  1. some on our server started already to call it propbi... :)
  2. +1000 hopefully they consider a fix for this issue.
  3. yesterday was just awesome...much laughter and many good fights!
  4. well, i tried that "easy" way, but that doesnt work for me at all....as soon as i am in dcs, it stops moving the mouse.
  5. tried it now finally,...but somehow i cannot get servman to work. i read the installation guide, and made sure to have restart-miz enabled... the problem is, that although i have set "pause server when empty" to false, that when i load up the server, the mission seems to be paused..and worse, its not showing up at all for clients in the server list.... any ideas?
  6. many german pilots called their ride Me-109. :)
  7. thats an interesting topic...well for me at least... i know, Yo-Yo alwas insists on the P51 still being the same bird...i still remember when i first started with dcs in the P51, with horrible take offs, lots of crashes and quite a bit frustration at first...and the overwhelming feeling of success when i did get this bird up into the air... now i couldnt think of something easier really...especially the P51 is no challenge at all for me.with the steerable tailwheel, there is no need for rudder trim or any trim at all for take offs and landings. just a little rudder for correction...to me now, it almost feels too easy...i believe Yo-Yo of course, and im convinced its still the same bird, but subjective feeling is, that its scaled down to "arcadish" easy behaviour on take offs and landings...well, practice obviously makes a huge difference :)
  8. interesting! yes i am convinced there is a way, and probably its only an adjustment in one of the lua files...
  9. nosing over in dcs in the 109 is definitely possible if you hit the breaks even with the stick full backwards at time, if fuel is low....
  10. with the ww2 map still far away, i think it would be awesome to give us the possibilty to create airfields on the map, where we want them...it could give us lots more possibilties to create a little more immersive "ww2" missions, a little away from the immersion breaking modern environment... i tried to make it happen with the FARPS, but unfortunately, although i get the ATC to reply, and give me inbound headings, and also start up permissions, it seems impossible to spawn there...also re-arming/re-fueling and repairing doesnt work it seems... whats working in the 109, is to get the inertial starter.... now it would be awesome, to have a mission editor object, similar to FARPS, resembling a grass runway strip, with the possibilty to set frequencies, and to spawn fixed wing aircraft, or at least warbirds there, let them re-arm and repair, and refuel...would give us mission builders lots more possibilities, and would make the waiting a little less painful... EDIT: actually it wouldnt need to be any visual model even like the FARPS, but only some "zone" which works as an airfield...
  11. hey guys. im wondering this for quite a while...i think for video editing purposes it would be awesome to be able to control outside views with trackir instead of using the mouse...i know that is possible when in jtac view sitting on a vehilce, but it would be awesome if one could also do that in with the default F11 view...is there anyway to achieve that? any .lua file to adjust to make this happen?
  12. ^^nope, thats an old link. we have uploaded it directly onto our server, and you find it on our website
  13. i think it is a mp only thing, but im not entirely sure. it does happen for the all the clients.i dont know whether it happens for the host though. it does happen in all missions.
  14. there are big differences in real life spotting of aircraft, and what we have in the sim, and how its working in the sim...in real life, you have a huge FOV in comparison to what we have in the sim. the sky is huge in real life, and has depth. it can be very hard to spot aircraft, which are even uncomfortably close to you.in real life, you look next to them, or look even "behind" or "in front" of them, altough you look at the correct direction, because your eyes are focusing the wrong distance...this makes aircraft spotting hard in real life. once you do spot them, its generally easy to maintain visual though.even at very far distances. in dcs, we dont have an in-depth sky, we have a narrow fov, and last but not least, broken lod models. i think, especially with tools like oculus rift on the horizon, which features higher FOV, the sim should aim for realistic spotting distances, at close to human FOV levels.also, i am convinced, that a very subtle smartscaling would do wonders, and could give us a way more realistic spotting experience.subtle is key though, otherwise we would end up with an arcardish spotting system, which isnt challenging at all anymore, and neither realistic. this coupled with improvements of the lighting system which is on its way with dcs2.0, and we should be good....well in terms of spotting aircraft at least.
  15. question to Yo-Yo: i noticed something really strange about force feedback yesterday... at least in the 109, its somehow connected to the view system.when i adjusted my views.lua file for the 109, i could create really strange ffb effects,as well as getting rid off them alltogether ....i really wonder how this is possible???
  16. that is not true though. ive seen it myself quite often, and also tried it myself against solid pilots, and the P51 is able to keep up and even outturn the 109 with fuel loads up to 68%.(and i am quite out of training in the P51) i never change my fuel-loads in the P51(im just too lazy for it) and for sure, the P51 can turn with the 109... actually their turning performance are just about equal i would say.yes, fuel load can help, it matters whether its a right or a left hand turn.at certain speeds p51 will turn better, and at certain speeds 109 will turn better... its a very close match between the two, and assuming you have two similar pilots, the one with inital advantage will outturn the other. what im interested in though is, why the P51 flaps do help by such a margin in sustained turns, while there is no gain whatsoever in the 109 when using them...
  17. i just wanted to "report" the bug, that if you bail out, at least in the warbirds, that you will be immediately sent to a point on the map, instead of having the view of the pilot on his chute...you immediately end up with a F11 style view...now thats not very immersive, but the real problem with it is, that this will cause the wheater in a mission to partially or completely disappear...so having a mission with anything other than clear blue skies is troublesome in multiplayer missions now, cause as soon as someone is bailing out, he will not have the correct weather settings anymore on his screen...
  18. i think, you misunderstood, or well, i chose the wrong word...i am not talking about big newsletters here, and i dont expect major updates every month.... BUT: the last real news about the map are i think 1 1/2 years old...news where we heard that there was progress. now i am not necessarily asking for screenshots of the map or anything, but probably even only a confirmation, that there was any kind of progress in the last 1 1/2 years on this front would be good to know. but as it is now, it seems as if they havent touched the map at all ever since this guy who was working on the map for rrg (sorry cant remember his name) was kicked out. ok, and if that is true, then some information about the ground units would do fine as well...really anything. even if they havent created one single model yet, there must be a plan behind the scenes...something they can share. or probably the most wanted feature of dcsww2...a bomber, even if AI only...really nothing at all to tell/show? or really nothing at all in regards of the announced warbirds? i know, we saw screenshots of early renders...but with very little words accompanying them. its just that with little more effort on the update front, i am convinced they could keep the hipe and prevent to let it fade away... and last but not least Sithspawn, yes, the guys who already fly the warbirds in dcs, will all agree with you: "But at the end of the day, when you are dog fighting, the ground you are over just gets in the way." but, with that thinking, ED will lose out on a big group, who are not flying dcs just because of this.there are lots of them, naming the lack of a map the reason why they dont fly dcs. also, i really hope, that dcsww2 will become more than just quick dogfighting.and if you want to immerse yourself, in really good and historical missions, a map is needed.
  19. hey, the dora actually did look quite good!didnt know that
  20. yes, thats certainly true...if you observe, after a warbird is released, for a few days, the ww2 servers are really populated...but then, after not too much time, we are back at the usual suspects who fly those birds no matter what...the others, well, probably fly other ww2 sims, which have maps.... but im also of the opinion, that ED would sell way more warbirds, if there was a map...i think, many do buy the warbirds, try them, and lose interest soon because of the lack of a proper environment... but i am convinced, that way more people would buy them, if there was this proper environment...so yeah, GT 5.0, i totally agree...the maps, should have top priority...especially the ww2 one. i dont believe, that many guys, even the most hardcore dcs ww2 fanbodys, will wait and use dcs for the next 2years without a proper map...people will start to fade away, try something else, and lose interest in this project. thats my fear. maybe some snippets of information about really anything dcsww2'ish would help to keep the enthusiasm alive, but even that is too much to ask for it seems...
  21. hey guys. i was trying to replace 1 model of a building, with another one...so i just renamed it...its working, but only within very low ranges...as soon as i look at it from a little farther distance, it changes shape back to the original model i was trying to exchange...so my guess is, that there must be different 3d models(lod models) used for different distances...the problem is, i cannot find them.
  22. ^^thats what its intended for! but i fear it will be a long way until we have a ww2 map, considering that edge is not yet released, and two more maps are being developed before they will start to work on the ww2 map.so i see no chance of the map being released this year...with luck maybe in like two years from now would be my guess. with that perspective...i am really tired of looking at things like nuclear powerplants or the like, im even starting to think about exchanging buildings on the map with each other, to give a little more ww2 look...i already tried to replace 1building with each other..and it seems to work..but i have a problem that i cannot find the different lod models for the buildings.so when im a little further away, the building switches shape to the one i was trying to exchange...well if i could only do 3d modelling
  23. because, there are no proper scenarios...no ground units no bombers, not even a map...i can understand people not interested in flying proper scenarios, without the "proper" :) also, the still very low numbers, very likely due to the above mentioned lacks, makes proper scenarios pretty much useless... nothing as distracting as flying a warbird, in a proper scenario, just to look down seeing several nuclear powerplants :)
  24. :) from above everybody thinks you are a 109, from below everybody thinks you are and AI p51 ignoring you until its too late lol...
