LBGs inaccurate - DCS Map Bug / Geo-positioning Changes from older missions? I have a 100% repeatable case of LBG inaccuracy in this mission. This error disappears with the same aircraft on a brand new built test mission. Scenario F-14, GBU-10s, Litening Pod, Point Track, self-lased lased target on level ground. In this "Through the Inferno PG" Mission, lased target bombs are consistently impacting a few feet (say about 50 - 80 feet) away from the actual lased point. In a brand new self made mission (also PG map), I can hit spot on the lased point every time. Since LGBs are guided, the behaviour should consistently be pin-point accuracy under these circumstances. So why does a laser guided bomb impact elsewhere in older missions (like this one), but land spot on in newly created ones. Is this a bug? Something is odd here and I believe to have read in a few places where people experience odd, but very consistent bombing inaccuracy (even on free fall bombs) on existing or older self-made missions (even when they have been re-saved in the latest DCS version). As soon as those same people create a brand new test mission, the inaccuracy disappears. I could repeat this with my own testing today and can confirm this behaviour since the last couple of patches. I hope there is an easy fix or else I feel sorry for the guys who make Dynamic PVE Missions with lots of content and painstaking tweaking only for it to be rendered marginally playable by this issue and having to re-make the whole thing from scratch. Any comments, test-confirmation from other community members would be welcome and might help pinpoint the exact problem.

Hi BigNewy, sorry to hear that. I will see whether I can make a track with a more basic mission. Do you believe that the wingman/ground crew behaviour could be linked to the scripting in the mission and not be a bug as such? EDIT: I have observed in this mission that my wingman will launch sucessfully sometimes, but not every time (it's about a 50/50 split) -

here it is. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-mD_mvv4O3YEAD6kSa7jLj_xgYlfze1R/view?usp=sharing 1st occurrence - mission time 5:23 aboard supercarrier. i give wingman space to taxi to cat first. he gets stuck and stays stuck 2nd occurrence - mission time ca. 6:03: wingman goes first again. gets stuck, lots of attempts to get him going including comms to ATC, request takeoff, req. launch, abort t/o, req. t/o and so on... all to no avail. Once he moves forward a bit only to get ignored by crew again and remaining stuck. my aircraft is not ignored by the crew at any time. -

Yep. I think you're in the right track. The issue is that this wonderful software caters for every possible permutation of hardware software and supported games as an all in one package! It's a herculian task which has been most admirably delivered, but must be a nightmare to maintain and incrementally expand. Perhaps a poll to your users might give an indication of who is doing what with it right now might help you to focus? Modularising and setting it up on GIThub may also elicit some collaborators and might create developmentvspecialisation for various features to reduce the pressure and workload on you.... Hi Home Fries Because of this difference in DX mapping between say F18, A-10, F-14 and the frustration this causes with using VAICOM and SRS with a single PTT for SRS, I have done extensive modifications to the code to force similar DX for similar Radios across all aircraft with VAICOM and SRS being the basis instead of the aircraft. . This deviates a lot from your stock approach, but really works for me to help the muscle memory and VAICOM / SRS integration at the cost of some realism. In addition I have remapped Intercom on the F14 to DX29 which helps a lot with avoiding ghost keying the ICS microphone on VAICOM when using the MFDS. Personally I believe this to be more user friendly across the board compared to the "close to the real aircraft" approach. I also hacked the zoom function to include an automatic TrackIR precision trigger at low FOV and made some other tweaks. Naturally I groan with each new update since I have to reintegrate my code changes every time. If you like, I can send you my hack job to have a look at and consider adoption, if more players prefer this DX mapping approach... Let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 2260 replies

ok, i did think of that. tried "request take off" from ATC, "request taxi to runway" from ATC,"request launch" from ground crew, but got no noticeable change in behaviour - they stand nicely at each catapult, but no response to direct the plane as I approach or any of the other launch behaviour as one would expect....

I modified one of the Through the Inferno SC MP Missions to include an AI wingman in my flight (just added another unit at skill level excellent). After Cold Start and taxi i get "Rolling" confirmations from my wingman, but the deck crew ignores him as he taxis up to the catapult. He does not get hooked up and does not launch - just stays parked on the deck waiting. I can launch and take off but i have no joy with my wingman. This is 100% reproducible in the same mission. Bug or am i missing something?

Thanks for those.:thumbup: I tried them in my MP server and at least on the PG version I get no catapult directions from any of the ground crew. From CAT 1 through 4, they stand around and simply ignore me. Circumstances: only one slot occupied with an AI Rio. No other players. Is this intentional? is more than one player in the mission a condition for Cat Launch?

Yep it's a bug. Workaround is to command assisted startup straight after loud and clear. That makes Jester continue the process of alignment once both engines are running and air is disconnected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just a note to take care: when you update DCS, the read only attribute should be removed beforehand to allow DCS to update all files in case ED makes more changes to the code. A quick compare inspection afterwards should show that up. You can then re- apply the mod or make a new mod file with the small code change and re- set the attribute afterwards. Do you have "fullscreen" in dcs System options enabled? If so, this is the issue. DCS cannot export viewport (e.g. MFDs etc) properly when running in fullscreen. If ensbled, untick that box and try again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
