^^sorry, back then i only paid attention to the file to reach my desired result(im not completely happy with it anyway). but since then, i didnt take a look at the file anymore.so i dont know.but im sure diveplane would know the answer, as he is adjusting the same file for his soundmods.so you could ask him!sorry for not being able to help. -

well, yeah, the moded sound.lua makes sure that the audio sliders become redundant, and also adjusts the outside sounds, so that the unrealistic flyby sounds are not as much audbile anymore....if you insist on those unrealistic stock-cheat-flyby sounds then you can just delete the file in the modpack.we do not integrity check this file anymore anyway. so its up to you! glad the MSAA trick helped you.cheers. -

well, the adjusted LODs do work for sure. i assume that if you havent seen a single special livery, and if you dont notice any difference in spotting, that you have installed it wrong. if its really installed correctly, then i assume, you have MSAA turned on. also, the modpack does not make the external sounds louder at all... -

^^not new but already a change with 1.2.15 anyway here is a little track.never reached even 8g.iirc max g was 7.2 where the wing eventually broke.also no prior damage, as this was in the free flight mission which ships with the game. paper-wings.trk -

also nuclear power plants, ILS systems, the fact that my german ww2 pilot and german ww2 ATC talks in english(minor one but still) are sort of distracting. -

well i already opened a thread in the 109 subforum...but the devs are convinced that their way of implementing the limiations is the only way of doing it :doh: also, be careful...in that thread you will quickly be told that your flying skills are "beta" if you dare to say that there would be another way of implementing the limitations. :lol: -

hey mate!yes it was nice to meet you.well it was not really a gentlement move from me to still attack you near the airfield.but i was searching for too long for any human flown p51 to let you go.sorry for that :) well, in regards of which planes to chose...everybody ive talked with in person, who normally flies the 109, is of the opinion that with the latest patch and the implemented stick forces, the 109 just doesnt feel like a plane anymore.you have implemented stick forces now, which behave like you have joystick curves applied and even worse, those "curves" change with speed.... if you read the forums here, you will read lots of comments how "awesome" these stick forces are...funnily, all those guys i have only seen in P51s yet lol. you will have to make your own picture in the end i guess...but as it is right now, and if you have no special favorite out of those two aircraft in question, then i would recommend you the 190. no paper wings, and no forced joystick curves.not to an amount where it becomes an annoyance at least(they call it stick forces, but its just resulting in curvature settings dependent on speed.thats what it is really) if you have a FFB stick, then this is maybe less of a trouble. so, i am still flying the 109, but only because the 109 is my all time favorite ww2 aircraft.the simulation in dcs not so much anymore since the latest patch unfortunately.many if not most gave up on it already. so yeah, better get the 190 in a sale. i will create you a slot tomorrow with your skin! nice to meet you!have fun on the server! -

^^hello! our experience is, that it has something to do with SLmod. without it, i never had that bug.with it enabled, i and everybody else experiences that bug from time to time.mostly when you are already online for a while, and when there are more players online. as you said, the only workaround seems to quit and rejoin. -

well, let me say this...i wouldnt tell anyone i like, to enable MSAA or any kind of anti aliasing in dcs if he wants to see other aircraft at reasonable distances...so yes, turn that thing OFF.of course, it doesnt look as good anymore, but you should definitely notice a difference in spotting other aircraft.(also make sure your graphics card driver does not force it on)

yeah, i agree with Crump here as well...in the previous sims ive played, it was for the most time just too easy.there was a big black dot visible from exactly x nautical miles, no matter the condition(they all had their shortcomings as well...losing contacts because of broken LODs within a few hundred meters) in real life it can be very hard to spot other aircraft.and i remember when i had my first flying hours, that i was quite surprised at what close distances aircraft may "appear"...too close to feel confortable thats for sure.and also as he points out, it takes a trained eye to become better in real life.proper scanning is necessary. still i think spotting is one of the few big issues, which can either destroy a sim, or make it shine above all others.dcs 2.0 would be a good oportunity to make dcs shine even more than it already does.

i think its not sooo much the network code(yes it should be improved as well) but the main issue with our ww2 aircraft are the tracers.especially the p51 tracers.strangely enough, other tracers dont cause that much trouble. wags stated i think approximately a year ago, that the tracer issue will be fixed with edge.the problem i see is, that the issue was there since the release of the p51, and edge is still not here and we still dont know when edge will go live. if the issue is not fixed with edge, then this will be a big disappointment.but wags promised it, so i have confidence. i totally agree with the last sentence.
