't trust tacview, there was a 2nd disintegration of the Eagle shortly after the Mirage was splashed. Dead F-15 could well have been maintaining lock.
  11. It is broken on all RWRs, emitter strength from most of the more recent modules is in need of attention. JF17 being the worst offender.
  12. Your fears have already been layed to bed as the answer has already been posted by ED only a few posts ago, best use that as reference instead of tin hat conspiracy drama created elsewhere.
  13. It has been put to ED numerous times to sort the dice roll chaff nonsense out. Obviously no easy solution, until that point why should the AMRAAM be the exception to this gamey feature and all other missiles suffer its nonsense.
  14. You can sat that about any missile, why is the AMRAAM always the exception like a specal child that needs attention. Yes probably the best MRM in the World, funny thing, it is in DCS World too. As Falcon says you're just another new comer saying the same stuff everybody knew 15 years ago, come with some facts and make a bug report and stop with the supposed video revelations I don't possess enough cookies.
  15. As opposed to people complaining it is not effective enough, same vibe, alternate complaint. I'm in the opposite end of the spectrum to you as I found it 'way too easy to kill' Russian aircraft in the previous patch, now it is downgraded to just 'easy to kill'.
  16. So previous AMRAAM gets chaffed and latest AMRAAM gets chaffed, so no change. Either that or these tracks are from 2016 like your 'mission made' states in the top left corner of tacview but I guess this is your go to notch test mission. Thanks for your efforts.
  17. AIM-54 ccm_k0= 1.0, AIM-7 ccm_k0= 1.0, AIM-120B ccm_k0= 0.06, AIM-120C ccm_k0= 0.04, Only the developer has come up with these numbers not based on 'facts'. Where can I read these facts? With an 'unrealistic' dice roll method of creating countermeasure why punish some missiles more than others to such great extent? In the interest of creating a threat from all missiles wouldn't it be better if these values were closer and chaff became less of a decider. Any missile with ccm_k0= 1.0 is easily defeated with rapid presses of chaff. A typical but not accurate example SARH missile at 10km + d20 dice roll of 5+ = defeated. (Why not 10+?) AIM-120B 10km + d20 dice roll of 20+ = defeated. (Why not 15+?) Yes, AIM-120 should be better but by how much? Flying in DCS with current implementation depending on your missile choice is either too easy or too hard. If SARH missile is launched on you just laugh, I am sure this is not what real pilots would do. I guess my real question is why should all missile be subject to a gamey chaff dice mechanic with the virtual exception of AIM-120. English sorry.
  18. Reports are that the SPO will not function correctly if using the radar and ecm at the same time. The SPO library has been brought up plenty of times before, but the reality is the library will be classified and tailored to the mission at hand, likewise DCS SPO is tailored to DCS. To call it flat out wrong is incorrect, it approximates the function of a classified system.
  19. I bought DCS Ka50 Blackshark in 2008, still enjoy it to this day. What else did i buy in 2008, Call of Duty World at War amongst numerous others which have all been shelved for the last 12 years. Comparing this genre with others is a pointless exercise, you either love flight sims or you don't, make your decisions based on that.
  20. Наша гипотеза по имеющимся открытым данным. If you are going forward with missile performance and rejection why are you still persisting with dice rolls to determine missile rejection. In DCS if a perfect notch is achieved with chaff then a dice roll is made to see if it is successful. Surely this should be either 1 or 0 without the need for gamey dice rolling. Also why is 'radar cross section' (RCS) a big factor during notching, how can an F-16 and Mirage notch much better than larger fighters when the beam of an aircraft is an even greater RCS multiplier for all aircraft? Isn't notching based on speed rather than reflection.
  21. Yes the Ka50 Skhval works differently, you adjust the target gate to suit the image then after locking this automatically adjusts the bigger or smaller the image gets. This is probably how the 25T should work but Advanced System Modeling in full fidelity is more in depth than the Standard System Modeling in FC.
  22. Target size is roughly the size of the target in metres give or take some, eg. M1A2 10m, small aircraft 15-25m. Anything large is 60m, B-1B locks at 60m.
  23. The Skhval is not chasing the exhaust smoke it is just losing lock and remaining in last known position. Target size in top left is at 60, you'll never achieve lock on an aircraft with this size, you should be setting it at between 16 and 25 for fighters any other setting will not lock. I've attached 2 tracks to show how the method of instant lock makes it so much easier, nothing harder than trying to acquire locks while in a dogfight albeit the F15 didn't want to play too much, stupid AI, though the A10 fight was fun but we called it off.
