DDT alpha channel color overlay and transparency
GeorgeLKMT replied to BackboneOne's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
What advanced approach? There's a texture on the windscreen. If you change the color or the alpha intensity of that texture, you change the color of the windscreen. But doing that, you introduce green lighting on the glass at night. So the solution is not making the texture yellow (it's not green with the default color and you discovered that it's not green with red glass either)... but then you won't have yellow windscreen. There would be a solution if there was a separate texture for flood where you could mask the area in alpha for example. But there's not. -

Making it yellow makes it green at night with the flood on. But you have to make it yellow if you want yellow glass during the day. So pick one: - Yellow windscreen - Transparent flood lighting ;) -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range

Does this mean we'll get to choose whether we want that F-15 or A-10 campaing? -
Only the DIVERT on the NAV page. It shows a list of airports with the one on top being the closest, and you can see the runway info and frequencies there. Not the runway heading though, that's why I always fly with smartphone for pdf charts and checklists.

It's the internet, everyone's expert. :D Just ask, it's what this forum is for, feel free to start a new thread even ;)

Correct. Also, instead of MGM, we'll have OMG  I can't find the screenshot now though...

Alright! I guess if it was an importnant setting, I would already read about it somewhere in more detail... :)

Q: - Horizontal Offset - Vertical Offset - Weapon Eject Velocity - Bomb Rack Delay Manual only tells me the limits and no tutorial I ever watched covered it (at least I can't remember). Is there any reason to change these settings and if so, how should I use it? Thanks.

HSI change needles color
GeorgeLKMT replied to rokomah's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
And have you tried my solution? ;) Because I just did and found it after 10 minutes. The inner part (freq) is in the A-10C-buttsw_01, fourth one in the top row. The texture is used for 6 different buttons. The outer ring part (pwr/off) is in the A-10C_elements_03, and is used for 3 different buttons. And no, you cannot paint just one, the same texture is applied to all of them. -

If you looking for something and you don't know where it is, paint every texture in different colour (or paint one, test, then another... that's up to you). Then, if you see a part you're looking for in pink (for example), you know it's somewhere where you painted pink. ;) Same thing if you know on which texture it is, but don't know where exactly... then you just divide it to a bunch of coloured squares. -

I don't know where it is and I'm not going to spend the night looking for it, but I can tell you what I usually do. Make a new layer and fill it with color. Every texture with different one. Then look what color is that part on the model and you know where to look. And if you narrow the search to just one texture and you still don't know where it is exactly on it, divide it to a bunch of colored squares. ;) -

DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha There is your problem. :) Use DXT5. -
Look in the description.lua, it's overlaid as decal ;) Texture used for this paint is f15_decolF.

Q: Will there be a paintkit available upon release or shortly after? Q: Will the L-39C get a full sized manual with the release? (i.e. not just a quickstart manual) Q: Are there any features to be left disabled or incomplete during the initial beta state and are there any estimates for how long will the L-39 be in said beta? Q: In one of the videos, we could have noticed the anti-icing system caution light on the advisory panel. Does this mean that the anti-icing system is fully modelled, both for automatic and manual control? And if left switched off, will the icing conditions have negative effect on the aircraft performance? What about visual representation of the icing on the model?

Who knows. They already said that these images are not indicative of anything. And that F-4 image is from Milviz (FSX).

DCS World News and Q&A for 23 Aug 2015
GeorgeLKMT replied to Wags's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Thanks for the info wags. I hope that modelling a new carrier for a carrier-based aircraft, that'll probably become your flagship product, will be quite a no-brainer and also not something requiring additional payment. Landing an expensive high-end module, in modern simulator using the latest technology, on a low-poly brick from 10 years ago is kinda ridiculous. ;) -

Wags, can we get a clarification on that carrier, please? Does it mean that new carrier model isn't coming with the Hornet or only as a DLC? Thank you. -
Hot damn! Gazelle is one of those machines that's so ugly it's beautiful. Good luck Polychop :)

Just click on them. And if you want them off globally for all aircraft, there's an option in the settings under the Gameplay tab.

Is it possible to change the color of the NVG?
GeorgeLKMT replied to shon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
If you're so afraid of your calibration and color accuracy is absolutely crucial for you, you should probably already know that it's recommended to recalibrate your monitor every now and then. :) Professionals working with accurate color space on high end monitors can do it even once a month or so. Somebody who "likes to edit" on cheapo consumer display is OK with calibration once a century really, LCDs are fairly color-stable.... ;) If you're afraid of increased wear of green subpixels, you would need to display 100% green on the whole panel for like 10000 hours straight to measure a difference (and I even doubt that), not play a game that's kinda green for a few hours a week. Don't forget that sky is blue most of the time :) I'm not trying to sound cynical, it's just really not an issue. If you still want to change it, perhaps somebody will help, but like I said, it's green for a very good reason. -

GeorgeLKMT replied to shon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
What do you mean by hurting? It does absolutely nothing to your monitor. If it's just too bright for you to see things, you can change the intensity as you wish, just set up a keyboard assignment in the settings. And your eye is actually the most sensitive to green anyway :) -
PRE-PURCHASE DCS: L-39 ALBATROS Discussion Thread

We don't know. There are people asking about this already in QA thread so hopefully Wags will give us an answer. It would be nice thing to have though. -
RED WING Simulations: NH-90
GeorgeLKMT replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
MysteryFX was mentioned as VEAO partner (or whatever) for their NH-90 project, which is now postponed indefinitely. Their renders were even a part of the official announcement.
