You'll find range reduced in both Flanker and Fulcrum when flying at 10,000m and scanning down low. You don't need to get real low to get better range just lower than 10km, 4-8km should be just fine.

MiG-29 EOS Scanzone left/right not working
Frostie replied to BlackPixxel's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
I'm not following unless you're implying the eos only scans what is in the 6x4 target designator. From what the manual states the same can be said in DCS, the scan coverage is displayed as a fixed +/-30 +/-15 and the cursor can be slewed to these limits. I would have thought the td would be a sensor focus eg. Radar or seeker. -
MiG-29 EOS Scanzone left/right not working
Frostie replied to BlackPixxel's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
MiG29 OEPS-29 is stated at +/-30deg azimuth. Su27 OLS-27 +/-60deg azimuth. Left and right scan zones on the DCS 29 are not to be used, left over from older version. -
MiG-29 EOS Scanzone left/right not working
Frostie replied to BlackPixxel's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Yes scan zone is limited to central only, they removed left and right capability for FC2 but kept the switch and animation in for some reason. Also up, down elevation is done with the nose of the aircraft, the eos is fixed in place so no elevation control other than by moving the aircraft, it is this way rather than horizontally stabilised like the radar is. -
This is a long term bug that from what I understand has never been acknowledged. For a long time now clients have been able to be added into the same flight as other clients or put into any position of the flight through the ME. In single player the player will get shared datalink info with the AI Su27 or Su33 in his flight but in multiplayer this feature has never worked. When 2 or more clients share a flight set up in the Mission Editor the datalink info should be shared between the clients. In a 4 ship with 1 player and 3 AI the player gets the shared datalink info, but if you add another client into that flight so as to have 2 clients and 2 AI the 2nd client will not receive any info from the rest of the flight and the 1st client will not see the 2nd client on DL either. 1 CLIENT WITH 3 AI Client in position 1 with 3 AI All AI visible 2 CLIENTS (position 1+2) with 2 AI (position 3+4) 1st Client in position 1 of 4 ship (2 clients + 2 AI) Only 2 AI visible, client 2 not visible. 2nd Client in position 2 of 4 ship (2 clients + 2 AI) No update given Overview of flight (2 clients + 2 AI)

The bandit was clearly much higher than you as shown on Datalink but you never once elevated the radar up, instead you nosed up, I hope you don't think this makes your radar look up. :)

Regarding the Skhval it was a terrible experience and took some time to get used to what was going on, locks were happening about 3km so constantly being head down looking at the TV chasing helis with the target box wondering why it wouldn't lock was getting a lot of us in a World of hurt. I don't think removing the Gazelle is a good idea, as much as it is a bit funky it is part of DCS and adds to the challenge. Octuplefire was an absolute menace in the Gazelle L. I had a great last sortie splashing 3, a Huey, and 2 Mistrals. Going head to head with a Mistral that launched a couple at me whilst I had to manually guide my Vikhrs at him was amazing fun and I need more of it. The level of planning and execution by Blue team is the reason they won this by a country mile, congrats to them.

Great fun as always. Red really slow out the gate didn't help things, these kind of events timing is crucial. I think everyone had great fun though and thats what counts.

It wasn't a request so I don't understand why it has been moved to wishlist. I was questioning the logic. As it happens the iff is incomplete, as we knew (which incidently is inaccurate) there is currently no friendly indication but there will be a clear distinction for friendly in future updates.
-
I don't think it is possible to interrogate for hostile. Probably box is initial lock (unknown), diamond is no iff return. The friend indication sounds about right. Thanks.
-
I know this is wip but currently iff consists of square for friendly, diamond for no return. This can add an unneccesary element of confusion when banked. Surely it would have made more sense to go with a circle for friend.

The visual problem in DCS has always been the disappearing within a certain range within (within 10km range) aircraft do, this has never been sorted since the beginning. The 60km visual that was implemented a while ago was total bs in my opinion and made dot hunting in Viggens, 21s, F5s, Korean era etc. ridiculously too easy. Yes it was fun killing F-15s in weaker aircraft but it never felt realistic at all. Hopefully ED can come up with a solution that fixes all.

104th Phoenix - Operation Southern Shield - Dynamic PvP Mission
Frostie replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
The free option is usually the more popular one. ;) -
I can't wait either, its just a shame chopper kills didnt count for 30points instead of 50points then Red could have been the cocky ones. That was the small margin between the outcome in this event. Also the Reds opinion before the event started was that we were going to get wrecked by Gazelles.

Thanks Alpenwolf fantastic event, great fun. Just curious why the scores are so far apart though? After some minor adjustments Blue - 14 AA kills - 18 AG kills - 20 losses Red - 8 AA kills - 33 AG kills - 15 losses Are there more adjustments that i'm missing.

Of course gravity has effect, you point the nose up acceleration is slow, level it is normal you point the nose down you accelerate quicker. Gods G allows you more G at the apex on top of a loop for example as opposed to pulling out of a dive where gravity is against you, try it and you will find it.

SAM maybe?

10 degrees Fixed at 4 bar scan, 2.5 degrees each scan.

Azimuth is +-60deg on Eagle, Flanker and Fulcrum. Edit: for confirmation Page 56, Flanker manual In the STT mode, the radar can lock one target and track it in 120 degree of azimuth. Page 67, F-15 manual The width defaults to - ±600, but by pressing the [RCtrl+-] key, - ±300 can be selected. Note- ±300 and 600 should be 30deg and 60deg, possible typo in the manual.

EDs missiles all suffer there is not too much to complain about bias wise. The solution is to ask RAZBAM to make an R27R, they made their own 530D after being dissapointed with EDs version, it was a great improvement.;)
