  1. I'm glad you found a workaround. Try updating your Realtek drivers, please.
  2. Yes! Disclaimer: this is not an official answer. It is my personal opinion. First of all, if anyone wants to offer their 3D models, or any other content for inclusion into DCS World and we agree on the quality and the terms, he/she will need to sign an agreement for transfer of copyright. It's like a standard contract work no matter are money involved here or not. Moreover, I see no need for the poll. Anyone interested always can contact us directly. Any call for public action will lead to a flood of low quality content which we will have to spend our time reviewing, negotiating etc... No one wants the hassle. There is already a much simpler way for the user-generated content: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ I'm sure it can be improved - this is the area where your feedback will be appreciated more probably.
  3. it will be helpful if you post you dcs.log with crackles.
  4. Is is obvious from your screenshot, that the updater operates on drive C: - not enough space indeed.
  5. most probably it's this: 2020-04-25 19:03:51.190 ERROR DX11BACKEND: Shader "model/def_material.fx:..." failed to create. check w/o your Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods, you seem to have quite a few.
  6. Actually, the option works as "play audio while in background". The option title will be renamed in the next openbeta. Note: Options do apply after pressing OK only.
  7. Please, PM me your autoupdate_log.txt file. No need to stop the update, just take a copy of the file.
  8. It's useful if you happen to have more than 1 DCS install, like the release and the openbeta. They will cherry pick the files from each other when appropriate. The updater does search for the files in all DCS installs it can find, before downloading. It even tries the default Steam library if present. (No way to use additional Steam libraries w/o parsing they weird config format, though). This way the most up-to-date copy serves as a local file library for others.
  9. Thank you for your kind words! Much appreciated :) Indeed, it works the way you describe. Even the updates and switches to a different branch work this way: it takes what it has and downloads only what's changed or missing. (By the secret: repair is technically just an update to the same very version ;)
  10. I'd like to see your dcs.log from the start when you do have a problem.
  11. Torrents work pretty bad with such a big number of leechers. We've added some additional HTTP capacity, so I disabled the torrents globally for now.
  12. are you on openbeta or release? and which region you are located in?
  13. I see. Thanks for the info. The issue is known, unfortunately our most loyal customers get hit worst, but the cause is already found and the fix is being tested. As for refreshing the audio device list in runtime, I'll check it out.
  14. May be this is the real issue, then? How long?
  15. dcs_local_source.txt just adds a custom path where to look for the files. Normally, paths of other DCS installs are taken from the registry. Answering your question: yes you can. No harm, apart from longer checking times for what can be picked up from local sources.
  16. It is possible that Heatblur guys have the length fixed in their code. Or it is defined by the length of the simulated process. That's a question to them. Speech.sdef does not reference any wave files. Sdef is a 'source definition', it just sets up the default playback params for the virtual audio source. Most of these params may be overridden by the code. In the case of Speech, the playlist is constructed in the code (in the lua scripts, actually). These speech-related scripts do not support usermods ATM, and never supported them directly. This is a registered feature request, if you are interested.
  17. Seems like either your router or your firewall does not keep up with the number of connections used for torrents. I've increased the limit recently. We can do a test, wait for a PM from me.
  18. Device cannot be changed automatically once it is opened. Please, use the DCS sound device selection to change your output device.
  19. what do you mean?
  20. what do you mean "change audio device" - where? in windows? or in dcs?
  21. Sorry, no fix, I haven't found the root of the problem yet. I'll post here as soon as I have any positive results.
  22. you can officially move saved games folder by opening its Properties->Location in Windows Explorer
  23. thanks a lot for the test!!!
  24. Nah, the torrents are reused if there're no content changes. Can you please send me the settings of your torrent client? And if you happen to use qBittorrent, check it as well, please - it uses the same library.
  25. Most probably the file was deleted by your antivirus.
