  1. Well... you might need a joystick as well I think :D But seirously... headtracking is really useful, I'm using it for only like a month but never starting my sim without it again. ;)
  2. Yes, this is standard behavior of SFM (simple flight model) planes, just like the MiG-29 in FC3. It'll disappear once they update the flight model. Same for the Hawk.
  3. Yeah I guess, I don't have them but it should work like that. I see you're new to A-10, excitement is high, but don't forget there's a STEEP learning curve and a lot of things to get hold of, so take it slow and steady, google/youtube stuff, read manual, ask here if you need to, but be prepared to fail many times and don't rush ;) As for the iraq, they used regular grey camo. I don't want to google right now, but I think the green ones were around only back in the day during the desert storm and such...
  4. Just in case, here's where you find it, after you click your aircraft icon on the map: But it might not be available for the training missions you're talking about as they start right after you click the button. In regular missions, you can usually access the editor and change your loadout as well as the skin.
  5. This is the list of all default A-10C skins in DCS (credit to whoever did this, I can't remember) When you start the mission, you'll fly the skin that has been selected for you by the mission designer. Unless you change it by yourself in mission editor ;)
  6. What do you mean by just grey? Aren't they all grey? :D And skins usually go to \DCS World\Bazar\Liveries and then to particular aircraft folder.
  7. Watch at 2:45 and 4:15... or better, watch the whole thing ;)
  8. JDAM will drop on the SPI no matter how you set it.
  9. Thanks, that explains the difference quite well.
  10. This will help you with everything HOTAS related; download it, print it, use it. A few hours of flying and you'll do it from memory. ;)
  11. Looks nice so far, too bad I don't fly choppers :) I can see a few things I would do differently but I'll keep my nitpicking for myself :D And I'm glad I could help.
  12. How does it work then, I'd like to know actually... I mean if it's not classified. Does FC we have in DCS works differently than in the real deal?
  13. It's easy, just look at the glass. If it's curved like on the left, you have the good one. Although there was a guy who managed to get it working with bad one as well... And facetracknoir has point tracker plugin just like opentrack.
  14. Why? Both CPU and graphics card has energy saving states and lowers its frequencies and voltages automatically according to load.
  15. No problem Skull, I'm glad I could help. Flickr is usually my place to go when searching for high resolution photos. Many photographers are also happy to send you highres even if it's not available right away, if you ask them. Only sometimes the photos are hidden under a ton of irrelevant stuff or you have to get creative with your search terms :) ...and so on. J.
  16. FTnoir works just fine, you have to download the hotfix. My headtracking works 100% of the time even if I start it after I'm already in cockpit ;)
  17. Good luck with your paint.
  18. The image will get blurry although you can probably fix this by doing what I wrote above to some extend. You'll also get all the IR through making the image look funky. And point of removing IR filter is to replace it with visible light blocking one, so no, cam won't be usable then. Also, check if your ps eye is actually the modifiable one.
  19. It will. As there's still some work left it should be by the end of the week hopefully.
  20. Good thing I spared you of some nasty texture alignment shenanigans and specular channel creation as the default one does not really fits, eh? ;)
  21. WHAT IF this was already flyable? WHAT IF this paint was already done? 2 weeks™ :music_whistling:
  22. I meant that my ps eye lens is not locked in blue or red dot position like you've asked, but I managed to lock it somewhere in between to get my lost focus back. ;) I can't compare with TIR, but I had no problems so far clicking anything, even CDU in A-10. I'm using facetracknoir as I had some problems in opentrack with translation jittering and couldn't manage to get rid of it.
  23. I'm using neither. The camera got a little blurry after filter removal and I managed to get it back to focus by locking it in certain spot near the red dot. But with a good filter and not overly bright areas behind you, focus shouldn't be a problem with headtracking.
  24. I wouldn't bother with painting at this point since they said they'll update the external model for DCS L-39 release, which might be not that far away.
  25. As far as I know, there's only PAC-2, so stabilization when firing. When A-10A PFM came out, it had no stabilization whatsoever and the gun was pulling the nose up, so they added it an update later...
