Recruitment for 494th is open Hello! I am happy to announce that the 132nd Virtual Wing will be opening for class 5 in the 494th flying the F/A-18C Hornet. For this new class we will only accept 2 new trainees. The class is so small because of the very limited IP availebility, and we are not able to get more pilots through the training. Mandatory training flights High level of the mandatory flights with an IP during IQT and MQT: Flight 1: Basic flight with an IP: showing capability for precision flying and doing AAR. Flight 2: 132nd Comms and ATC and airbase operations. Getting proficient handling comms with GND, TWR , Approach and AWACS. Flight 3: Tactical formations and turns Flight 4: 1vs1 WVR Basics Flight 5: 2vs2 BVR Basics Flight 6: SAT 1 Basics (Surface Attack Tactics) Flight 7: MQT checkout. Combining what you have learned in a simulated combat mission to show proficiency as a wingman on 132nd events. After IQT and MQT then pilots will move on to various topics in Continuation Training to gain additional proficiency. During all phases there is a heavy emphasis on self-qualification lessons, so new pilots will need to be able, diciplined and motivated to conduct training on their own to make sure to progress in accordance with the training program. Criterias for selecting trainees Because of it beeing such a small class of trainees, we are very selective on who we will choose to start up training. We have three criterias that is of outmost importance, which all will be taken into consideration when selecting 1. Activity. What are your activity levels, and are you planning to stay active 2. IP potential (Instructor Pilot). We are in high demand of IP's, and thus pilots that are skilled, and is interested in taking on the extra burden of teaching others will be prioritized- 3. Contributions to the squadron/wing. Running a wing and a squadron require a lot of work behind the scenes. Either through making missions, making briefs, maintaining a website, creating movies, creating documentation etc. Pilots that are interested in helping will be prioritized. Questions for applicants We have decided on the following questions, which I want applicants to be honest and give their best assessment of the following questions. This so we can select the best candidates to start training. 1. What is your current skill level in the F/A-18C? 2. What is your availebility to conduct trainings on Wednesdays and Sundays the next month (1800Z-2000Z? 3. What is your availebility to conduct trainings on other days than Wednesdays and Sundays to get a more rapid pace through the training program (Pending IP availebility) 4. How do you fit in in accordance with the 3 criterias of activity, IP potential and contributions to the wing/squadron? 5. Why should we pick you as one of next pilots in the class of 494th? 6. When are you availeble to start training? 7. Why do you want to join the 494th 8. What do you think about flying 6 training flights per each combat mission? Answer your questions in a email , PM on ED forums or Discord to 132nd.Neck Feel free to ask any questions here or on PM's.

Hello! I am from the 132nd Virtual Wing, flying in the F/A-18C in 494th Virtual Fighter Squadron. We have made a basic skin for our squadron, but I have seen some amazing artwork by talented artists here in the community. I want to check if anyone would be able to support us by creating a "CAG" skin for our squadron. I am aware of the amount of hard work is required, but I wanted to reach out in case anyone would be interested in helping. Here are some screenshots with our current basic skin: Here is also a youtube video with the squadron in action: If anyone is interested in helping out, please let me know, and I can provide our .psd files for our basic skin.

Yes. Combined Arms is a great tool to enhance the coop MP experience. We in the 132nd use it alot for JTAC's, as you can see in the youtube links below (unfortuantly I dont have any videos from the JTAC, CA perspective): Basic JTAC/CAS training CAS training without using TGP So, I will highly recommend Combined Arms to enhance your coop experience!

I'm trying to find a canada- based virtual squadron
NECK replied to SkeeterDu's topic in Multiplayer
@SkeeterDu: You could also try the 5e EVC, a really great group that have flown together with the 132nd on many occasions. I highly recommend flying with them. http://5escadrevirtuelle.ca/ -
In the 132nd Virtual Wing we use UniversRadio, developed by Tacno. This is a plugin to Teamspeak. With UniversRadio you can use the in-game radios. You can select your PTT for the radios in the UR control panel. (for the Mirage, I can not help you, as I dont fly the Mirage myself). Universradio works very well, and I highly recommend using UniversRadio for multiplayer flights.. Link: http://tacnoworld.fr/universradio-download/

Great initiative! -
Yes, under drawings you can import JSON files (import drawings) Here is an example from a mission within the 132nd Virtual Wing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p03zo5jrgyxijdr/OP%20GT%20JSON%20file%20september?dl=0 You can run LotATC, and then import the file and you should see what is possible.

Thanks to Yurgon, SageOT, Doughboy, Robin_Hood, WHOGX5 and blacknight3022 for attendance on the JTAC theory and practical events this weekend. It was a lot of reading, preparing, and much stuff to learn, but I think everyone did a great job, which is also the feedback from the CAS pilots who were able to support during the CAS practical sessions. A good dedication and a willingness to learn about the JTAC/CAS field were an excellent startpoint for going through the stuff we did this weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed it, and that it added value to your overall DCS experience. I also hope this new JTAC/CAS knowledge is also something that can add value to your own organizations and the DCS community at large during other DCS events. I thank everyone for the positive attitude, and I want to welcome all the attendees back for more training or combat events whenever you have the time and willingness to be a JTAC.

Sounds good! Copy that, I have sent you a PM with some more details. No problem at all. That is the challenge with big differences in timezones.
